"It ain't broke until it's broke broke" 😂 facts!
That one got me 🤣
I always heard don't fix it 'til it's broke. God bless the Farmers. Thanks yal.
words from a wise man
"Let's see what I can break today". "This field isn't gonna harvest itself". "They're gonna leave the parts on the backside of the building, behind the tree, in a box". Love these!! What a relief when harvest is done! At least you don't have tobacco stripping to look forward to. :D What you do have is a massive harvest that makes KY fields look downright puny.
Lol and our parts store is far enough away im always like give me a pic the product number and tell me what its supposed to do so I can double check everything!
One of my frequent sayings during harvest..."the guys that built this never had to fix it!"
Or if it ain’t one thing it’s another and it’s always something
Oh my! I heard every last one when I was growing up. In some ways I do miss driving combine, but I definitely don't miss the crazy hours and the breakdowns. Happy Thanksgiving 2020.. Blessings to each at the Peterson Family Farm.
Need the farmer wife's version: "When is he coming home? Did something happen to him? Wonder if I should go check.... I just don't know when to have lunch ready....etc" Whos' going to do chores?
Need a proof of life text:-)
“Where is he why is he out so late”
Ya I think that be good one. Lol
You should been a farm wife before cell phones and two way radios!!! Talk about fun!!!😳
Harvester driver : I don’t have enough fuel to finish.
Cart driver: we are nearly done just keep it going.
The other one that scares me is : what did I just run over
"I thought YOU ordered more diesel!"
Yeah
Exactly
I can relate
“Gets in combine”
Fuel gauge below 1/4 tank. “I knew I should gotten fuel.” Took truck fuel tank.
3:58 -- that was a hell of an ope......making Wisconsin proud :"))
Am I the only one who thinks is hilarious LOL keep it up
Oh the frustrations of farming.
So true.
Oh well next year will be better. 😜
Cracked us up as we just got done Saturday and came into the house like we got 3 days to regroup stuff for Thanksgiving:-)
Want a side video of the farmers wife/ like helping for a few minutes (shut down the food/turn off electric/get all the critters in a pen/pack food no idea when you'll be back!)
Or the getting the parts (its a 3 hour round trip!) Love being a farmers wife but it cracks me up. Now onto splitting wood before hunters are back or hunting if you need food or . . . Onto fixing all the things that broke! Then in January there's the magic blink;-) the one that says next year will be better and all the hard stuff is forgotten 🤣😉
I'm laughing because I know the feeling! Love y'all!
Hilarious you guys nailed i was rolling just need to get wifes version it would be just as good i bet great job guys love your all videos Thanks for the laugh i needed one keep up the good work
Dad has his priorities in line. “What’s gonna break today?” “Slow down you’re gonna tear it up.” “Slow down you’re gonna plug it up.” “What were you doing going through that mud hole?” 😂
“WHAT ARE THE ODDS!” Facts
“ This is why we can’t have nice things!”😂😂😂
Thank you farmers!!!💗
I remember my dad saying "Why are you boys so rough on everything?!","Take it easy with that!", and '"Be more careful next time!" or how about "What did I JUST SAY!"
omg... my parents owned a small cafe in eastern Colorado. we would contract out with local farmers and harvest crews to bring out food. my dad had farmed some when i was younger. so he was glad to make it easier on them. we would stay open for them sometimes till well after midnight so they could get a chance to relax. almost everyday one of the foreman's or our locals would ask us to stop by "insert shop name here" on our way out. or can you drop this off when you get back. we took messages for the guys( late 90 early 00s) just basically the hub. the crews would drop their thermos's off with us at night. by next morning's they were washed and filled with fresh coffee. breakfast sandwiches and such ready to go for the ones that didn't make breakfast. which was always the same for everyone. so to be easier on the cooks to have things made in advance. man i miss that. it was really hard work but you knew you were getting paid nice and part of something so much bigger than our little area. thank you for the happy memories.
Loved reading this! There's nothing like being a part of a farming community - whatever role we play in making everything happen when it needs to happen.
always loved the small farming communities......folks looked after each other....grew up in Kansas and saw alot of this....you all stay safe....
"I miss it."
Reminded me of days at the fair, serving people. Learned "it's better to serve than to be served." Hard work but rewards are best. You find family in your neighbors.
God Bless.
Wow that's service!
♡♡♡♡ what a blessing!
It's funny because it's true.
Yup
I was laughing so hard I had to pause 30 seconds in! We don’t crop farm, but have said most of these during hay season.
That was awesome! Thanks Peterson Family!
My personal favorite. Wife When will you be home? Me “in a bit” that is anywhere between 5 minutes and 4 hours. Most of those made me laugh. Probably have heard most of them. This is a great video.
