To me it seems that to join the Ohio State Marching Band is almost the same as joining the United States Marines; once you've served, you are always a member. Semper Fi and GO BUCKEYES!
You must be mistaken, they have a new halftime show every week, it is never the same. Bowl games I will say are a bit different though, they play something like a pregame for that halftime.
@bandgeekscreamer That's because Ohio State's school songs are good enough that people actually want to hear them every game unlike ou's. Well if you're military style, you might as well be the best at it. Not try to be some kind of hybrid show band like ou. And OSU band members can funnel their excitement into their performance instead of rolling around on the ground and complaining that they can't hug anyone for fear of getting their uniform "dirty" like ou.
The band plays a hell of a lot more than that, they only play the fight song, script, and sloopy for pregame. They have a limited plan for pregame just like every other college band. Their halftime show, however, changes every single week.
Great to know. Now excuse me. This "pitiful excuse for a human being" has a game to watch tomorrow. And I'm not letting some grumpy old man get in my way. Have a great life "sir".
@jibucks lol.. no.. all they do in this entrance is spell ohio.. they aren't even ohio, they are ohio state. ohio university has a whole pregame SHOW they play multiple songs.. not just the fight song and alma mater... ohio state is too military style.. they look like they have to be there.. not like they WANT to be there... marching 110 > ohio state... nuff said
just cuz they're called "the best damn band in the land" doesn't mean they are exciting... Ohio University Marching 110 on the other hand... 110% more exciting than this boring band

Go to a game and listen to the clapping in person before you criticize. They are clapping in time to the drum line.

If all of these Big Ten bands claim to be "so great" why is everything at the same tempo with the same percussion parts and a few keys?
