Loved Ghost Town❤ Used to go every summer. Us kids would ride the chairlift and the adults would ride the train up to the top. Then we’d drive across Soco Mountain over to Cherokee, NC. I’d love to see it❤

I saw where they finished #50 today and have been bringing them to North Carolina as they were being built free of charge. The homes are 8 x 16. Anyway I thought I would mention it to you and let others know of Randy's kindness. He is the owner/ operator of ITH.

Loved that place, it was in the early 70s. The gunfights were so amazing for me, I think I was 11 or 12, the last time I was there, with my grandparents. It was special.

we stayed right on that creek in one of the old motel's til we rented a house for a year, it was so peaceful and lovely......2006 love the appalachia, went to Dillsboro for christmas they had bonfires, it is a lovely memory of wnc.......blessings John, be well
i was 7 when ghost town opened in 1962. wlos tv 13 plugged ghost town from mr bill cartoons am show and thru the day. bob caldwell did some of wlos tv ads also.my first 11 yrs was in haywood county,canton. got to ghost town when i was 15in 1970. memories yes. hope your toy give away goes great and gets in the hands of young parents in need.
Being from Florida, Maggie Valley was a yearly stop when we were kids. When I had kids we took them there also back in the 70's. Lots of family memories made at that place!
I remember autocrossing in that parking lot. The first time I ever drove a Subaru STI.... And enjoyed every second in my little Impreza OBS. Same weather conditions.... Brought back wonderful memories.....❤
We absolutely love Maggie Valley! The Maggie Valley Carpet Golf down the street from Ghost Town was damaged during Helene. You would love it there! He is an antique store also!!! Such a beautiful area!! ❤❤❤❤ Popcorn Suttons hometown!

I left N.C. 5 years after graduating high school , and would like to visit Maggie Valley . Driving to Durham from Memphis is 13 hours , and I had to save my time and energy on I - 40 dealing with crossing those pesky switchbacks and headlights on my tail in the dark over the Appalachian Mts. , after passing Knoxville and into Asheville ; and then coming back on the flip - flop . Merry Christmas and Many More Happy Memories for you and your family ! I hope you enjoy your Holiday !

Have place less then a mile from ghost town. Roller coaster visible from front. One of the partner owners of ghost town recently passed. Not sure what the plans are but maybe they’ll do something like it was.

I enjoyed seeing this so much when I was a little girl before I was nine years old. My mom and dad took me up to Ghost Town and we saw the fight with the Cowboys up there and everything. It was so cool back then he brought back some good memories. I’m now 73 so looking at that is really joyful thank you.
Oh how well I remember that place…my parents took us there when me and my brother was growing up. Talk about impressive….brings back good memories ❤ all great memories too

The creek you just mentioned was way out of its banks as you will learn as you visit with those in Maggie Valley who live here all the time. Hi everyone. Yesterday I turned 63. Ghost town is the right place I rode on a chair lift. I was like 12. So 51 years ago. I was scared to deaf. I said to myself all the way up. If this thing breaks we will die. Then look at my 6 yr. Old cousin. And say we will be ok. God won't let us fall. I had never seen anything like that. Didn't know anything about a lift. Coming down wasn't so bad. But thank you for the memories. Anyone that prays. Well you please remember me. I got up this morning and twisted my ankle and fell. It's swollen and of course it's another thing that is hurting. Peace love and blessings to everyone

You are so right on what a jewel Maggie Valley is. My wife and I have stayed at a couple of different small motels there and the experience was so rewarding and memorable. As a kid my parents took us to ghost town many many times. I took my kids in 1993. That was the last time we ever went. What a wonderful family fun place it was. John you should try Butts on the River Barbecue there. We tried it when we were in Maggie Valley last year. And it was very good. I think that's the name of it anyways.
I remember that place I never got to go but my mom showed me pics her and my dad used to they had dancing girls looked like alot of fun I wished they would open it back up I used to go to silver dollar city too our school used to take trips there I love walking through the old mine but they have it shut off now please be safe and careful
I too have awesome memories as a child in the 60s going there. Wow. It was amazing and fun. My heart belongs to those mountains. I've cried so many tears watching the devastation knowing there is nothing i can do to help. But i have donated, that's what i could do. 💔💔💔 Merry Christmas John!!! Your an amazing soul! 💞💞
Thank you for all you have helped to bring awareness to the needs of people here, I remember visiting here, there used to be a chairlift and a cable car that took us to the top of the mountain , we had cousins who grew up around here, they wouldn't go up there!

Most of those creekside motels took a severe beating from Helene. Some will not reopen. Other than that, MV did better than their next door neighbors.

I sold framed art too, I sold the sports art Univerity of Tn , AL limited edition prints framed in 98 when Tn won the Nat Championship , I sold a train load of Doug Hess Nat Champ Print .
As a kid my parents took us to ghost town many many times. I took my kids in 1993. That was the last time we ever went. What a wonderful family fun place it was. John you should try Butts on the River Barbecue there. We tried it when we were in Maggie Valley last year. And it was very good. I think that's the name of it anyways.

We vacation in MV every year. Took my daughter to GT in the early 80’s. 😊

I remember that place I never got to go but my mom showed me pics her and my dad used to they had dancing girls looked like alot of fun I wished they would open it back up I used to go to silver dollar city too our school used to take trips there I love walking through the old mine but they have it shut off now please be safe and careful

I too have awesome memories as a child in the 60s going there. Wow. It was amazing and fun. My heart belongs to those mountains. I've cried so many tears watching the devastation knowing there is nothing i can do to help. But i have donated, that's what i could do. 💔💔💔 Merry Christmas John!!! Your an amazing soul! 💞💞
That was such a special time, I remember those days too!
Thank you for all you have helped to bring awareness to the needs of people here, I remember visiting here, there used to be a chairlift and a cable car that took us to the top of the mountain , we had cousins who grew up around here, they wouldn't go up there!