Howdy my Friends,
All I got to say is.....Hahahahahahahahaha !! That is SO so very true lol Stay safe, Stay Calm and Farm on, Peace
This is the most relatable video ever!
"This is why we can't have nice things!" is my dad's favorite line!😂
All of these sound like my family!! Thanks for another great video!
True, true and more true! I loved your list of field names. Every farmer names their fields either by who they bought it from, it's location, ie, creek pivot, or field characteristic. "The swamp"
Before we take the combine home drive around & make sure we didn’t forget any fields....I can get the rest of the field on this wagon.....honey, can you bring me a pitchfork & some soap& water? And some bandaids? And some coffee? And some twine? And a can of diesel? And a sandwich? Never mind honey, can you come & pick me up?
As a daughter of a farmer I agree this is exactly what they say u just need more angry cussing when a combine break😂
“I didn’t break it I was just running it when it broke”
I'ts the same all over the world...🤣
Sounds like there's a touch of urgency in everything a farmer might say! lol!
Yup, that's about right. haha
@@ZackVDH Yep! As I thought!
Peterson bros!!! I am missing harvest yet again due to service. THANK YOU for making me laugh out loud and smile non stop for 6 minutes straight. My family and I incredibly miss this time of year. I especially love conning your wife in to picking up parts in a box by a tree! My wife grew up in San Diego and has had the opportunity to experience all of this! God bless you guys!
Thank you for exposing the real life of a farm. It's not all fun all the time😂
We didn't have phones and we had to wait for someone to come back and just make food and have it ready for my dad andy brothers and me and Mom to eat plus we had to milk the cows too
How about "What were you thinkin'?!?" ( this is usually right after someone breaks something after doing something really stupid)
Lol...totally! Then don't forget to take off your hat & scratch your head, lol...
"The rock at the end of that row didn't get any smaller this year"...
This is so true. Great job.
I really like this guys! Great job!!! Listened to it 3 times now lol
Let’s see what we’re gonna break today 😂😂 and always complaining about the last person who planted
I got quite a chuckle out of this video ! The funny thing is as a retired farmer there was so much of the dialog I am certain that every farmer shares .
You guys nailed it!! I laughed watching this because I have heard most of those comments if not all of them! Love these videos because they celebrate the rural way of life- best life in the world. Bless you guys!
Very good video, thanks.
I can confirm these are said during harvest. This brings back memories (not the good ones).
This is so accurate lol. We even have Farmers Edge XD
Ah.....always get a good laugh from your vids guys! Keep up the great work ..many blessings to you from our farm in North Carolina! Josh #stoneyridgefarmer
Good
Hiya Josh love your content
Best job in the world!
Why is it that the 9/16 is always the one to go missing?
I love Kendall's "This is why we can't have nice things" ! :)
Thanks for this video. Absolutely the best you have done. I am still laughing with tears in my eyes. Wow. Reminds me of my days with family on the farm. Heard many of those before. Great video. Thanks. Iowa farm boy from years ago.
“Who planted this?...Oh right that was me.” 😂
My dad does the planting. He admitted to falling asleep in the one field. I usally run the forage harvester. He came up with a reason to harvest the field he fell asleep in. I never got to see how bad it was.
Now that's funny. 😁 Awesome video 👍
Um...YEP!! I'm the farm wife and I don't know how many parts runs I've done and had to find the special after hours box where the part is stashed at!
This is SOO true
Ive heard every single one of those😂😂 I'm the grain cart driver and its impossible to make the combine/truck drivers happy lol
I can tell ya from the other side. Y’all are always in the wrong place! Just kidding though. Without the grain cart driver we would have to drive the combine back to the truck at 6 mph.
"We will take care of that on a rainy day.. . . ."
This is so true to a day in the life of a farmer! How do I know?😂😂 Been there and done that. Thanks!!
Same comments over the 70 years I’ve been farming. Well done guys. Right on
Hi, how are you?
South Korea began to get cold after heavy rain last week.
I hope health and good things will be with you this week as well. ^O^
that is the way it always goes
I could sure hear my dad in this. Farmer in the 1940's - 50's and early 60's... sugar beets
You guys are so funny I couldn’t help but laugh
No, my other left! 😂
I'm 30 seconds into this and laughing like a mad man as I remember all the times I've said this stuff in the past. One my boys comes in and thinks I've finally lost it. If we had cell phones back in the day my dad would have had the John Deere dealer on speed dial. I even remember making the parts runs and picking up stuff "out back" of the dealer. Good times. I've got a few more for you guys:
1. Wheres the role of bailing wire? (the universal equipment fixer)
2. Where are the keys?
3. Did you remember XXXX? (insert whatever they probably forgot totally here)
4. See if you can borrow one from XXXX...
5. What did you do...?
6. Lets see, where's a good spot to go to the bathroom?
7. Fire!
8. Thats plenty of twine/fuel/time/etc to finish this field...
9. Man that itches.
Some that were common on our place but maybe not others:
10. Man that buzztail really looked po'd (after it was sucked into the bailer)
11. Watch the hill! (don't tip over or watch it when climbing the hill on the county road because people would drive down the middle of the road, even on the hill)
12. No. I said to stack it XXXX.
13. All the bin related stuff like "What bin did you want this in?" or "Did you check the bin?" etc. Face it, kids don't listen well.
