I'm so glad y'all liked the Frey Ranch. I don't live that far from there and was so excited for the release. Also Daniel... Hearing you butcher Nevada over and over again was like multiple stab wounds in my chest.
My wife and I live in Nevada and to listen to the butchery of our stats name is actually painful…..but yeah Frey ranch is really good, honestly better then some other offering from the state.
Newly minted magnificent bastard here.... I can't believe you guy's got Frey Ranch, it's a bottle I've been trying to send for the last few weeks.. I scoured the patreon and whiskey vault website for any info to send a bottle to you guys and have come up short. Really glad you guys enjoyed it, a true sleeper out of northern Nevada.
Frey Ranch is amazing stuff...as I live here in Nevada and have for 45 years, I had to try a local product. Phenomenal stuff...dying to try their rye as it is just coming to market...wanted to send one to you guys but someone else already took care of that
I took my wife out for a steak dinner a few nights ago just after watching one of your scotch videos for the first time. I decided to have the most expensive drink on the list. Lagavulin 16... I had no idea what I was getting into but it was amazing. I loved it. You two have created another whiskey convert. By the way, my wife loved it too :)
It‘s awesome that you went for it and tried it. I‘m glad, you too enjoied it and had a great experience. Have a Good time trying out new Whiskies together! All the best and cheers to two new fellow Whisky enthusiasts!
I’ve been watching y’all for around 2 years now and I love how just over time you all have become advocates for small whiskey distilleries. Thank you for standing up for the small guys (yes including Daniel).
Greg Vangsness here. Rex Williams is using big words yet again! Australian ones at that! Me thinks he is not only a word smith, but a poet at heart, (under a layer of: 'I care little of the opinions of others, ' ... though really I do) as well. Today's word is petrichor: The fresh aroma after a summer downpour is one of life's pleasing scents. The earthy fragrance was named petrichor by Australian researchers in 1964. They described it as a combination of plant oils and the chemical compound geosmin which are released from the soil when it rains. Cheers Rex and Daniel. I salute you from afar.
I think and I think everyone might agree; you have the best job in the world, Whisk(e)y, free Whisk(e)y, talking about Whisk(e)y, tasting Whisk(e)y , mooching Whisk(e)y and mooching Whisk(e)y
Guys, honored.... Sent the Old Farm for the sake of the funk. It would be hard to imagine anything that could taste more like the land of "The Old Farm!" Would guess they went deep in the tails...
Garret, its gawd awful, I have a bottle. Deep into the tails is an understatement, Im surprised it isn’t cloudy. Liberty Pole in Washington PA does a new make that is actually good if young whiskey is something you are intrigued by. I thought of sending them a bottle but it would have been my first and I just couldn’t do it...
Gotta thank you guys. I just watched some people drink a nice 18 year old scotch over ice, stared to get offended. The thought, “Whiskey the way you like it”, in your voices. Instantly felt better. Next though, I’m damn happy to be apart of this tribe. Cheers y’all.
Hey dudes, was just wondering if you ever got frustrated for losing a certain smell while nosing? For example, I have been drinking a bottle of Jim beam double oak and got a really strong yeast/bread smell I really liked, and now all I smell is maple syrup and caramel.
Greg Vangsness here ... again. Send Daniel to "knife skills 101!" I wonder at the fact that he has no prominent scars visible; AND that Rex doesn't comment on the dangers of standing close by when Daniel has cutlery in his hand!
