This message is for the dad, man I've been there and it's hard to let other people provide for you and your family, it's somewhat embarrassing but you have to look at it from another perspective, #1: people want to help so right now take it, take all the help you can for the good of your family. #2 when you get back on your feet, (and you will) pay it forward, give back to another family in the future, it may be weeks or it may be years, God will put you in a position to help someone when the time is right. He has no reason to feel embarrassed but this should have been done in secret not videoed to be seen about what was given. At least that's what the Bible says do your giving privately instead of seeking praise for what your doing
He also is probably one that is used to taking care of everyone else, being able to do for others that need it, and having those roles reversed is a very awkward place to find oneself when you have been the above person for so long. You feel guilty, like you have failed, and it's hard to be on the end of depending on others. It's not there you don't appreciate it, it's just hard to see others that need so much and the one that's usually helping is struggling to hello their own family now. It's hard to explain, but there is so many emotions that one is having to deal with especially during a tragedy of epic proportions, such as this. I'm sure he's not comfortable being in camera and the feeling of relief he's also having to finally have a place to live that's not a tent. I can only imagine what it's like having my home, all my belongings, my vehicles, everything wiped out suddenly in less than a few hours. He had that, as did his wife and children all at once. It's one of the hardest things things I would think short of losing one of your family in top of all else to have to deal with and it all hit at one time. When he's alone with his wife, I can see him breaking down, but he won't do it in front of a camera or others, especially his children. On that note, I saw him in the background talking to a man that was showing him all the ins/outs of how to take care of the things that's needed on the outside of the camper and he was talking and interacting. Then, when he was looking at his truck, that they had just pulled out of the muck completely destroyed and has is seeing the damage done to his truck for the first time. Can you imagine how surreal of a site that is to see. You can how hard he worked for what he had and it's all gone. Did you see the excitement of finding a box he made for his wife and here response? I'm sure it feels like they are living in a nightmare and trying to find anything recognizable of their past. He's trying to laugh and trying to put on a brave face, but you can tell there are so many different things going on within him. I've seen this occur with so many on different levels. They are good ppl.
It is very difficult to accept help when you’ve been the bread winner. He’s still trying to process this whole disaster. I’m praying that he will find a job helping others now that his family has a better living situation. The kids will be more resilient, and the mom will feel better having a a safer place for them all to sleep & eat. ❤🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️
What a God send this woman is, and her husband. She is such a thoughtful person and left this camper, she is gifting to this beautiful family, with all of the essentials and amenities needed. ❤🙏😊❤🙏
I feel this Beautiful woman is feeling Blessed to Give and the Family is feeling blessed to Receive. God's hand is felt on both sides. Please God shine your Grace and Love on both these Families.
Oh Shit, John. I apologize to anybody reading this, but if you go the last 5 or 6 minutes of the video, then will probably understand and feel as I feel. Dear Lord, you own everything. Yet you choose to show your kindness on whom you will. Lord bless this family with wisdom and humility. And May they in turn serve others as you have served them. In Jesus precious name, Amen
If the government worked as well as private organizations and individual citizens there would be no grief when recovering from a disaster as large as this one! Thanking God we have a country full of citizens who care about each other! God Bless this family and their future and God Bless you John for being the person who cares enough to work this hard for the people of Appalachia!
This disaster has called me to take my first step in helping our community so I am donating time to a local charity. Just started yesterday and met some wonderful people. I plan on donating one day a week to start. Everyone can do something. Our elderly donate so much time but younger folks need to jump in too. 🙏 The husband/father must feel honored and hold his head high. There is no shame in accepting the love bestowed upon him. God made this happen for a reason. Embrace it and be strong.
The Blankenships donated not only the camper, but amenities to make it more livable and explanation of it's use. Such generosity will be repaid. John Ward, thank you for high lighting this family so they could get timely needed help. Loved seeing how happy the children were with the coats.
This is what America is really about. That’s why so many are wanting to get into our country. The church (made up of caring, compassionate people) is coming forward to meet the needs of the truly needy.
Seeing the beauty, love, and generosity of the American people and those who may be from other countries and seeing this family get out of that tent was the best Christmas present many people will get a chance to view. Tears of joy was rolling down my face. God is good.
I too am crying tears of joy that this beautiful family is finally out of a tent and into a nice camper home. John has come thru again. God knew what he was doing when he sent him to record this. He's such a kind, caring man and just what's needed during this disaster. Congrats to the recipients of this family's generosity. Hopefully this is just the beginning of your rebuild. Love from CT.

