    i know basically nothing about hondas or honda culture, do people hate on "upbadging" a car like yours with the type R? seems like its kinda a grey area with certain cars i assume. Anyways, cool build! just popped up on my recommended randomly lol

      With "upbadging", I think people are like that with all cars. BMW with M badges, Mercedes with AMG and Hondas with Type R badges. I am actually in the process of buying a K20a type R motor so my upbadging will come with an upmotoring lol. Thanks for the kind words, if youre just getting into Hondas then welcome!

      Thanks. It’s a good car because it’s a hatchback. You can fit a lot of stuff back there.

      @@DaneyCdesigns any tips on how to find one that’s isn’t completely clapped and a good price?

      @@ricardoreidjr05 This advice goes for any car really. Try to buy only from southern states because there arent any rusted cars. Unfortunately there are alot of people out there selling clapped out cars. The way some of these people do mental gymnastics to justify the clapped out cars are just next level insanity. I strongly recommend bringing a mechanic friend or hire someone to look at cars with you. Because as a newbie, you dont know what you dont know. Cars are such intricate pieces of machinery and so many things can go wrong.
      I have owned five DC5s since 2002 so I know what a new one should look like and sound like. Feel free to send me a message with pictures or links to facebook marketplace ads and I will give you some feedback.

      @@ricardoreidjr05 I bought a 06 type S with 180k miles and ZERO rust out of Oklahoma about a year ago. I paid $7k but then put another $3500k into it so far for PDR, tein coilovers, complete maintenance like valve adjustment, knock sensor that broke, new vtec solenoid, new brakes front and rear and all new OEM headlights and exterior rubber trim from the dealer if that helps you gauge what to pay.

    are these cars worth buying as a first car?

    • @DaneyCdesigns
      @DaneyCdesigns  19 днів тому

      @@Optimus_Prime08 that depends on if you find one in good shape. I am currently daily mine but I bought it off a mechanic so he took really good care of it. Before this one, I bought one that was rusting and dying and it was horrible. If you live somewhere with snow then I suggest you get something newer with awd. If you’re in warmer climates then it’s a decent car. I recommend spending $9k+ for one in good shape.