I started watching these guys because I work in a liquor store that sells alot of good booze and I wanted to be conversant in the whole thing...but beyond that these guys are fun and the content is fun and these guys have some star quality to them.
The Navy's Top Gun air station (Naval Air Station Fallon) is 2 miles south of town. The bourbon and their rye is for sale in every store/gas station within 70 miles at $45 a bottle..
I picked up a bottle of the Frey Ranch yesterday. I live in Sacramento California and we have an embarrassment of riches for whiskey here. Grabbed it off the shelf for about 50.00
We must push for Daniel & Rex to testify before Congress against these antiquated liquor laws. Plus, we might find if Daniel actually has anything other than black t-shirts. And Rex has to be dressed in full Dark Mooch attire.
Hey to you and the grey one, been watching you guys for a while now and I've taken multiple lesson from the experience, the top two however are i get way more enjoyment out of drinking three or more whiskeys side by side than one at a time and two when trying to give my liver a break dont watch you guys because its like watching cookery programes about bbq and trying to diet at the same time
Have you guys seen tattersal rye whiskey in texas before? They just started distributing there last year. One of the best rye whiskeys I have had, although very sweet. Very well priced.
Rex is nuanced! so if you both were bottles of Whisk(e)y what bottles of Whisk(e)y would you be? due to bottle shape, colour, bottle title and taste Daniel = Dimple short and stocky Rex = Grants / Glenfiddich (due to bottle shape; however Rex has lost weight recently, well done)
Its 4 a.m in Tokyo.. and i am watching your channel... I just watched an episode you reviewing Auchentoshan with a comment from somebody that 'This channel is Evil' and it is 😈 . I am also now on a collection spree and the latest interest being compass box. However i have not spent $2000 but moving fast. Please suggest some more independent distillers/bottlers like compass box's calibre.
Even if you could recommend it, and even if they could ship it...we could not receive it in my medieval state with their prohibition era laws. Perfect.
Oban 14 on deck letz go! What was both Count Rex of IceLordia & ‘ Daniel Viscount of Sommelierion, first hear Magnificent Bastard? Am I the only one who immediately thinks Mystery Sciency Theater 3000 (“You magnificent bastard, I read your book!”-Crow. T Robot riffing the character (not general) Rommel being told “I never met a general before!” from“Sidehackers” episode? Or just cultural osmosis or the original movie?)
Kinda bummed that they burned out their pallettes on the ryes, that Glacier 45 actually has a really unique flavor for me...pumpkin pie spice amd almost like a nutmeg. Dont understand the "smarties" note whatsoever.
Rex: "Just breathe in my face!" Contrast this to like 2 months ago when you guys were afraid to be filmed in the same room together because of some zombie plague.
Holy crap! He remembered his knife!
I'm so glad y'all liked the Frey Ranch. I don't live that far from there and was so excited for the release. Also Daniel... Hearing you butcher Nevada over and over again was like multiple stab wounds in my chest.
Just got a bottle for my birthday and tried it last night. I agree!
My wife and I live in Nevada and to listen to the butchery of our stats name is actually painful…..but yeah Frey ranch is really good, honestly better then some other offering from the state.
@@Enid2Sacramento The Uncut makes the standard bourbon seem tame. It is SO GOOD.

