Very interesting. My mother was born in Israel, in Tel-Aviv in 1932. She started me on stamps in 1972 with Israeli stamps and French stamps, for I was born in Paris. I collected 8 years in Paris, 12 years in Los Angeles ( 2nd collection), and in 1992, went to Israel to burry my mother and stayed in Israel 29 years. I started a 3rd stamp collection which I brought back to France where I reside now. My sister gives me some stamps, but is not a stamp collector. Neither are my nieces. But I love it...after 51 years, I suppose, you, gentlemen, would have guessed it. The countries I collect are China and Hong-Kong...not the expansive ones, and I have been given stamp collection since I have been in Israel. Thanks for the video. David

Thank you for showing the first Israel set, you don´t see them quite often. I have from the first set some values, but not the expensive 500/1000. I do not active collect Israel , main reason is that I can´t read them. From the history side especially the "old" ones are interesting. Palestine: First time I saw the blue stamp, nice looking. But for this you need the literature like you showed. If you don´t have this I think it is difficult. Stamps from the later sets are especially cancelled cheap and not too seldom. But I think to collect these issues you have to especialize the stamp like the collector did. I liked it.

Yes, those top values are really rare and expensive although you can pick them up in used condition - without the tabs attached - for low prices.

Given the circumstances of production, that Israeli set is really most handsome. The Palestine stamps are gorgeous, too. Fascinating viewing. 👍

Very interesting for me as my father was born in Jerusalem in 1936, on his birth certificate issued by the British Mandate of Palestine Health Dept about 1944 there is a a green 10 mils Revenue stamp. Aside from treasuring the birth certificate I value too the revenue stamp as it is the only philatelic item I have from my father's years born and raised there until they migrated to the US in 1949-1950.

That really is a personal treasure, and from an epicentre of 20th Century history too.

@@StampAuctions If you would like to see a scan of it would gladly send it. One day I have to discuss with my brother a better way to properly archive it.

I have used issues. Very interesting issues as it did not state the name rather "the Hebrew postage" at the bottom right in Arabic. Not sure what it said in Hebrew!?