This family has been so traumatized 😢 and so grateful to be out of a tent. What a blessing they are all together. God bless all those who made this all possible 🙏♥️
Thank you John Ward for taking this man to effectively pay his last respects for his charcoal gray, 2007, V10 Dodge pick up truck. Yes you got some video but my gut feeling is that this little excursion along side of the road was very important for this man but also the rest of the family including the kids.
Part of my family just came home to SC from a ski resort in this area. There are miles and miles of trash and debris on the side of the roads. I talked to a lady today at a restaurant and she told me they found 5 bodies at the end of her driveway once the storm was over. These people have been through a devastating and very unexpected situation. They're in shock. The lady told me a lot of them are terrified every time they get a heavy rain. This is less than 3 months ago and they experienced major trauma from that storm. It is indescribable and seeing it on camera does not show adequately how much damage was done to anyone in the path of the mud slides and raging water.
Finding that box, that he had given his wife, that had that single match for their wedding unity candle, YHWH had His hand in that find. Thankyou Father. 🙏

A lot of these people, including this gentleman, are dealing with PTSD & may not even realize it. Then there's the fact of pride & wanting to provide for his family & not being able to. He is humbled. It's going to take time for him to be ok.
@@terrisatterfield6765 As a surviver of a hurricane that took my home, I can speak from personal experience. That man is in shock. It takes a VERY long time to recover from a catastrophe that takes everything from you. You are NEVER the same. When you are left with nothing but your lives and the clothes on your back, it irrevocably changes you! That poor family has spent months living like refugees in the richest country in the world. Add in learning firsthand that your own government has screwed you. The trauma of the event, the complete loss of everything you've ever worked for and then having to start over - it truly IS enough to shake you to the core. That poor man is simply trying to get through and move forward without being on camera. I understand. Not everyone wishes to be all over the internet. PRAY for him instead of judging him. Then PRAY for everyone else who is going through this, because there ARE SO MANY who remain without any hope in this situation all across NC, TN, GA and FL. My heart breaks for them every day because I STILL know people who have never recovered from hurricane Sandy - financially, emotionally, or mentally. Our gov, feeeee ma and insurance Cos are an absolute farse and a joke. Thank you to all who are making recovery for this family possible. And no matter who you are - do NOT stop praying for those suffering and in need, and against evil!
Another note to the father, accept the gifts given by random people and do not rob them of a blessing. People only give when and if they want to. Love your family and hold your children a little closer. GOD BLESS

The family that gave the camper with all the thoughtful items...is worth way more than 20,000 in my humble opinion. Her heart is huge!! Her church gave, her neighbor and look at all their time putting it all together. What a huge BLESSING!!! Father God, your word says you provide all our needs & this is exceedingly abundantly above ~ I hope this family writes thank you notes to all those that gave checks. And to the camper giver. Clearly, many people from all over America & from other countries, not just "Appalachian Americans", have given their heartfelt help to those in need. I think it's important to realize that people outside of our own communities are important too both in receiving & accepting our help when needed. 🕊️🌎💚

❤ God bless these folks, God bless you John. I’m not usually an emotional person, but this kind of stuff breaks me down and when Helene happened that happens more when I see people come together like this
I see/hear a lot of folk bashing the notion of "thoughts and prayers". Well, this is the result of such thoughts and prayers. If someone thinks this is hogwash, then they don't really understand what "thoughts and prayers" actually means. I saw it in action when in Erwin, Tennessee; I saw the generosity of strangers providing for those who lost everything. Many in their own way; quite a few rather magnanimously. This is what good folk do, each in their own way. Untold numbers of folk from across the nation (and abroad) heeded the call and showed up with their thoughts and prayers.

