- So in this video I'm resurrecting this 1961 Omega Seamaster. Some of the issues include not running nor winding, scratched/marked case and glass. Missing tube and unoriginal crown, missing paint on the hands and a pretty worn dial. We also later find a broken setting lever spring during the strip down.

great! you find new spare part for the broken or you just find it from donor movement?
Mostly I would say donor movements
I'm not a big fan of music during watch restoration videos, but your close up photography is very good.
So how well did it go on the time grapher, also after having given the case all the good work why did you not give the dial a bit of a clean up. We enjoy watching your skills but you leave us at about 95% complete.
Excellent video, thanks for this..
Did you consider a dial restoration for this watch?
I was heavily considering it and was even looking out for a replacement dial.
Great job, shame bout dial. 👍
@@natecharleswatches Are there ways to clean the dial at this point ?
Is the Omega Seamaster dial especially vulnerable and prone to get only worse by cleaning attempts? I have a similar Seamaster from the same era, dial and condition. I've noticed that the many watchmakers restoring vintage Seamasters usually keep out from even touching the dial even if it was growing moss. ; )
How do I know the date and authenticity of my Dad's Seamaster?
You made it look easy lol, brilliant work
You can’t clean the face on the omega watch and why?
There is nothing more beautiful than an Omega movement.
I do have a soft spot for them

Time for a new bench mat?
This one is stuck down but could always get another one to go on top I suppose
Cleaning, oiling, and buffing, and let the dial stay dirty, brilliant.
Not much you can do with a dial like this, pitted and stained. Not like it's just some surface dirt that water will remove. You risk making it worse trying to "clean" it. Probably needs a completely new dial, not cheap or easily available. And completely re-painting the dial etc is a big job and to many it reduces the watches value.
Way too much oil on the spring...
Le cadran n’est pas nettoyé ?
Those old painted dials are VERY fragile and almost impossible to clean more than a little water and extremely light wiping with a cotton swab allows. Perhaps Nate Charles could've been more brave, but what if he'd spoiled the dial in the process?