Excellent choice

Cheers Rex and Daniel. I salute you from afar.
Just picked up a bottle of the Frey Ranch, local Total Wine had it, it's amazing. And no joke, that cork top is lethal.
Just got two bottles last night...they've adopted synthetic corks. The heavy bolt top is pretty cool too.
Hold the phone!!!! Did I just see Daniel pull out a pocket knife? Holy crap! You can teach old dogs new tricks!

Rare whiskey friday is my best part of the work day
I look forward to this show every morning. I get a little disappointed that there's not a video on the weekends.
Do you follow their other channel, Whiskey Tribe? Videos every Saturday, with shenanigans!
It’s funny that sometimes the subtitle reads “whiskey balls” in place if “whiskey vault”! 😂
They said small business is the backbone of USA. What I heard was getting all the whiskey delivered to your house is the backbone of the USA.
Greetings, you two are as subtle as a brick through a window.
As they should be.
Geography Alert: the Sierra Nevada are not in the Rockies.
Guys, honored.... Sent the Old Farm for the sake of the funk. It would be hard to imagine anything that could taste more like the land of "The Old Farm!" Would guess they went deep in the tails...
Congrats on your sainthood fellow Garret(t). Well done sir!
Garrett W Thank you most kind.

I live in northern Nevada and Frey ranch is my go to bourbon. Glad you reviewed it.
The Sierra Nevada Watershed is actually off the Eastern Slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountains which are in California.
Gotta thank you guys. I just watched some people drink a nice 18 year old scotch over ice, stared to get offended. The thought, “Whiskey the way you like it”, in your voices. Instantly felt better. Next though, I’m damn happy to be apart of this tribe. Cheers y’all.
Rare Whiskey Fridays should just be renamed Craft Whiskey Fridays because that's basically what it is lol
That might be an older bottle of Frey. I got recent ones and they're synthetic cork
Another great video with just the right amount of ball breaking.
That is the most incredible collection, so impressive.
Rye whiskey... Nectar of the gods.
Rye-day Friday - celestial holiday...
Amen
Frey Ranch vs. the Alabama bourbon? I must know which is better.
Heck, here in Oklahoma we'd settle for being able to order and ship whiskies from retailers!
Hey dudes, was just wondering if you ever got frustrated for losing a certain smell while nosing? For example, I have been drinking a bottle of Jim beam double oak and got a really strong yeast/bread smell I really liked, and now all I smell is maple syrup and caramel.
All four of these sounded very promising.
I've lived in oregon my whole life. I didn't know I had been sniffing wrong for my region. Consider me course-corrected. 😋
Too many interesting whiskies out there in the world... 🧐
I live in bend Oregon these guys make all sorts of good stuff...the gin is sick!!
The "do it" sounded exactly like the guy from "sous vide everything" channel, he always says "let's do it" but close enough.
Whiskey tribe 2024.
Do it.
I'm digging the bottle slap animations
Greg Vangsness here ... again.
Send Daniel to "knife skills 101!" I wonder at the fact that he has no prominent scars visible; AND that Rex doesn't comment on the dangers of standing close by when Daniel has cutlery in his hand!
There are loooooots of ranches on *Nev-ada.* No ideal what a Ne-vah-dah is.
For most of human history, the farmers' line was "we've grown stuff, and if we don't turn it into alcohol, it'll rot, and we'll die."
I started watching these guys because I work in a liquor store that sells alot of good booze and I wanted to be conversant in the whole thing...but beyond that these guys are fun and the content is fun and these guys have some star quality to them.

It says "distilled from grain" for the exact same reason Weller's label says it's "aged in wood".
Frey Ranch is making its way to me!
We must push for Daniel & Rex to testify before Congress against these antiquated liquor laws. Plus, we might find if Daniel actually has anything other than black t-shirts. And Rex has to be dressed in full Dark Mooch attire.

I found Frey Ranch at Costco and had to buy it to support a Nevada distillery. Love it and have a glass right now.
The look on Rex’s face looking at all his glasses lined up! Haha. Great one as always fellas!
I love this episode because of the very Not Strong Opinion part.
Rare Whiskey Friday, Fresh Crack Friday....so many things to do on Friday. I'm not complaining, mind you.....
Eyyyy Ware Fhiskey Rhiday.
Have you guys seen tattersal rye whiskey in texas before? They just started distributing there last year. One of the best rye whiskeys I have had, although very sweet. Very well priced.
Quit voting party and vote 'em all out.
Is nose air a valid nosing point. ?
Daniel's nose air is a level 3 nosing point
Amen, Rex. Glad you don't have an opinion!
Good Morning Gentlemen!
Mornin' 🍺(´ ∀ ` )❤️
Indeed, Good morning to you as well, kind sir!
I just picked up Frey's Ranch not 20 minutes ago. I'll let y'all know how it turns out.
...so any time now?? 😊
As an Overholser I really want to try the Old Farm. As a whiskey enthusiast I am not going to rush.
They make the gnarliest cheapest most swill vodka and it's funny that they make a whiskey that is note worthy, drinkable, and in the vault
I call Greg Abbott every week.
Every comment on this video should be talking about that!!!
I just ordered that last whiskey! I am very excited!
Frey ranch makes a rye to, have you guys tried it? Lol I can send it to you. I live there.
Rex is nuanced! so if you both were bottles of Whisk(e)y what bottles of Whisk(e)y would you be? due to bottle shape, colour, bottle title and taste
Daniel = Dimple short and stocky
Rex = Grants / Glenfiddich (due to bottle shape; however Rex has lost weight recently, well done)
Visiting Frey Ranch tomorrow. 60 miles from me.