Lady in red! What a Saint!
Amen to that prayer.

If the government worked as well as private organizations and individual citizens there would be no grief when recovering from a disaster as large as this one! Thanking God we have a country full of citizens who care about each other! God Bless this family and their future and God Bless you John for being the person who cares enough to work this hard for the people of Appalachia!
Unfortunately not about the ppl and about their bottom line, never ever count on them only yourself
And god of course
Our government is full of greed, they could never have the heart of a servant.
The government is not full of Godly people like those of us who live in the mountains. Unfortunately for some folks, money is God.
We truly have such wonderful loving folks here in America.
Can’t beat this ever , it’s a beautiful blessing 😊
Been Through the storms, but What A Blessing God's People Taking Care Of Each Other,I'm Hugging & Loving Each of you,Crying With JOY,the JOY On this Family's Faces Priceless
I am sending a BIG THANK YOU to everyone that helped all the Helene victims & a Merry Christmas to all.
God Bless you and may you have a Merry Christmas! What state do you call home? John Ward
@theappalachianchannel I grew up in southern Virginia, but now live in North Carolina 30 minutes north of Durham,NC.
I agree.. exprcially finding that little box from the wedding. Those little momentos mean so much
@@1976mcfarlane I didn't see if he took the tag off his truck, that will be one to keep for memories...
Jake is a beautiful human soul
I only discovered his channel during HELENE
Now I watch his podcasts and Olivia’s on a daily basis! #WNC #Helene #theappalachianchannel #thechroniclesofolivia
God bless everyone that has helped and God bless this family! ❤❤
There is a seat in heaven for Jake, his heart has no limits! God bless all, and thank you John, keep up the good reporting, we want to know!
I’m so happy for this family they will be out of the cold praise God and thanks to the people who made this happen God is good
John, this is absolutely amazing how people came together to help this sweet family. I was in tears by the time your video came to an end. God bless you, John, for all you have done and are still doing for others, 🙏❤️
Definitely TEARS of JOY. Love it, John.
I was also crying happy tears ❤❤
I agree, I’m just sorry for those who have taken advantage of John good heart. Those people need to be accounted for in their bad endeavors towards others.
@@sandradummer4726 This is the 1st video I've seen of John helping ppl & I'm glad this showed up. Who took advantage of John, if U don't mind me asking. So heart warming for this family
That oldest child is so smart!
God watch over and continue to provide for all of those affected.. 🙏
Agree > "That oldest child is so smart!" AND > Intuitive! God Bless you all.
Everyone needs help at some point in life.. nothing to be ashamed about... Received it as a blessing.. 🙏
I love this. When my grandma died, our church brought us beautiful hand made quilts. I’ll never forget it.
This mother is totally overwhelmed. I had four children myself and I can’t imagine how hard it has been on this family since the storm. God bless all of you who are helping this family get back some of what they lost. You are a God-Send.
I'm bawling like a baby because this is proof their are still good people ❤❤❤ Thank you Abba Father ❤
At the end it appeared dad was overwhelmed n crying! Having been thru so much, losing everything n for people to help is overwhelming! They will remember this as will the kids too n in time will pay it forward! You never forget what people hv done for you in your time of need!
The healing begins❤
This is extraordinary. I am so happy for this family. all the people that suffered from the hurricane and lost so much deserve so much. It brings back. Hope to humanity. God is good.
What a wonderful blessing for this sweet family. I know they are so grateful to be out of that tent. Thank you to everyone who donated.
John, This made me cry for this Family.
God bless you all.
Thank you Habitat for Humanity of Rutherford County and of course all the people who support you in your work.
The joy in that mama’s eyes says it all! God bless the family that donated this camper! I caught myself smiling so big watching this. This is what it’s all about! ❤

