The cover uses Celtic symbols with various meanings. For example the Stag head usually represents our link to the fairie realm as it would cut a path through the forest. The Ravens represent the goddess Morrigan, the Salmon represent knowledge and the tri-spiral shows the link from land to sea to sky.
Thanks for the reply :) I do not know very much about Celtic Mythology but their music is great. I will search more about Celts. I thought those ravens were Odin's ravens because I know only about Norse Mythology, and a little Greek.
Hum well the meaning of the tri-spiral (or triskelion) is a bit more complicated than that I think. It could also represent the 3 worlds (the world of the livings, the world of the deads and the world of the spirits) or the passage of time, the 3 steps of life (that's my favorite meaning) : childhood, aldulthood and elderhood (and you can link that meaning to the the sun as well : sunrise, zenith, sunset).
I would give that rant 7.8/10 your combination of creativity, vitriolic-hatred, clarity-of-arguement and material-used scored higher than average, though insulting Americans on the internet is nothing that we, The Ministry of Rating Things on The Internet, haven't seen before.
... And the last celts that survived until these days live in Bretagne, Wales, Cornwall, Ireland, Scottland and the Isle of Man. Those are the only countries with a celtic language. The rest has been kind of absorbed by other cultures (well there is still Galicia, Asturia and the northern part of Portugal, but they don't have any celtic language).
Its Great! I have just discovered Waylander. And great cover, I think it is Huginn, Muninn and Yggdrasill. But I'm not sure because it is not Viking Metal ?
I'm not sure about it, because a lot of metal band have folk themes (heavy and symphonic metal bands often refer to scandinavian gods or celtic culture) and they are not folk metal. I think the traditionnal instruments are more important to define folk metal.
LOL! the intensity and other musical proficiency is just laid SurrrrrrfuckinReal and hilariously undercut by the Celtic friggin flute hahahaha - otherwise I would give it a shot maybe X D
Ooh, and i forgot to ask you all why you`re talking about Irish Folk? Waylander is a band from Scotland not Ireland. You can correct me, but as i know irish music was and is be played by bands from Ireland not Scotland. But at most i think it`s typical the now-youth generation...having the possibilities for getting the informations, but beeing too lazy for.
Which is the point. I am not sure where this anti-American sentiment came from. Not everyone here is mixed. There are a lot of people whose families have not moved around very much and all of their ancestors were of the same race/ethnicity. Sadly many people overseas think of us as fraction breeds with no race. This is very much untrue. Many of us are as White as anyone in Europe. It is not my fault that I was born here. I do what I can to honor my ancestors.
you Irish keep to much for yourself, just like Primordial, don't know them that long and I find out they're one of the oldest pagan bands and now an other one from Irland, cross the tiny bit of water and do a couple of shows :P
I am nowhere near mixed. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. I am one hundred percent Welsh/Briton. All of my ancestors going back to when we came to these shores were also Welsh/Native Briton. I am pure of blood and soul. If you would still deny that I am who I am then you will have to come and take my heritage from my cold corpse. If you can.
Celt is Celt. There is no proto shit. You either are or you aren't and it isn't defined as ethnicity either as some so-called scholars would claim though we are usually of fair skin. If you don't fuckin' know the history, then don't fuckin' act like you know what the fuck you're talking about, because usually people don't or they believe everything they read in books or see on tv. No, true Celtic tradition and history is passed down from generation to generation usually by oratory means.

Well celtic and germanic cultures had much in common. many of those things you can see as sort of pan-european
In fact they still have much in common. to see the difference between a dutch or irish person, you have to go a bit deeper than the surface
I'm not sure about it, because a lot of metal band have folk themes (heavy and symphonic metal bands often refer to scandinavian gods or celtic culture) and they are not folk metal. I think the traditionnal instruments are more important to define folk metal.
When's the skrillex remix coming Saul?
Come to the USA!!!!
True Pagan Metal...
greetings from Hellas brothers...

Whos the hater!!

So...you have to be an expert on something in order to enjoy it?
...I don't follow.

... Says the guy from Austria which is not born in a celtic culture... Tsss !
Stop acting.
Get out!
I mean... A Boston American with Irish roots as probably more clue about celtic heritage than you dude ! Cut the pagan warrior viking crap.