Navada=Mustang Ranch. It's a nice ranch you should visit sometime.
Best Ranch in Nevada 😉
Do you guys drink anything else besides whiskey? Just curious lol
Up north, Nevada has some good cattle country.
Gonna ask again, how do I become a MB and send a bottle?
OMG it might as well be in my own backyard, getting my Oregonian azz some of that! have liked rye gotta try tyvm.
You, too, eh?
Is Buffalo Trace not on the wall!!?!?
Rex, you are very subtle !!
“Except for laws” 🤦🏻♂️
‘Merica!
Whooah Whooah politics and Whisk(e)y, what! Four bottles in one rare Whisk(e)y Fri might be toooo much!
Even if you could recommend it, and even if they could ship it...we could not receive it in my medieval state with their prohibition era laws. Perfect.
Woot... more reviews... watching now...
I am glad this round is better than last... That Crater Lake Reserve is wonderful! Thanks again guys.
We're gonna have to rename this channel The Oregon Whiskey Vault. We make so much great whiskey up here!
Wanderback!!
The next time Daniel messes up RWF intro REX WEEK!!!!
Ehrmagerd, something on RWF I might actually be able to get. My local store (Rainier, Oregon) has the Crater Lake brand.
What makes the peppery tastes in rye?
Lake Tahoe is half Nevada
What kind of monster drinks from a water bottle like that?!?!
So disappointed in you two.
Nevada is very well known for its ranching, especially chicken ranching...😃😃😃
Scott Pysher
you forgot the bunnies aww lol
LOL I really wish I could crack the code on how Rex feels 🤣
Like an angry, drunk, hippy, led zeppelin loving, frolicking walrus.
Why do we not get a *Rare Daniel* in these Rare Whiskey Friday videos?
Try Smoke Wagon Bourbon out of Las Vegas!
MGP high rye bourbon, aged and blended in Las Vegas,.... great stuff, my newest favorite.
The price is pretty good too!
"You're subtle and nuanced" LOL. So FREY RANCH is the one that stands out. How can I get it in the UK?
U cant !!!!! Haha (SORRY)
@@mossyshotgun5902 SAY IT ISN'T SO!!! I'm sure they could export one over and I'll help them break into the UK market
It is only available in Nevada and California right now...
Cosmic Bunghole!!!
Rex: not that I have a strong opinion...
Rex (internally): *bleep bleep* stupid *bleep* backwards laws can eat a pile of *bleep*

WHISKIES OF THE RARE VARIETY
Kinda bummed that they burned out their pallettes on the ryes, that Glacier 45 actually has a really unique flavor for me...pumpkin pie spice amd almost like a nutmeg. Dont understand the "smarties" note whatsoever.
If I can have bottles sent to by mail my bar would be 3 times bigger lol.
G'Day folks!!
Has anyone heard of Dusty Barn Distillery? They also do field to bottle.
Tucker Car Films didn‘t they Feature and Show one of their products in one of the Whisky Vault Episodes, or does my memory fool me?
Bartleby Achilles if they did I would love to see it!
Rex: "Just breathe in my face!" Contrast this to like 2 months ago when you guys were afraid to be filmed in the same room together because of some zombie plague.
You can get the Frey Ranch on BountyHunter Wine. 55 bucks
If you can find it, Crater Lake's Espresso Vodka is worth a try.
Rex starts the video with some head starts next to the stand. Just in case he doesn't like the Rare Whiskeys?
Rex such a nuanced speaker while Daniel talks out his a$$ lol