2nd time I've seen him. He acted same way 1st time. I'm not sure what ti make of him
A lot of these people, including this gentleman, are dealing with PTSD & may not even realize it.
@@virginiawilliams7282 I will back away. I do not know the man or pretend to know what he is thinking
Another note to the father, accept the gifts given by random people and do not rob them of a blessing. People only give when and if they want to. Love your family and hold your children a little closer. GOD BLESS
Thanks for watching The Appalachian Channel with John Ward
I cry as I watch this. The generosity of Gods people is a Blessing I’m so happy to see this family moving forward in their lives!!! ❤🥰🥰People helping each other is how God shows his love!!🥰🥰❤️❤️
Me too!! Happy tears!! And loved the fact that the lady left bowls that were a wedding gift to this family. 💞
I often tear-up when John gets emotional! He touched my heart 💔 Whst a true gentleman! Now if I could find a man like him or my dad ‘Papy’ I’d be grateful.. ;)
The family that gave the camper with all the thoughtful items...is worth way more than 20,000 in my humble opinion. Her heart is huge!! Her church gave, her neighbor and look at all their time putting it all together. What a huge BLESSING!!!
Father God, your word says you provide all our needs & this is exceedingly abundantly above ~
I hope this family writes thank you notes to all those that gave checks. And to the camper giver.
The truck was a huge blessing. I hope they all receive from God tremendous blessing in return!!
Thats what america is all about , taking care of others and helping each other , God Bless each and every one

Thank you to those precious people who donated and God bless this sweet family with warmth from those cold, cold winter season. Thank you John for sharing, God truly is so good.

He loved his truck like we all men do. Can't be easy and has to be so overwhelming. God bless them and hope nothing but the best for the family.

i am so happy seeing victims get help from neighbours yea yea ty ty So lovely to see this family made that disaster
For most folks it is much harder to receive than to give. Just know that you really let people be happy by receiving their gifts. Hearts get healed on both sides of the equation.❤❤
God Bless the family who donated the 5th wheel . God Bless this family and everyone that is helping and has donated ❤
I'm just crying through this entire video. I lost it when the kids were being so cute and playing on the gravel like typical kids. That pile would be too tempting. Lol.
I'm so happy to see these folks get out of the tent!! ... I can't imagine what that mama was going through trying to homeschool ,cook and raise kids in this cold weather. Soooo happy to see this 🙏🙏🙏
God bless those folks who donated that beautiful camper. John, you're an Earth Angel. This is amazing what you've been able to accomplish for these folks. You're using your heart and your platform in the best way. ( Olivia too)

John, thanks to you and your work, you are giving this family a new start. God Bless You and God Bless the victims of Helene!
Clearly, many people from all over America & from other countries, not just "Appalachian Americans", have given their heartfelt help to those in need. I think it's important to realize that people outside of our own communities are important too both in receiving & accepting our help when needed. 🕊️🌎💚
I'm sorry the dad looks really downtrodden like ashamed people had to help. Man put your head up and high in the sky!!!!! We love your family.❤❤❤
How wonderful! This dark haired woman is giving this fully stocked rv to this fami.y. God please bless her. What a nice roomy RV. It's truly a life and death move especially for the chi, dren. Congratulations cute family!

❤ God bless these folks, God bless you John. I’m not usually an emotional person, but this kind of stuff breaks me down and when Helene happened that happens more when I see people come together like this
Amen.. Hallelujah..ALL GLORY TO GOD 🙏
❤❤❤❤
Very well said
Yes!!! I think of all these folks throughout the day, and when I go to bed, I say a final special prayer for them all! ♥️🙏

I don’t know why I cry each and every video that I watch. My heart is so broken for the people who are displaced and everybody has such a great attitude. Nobody complains. All they do is thank God for being alive. I agree with them, but it still breaks my heart to watch it on video. I pray for all of her struggling people and victims and missing, and people who have passed from this treacherous Huricane.