14. Who left XXXX?
15. Did you check XXXX. Fuel/filter/water trap/bin/whatever
Great video guys. Brings back a ton of memories.
Almost all of this is exactly what we say on our farm
You liked your own comment didn't you
@@josiahdixon1018 no I didn’t
@@micah7469 Bet
Good to see dad join in the video. Great as usual.
I laughed the whole way through this video!!!!! My wife could add a lot more!
Throw in a couple swear words and perfection!
Or "Turn left where the old schoolhouse used to be.." Very common if you're a trucker on a harvest crew. Lol
@James Marquis Exactly!! Sometimes farmers forget you aren't from around there. Sometimes they even give you the wrong directions and then say " I must have told you wrong..."😂😂😂
"THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS"
We died at this one. Classic line!
This is so accurate
My husband's favorite answer whenever I ask him something - "well, we'll see what happens." I told him I am going to have that inscribed on his head stone. LOL
I think you guys pretty much nailed every saying. Great video.
In my area( fresno,ca there are a lots of march birth days first harvest of plums done midJune farm finaly gets a few good nights of sleep notices wife near him in bed.
Just come about 3 miles come down the dirt road cross the creek come down about 5 miles turn left take a right go left and I'll be back in the back of the back 40
😂 love it, we in the Nederlandse say lot of the samen thing.
Oh that was awesome. Words said by every farmer ever since the dawn of farming.
Oh and I saw that 9/16" in the other tractor. Seriously. Go look. It'll be there.
That is the funniest thing I've ever watched.
Hey, when we switched from corn back to beans, did you remember to turn the distributor on the leg?
One of your best videos yet.
#NotABot
😁😜😁😜😁😜😁😜😁!!!
#FARMERUA-camMAFIA
" It never made THAT noise before!" " Honey! It's not THAT difficult to operate. Just run it till I get back. You'll be fine. Trust me". " Uh Dad... ill have to call you back. The highway patrol is pulling me over. How much do you think I got on this load?" " Yeah.. this is AJ. Can you keep the shop open long enough to fix a couple tires today? Yeah... I know you are getting married this afternoon, but we REALLY need to get this truck back on the road" " Honey.... yeah.. I know you are in labor in the delivery room right now, but do you think you can run the grain cart later today?" " Uh... Larry.. small problem... that 85 acres you did yesterday.. yeah... that's not OUR field. I don't know who owns that corn"
Didn't know it is so common to have somebody work on the wrong field. Happened to me at my first job on a farm. Fortunately it was only a few acres and after harvest. No harm done, just did the neighbor a favor.
@@beatekreuzer5025 lol... the wrong field scenario has only happened once with us. The custom combine operator was supposed to be doing a field a couple miles from our farm for us. When I got there, he was just starting in the field beside ours and I assumed he was doing it for the owner before he got to ours. So, I parked the semi and called dad to come get me so I could bring the grain cart. Once I got the cart almost there, he was calling me asking to dump on me. That's when I realized things just went bad.
Obviously the G rated version! I’ve heard all of these, but my dad and bother sprinkle in quite a few expletives.
Laughed throughout the whole video very funny . Never saw this kind of video before do it again soon.
The same in Poland :) Greetings
This was fantastic! Super funny. Keep up the great work guys :)
Lol its always a ten mill !
Allretty full I can make it
love it
My favorite: Who planted this field? oh right.
😂😂 im always looking for tools
I work for a canning company and I thought somebody was taping us! But our harvest last around a 100 days of pure fun.
Tarnation ! 😂
This is so funny true lol. Great video
Good grief... this is all year for me it seems... you guys hit the nail on the head with this one!
Or the classic, "who left the cab like this".
Forgot “Of course it breaks with just a pass left” and “We can make it before it rains...damnit :(“
Hope you get some time to relax this winter before you have to start preparing for planting.
that is true we farmer say that sometim from sun up to sundown we feed the people thank you guys for what you do about us farmers
Peterson farm bros for life🚜🚜🚜
Man that tire is a little sketchy..... Ah it will last one more day!
Nice ending! God bless y’all!!
