The thing I like the most about audio tracks is you can bounce them to samples. In essence you have unlimited audio tracks when you bounce them to samples.
i’m truly having a blast watching you experiment with the mpc one this week. now you see why the mpc workflow is so legendary, and you havent even really dug into the dopest aspects of the modern mpcs yet. excited to watch you learn about the looper, track mutes, 16 levels etc. theres still so much to learn brother 🤙🏼🤙🏼
It is bittersweet watching these older videos. You were so enthusiastic about the MPC One initially. It’s just a shame that your joy for this kit simply evaporated over time.
It's honestly starting to come back a bit! I think I just overhyped myself without actually examining the workflow first. Now that I have tempered expectations things are a little better haha.
Great to see that you're having fun! I'm kind of moving the opposite way - made music with a DAW and all the possibilities and effects and soft synths for a while, and currently I'm digging into the tiny things. POs, Bastls, and an OP-Z to tie it together. I have a little box with my entire battery driven studio in it 🥰
Seriously! I'm an equipment nerd. Within the first 5 mminutws I saw how this can revamp my old vintage stuff. I have an old motif 6(first gen) the sounds are amazing. The audio in on the MPC is SAAAWEEEEET!!!! I'm so excited. 8m gonna go grab an MPC live today. I want the extra GB of sounds. I love the live exploring of the equipment you do!!! I'm like you I like to mess with it and break it from day one!😁 I clicked subscribe!
This is SO Awesome! You whipped up a sweet beat on the fly!! Just wait till got some miles on it! Yeah watching your excitement and me knowing EXACTLY what that thing can do makes me want one So bad! That is on my top 5 pieces of hardware that I WILL acquire!! I thank you man for your passion, drive, knowledge and ability to make it fun for people whom take learning seriously! I have learned so much about my equipment from your vids and I make amazing stuff now cause of your inspiration. Thanks man!
Awesome tool FreeBeat. Your channel has grown since one partly broken pocket operator 😜 I am really liking how easy it is to use. Or how easy you are making it look to use.
Hahaha it's honestly pretty simple once you get the hang of the structure hierarchy. Song - sequence - track - program, and then you're off and running!
I have been playing around with the idea of doing a live set where I run my vocals and guitar through an audio track and using effects automation so I can play and sing live but fly different effects in and out as I go.
Great 👍 The MPC line really is a work horse. Do you happen to know if you can record the internal plug ins like that? E.g. to be fully unquantized, save processor power or chop them up?
If you really want to see something awesome, get a digital synth like the minilogue xd, hook it up through the usb and hit record, go turn the knobs and switches on the korg, the mpc records the automation on whatever you do...
Love your vidz bro! 👍🏻👌🏼 Question: can you move audio tracks ahead or behind as you can the midi data...like say I played a synth bass line that I wanted to “nudge” a bit behind the beat? Also, does the quantize/Time Control function work for audio tracks?? Tia!
You can move audio around freely! It can be a bit finicky, you really need to be confident in your abilities with the zoom controls haha. I don't believe you can quantize audio though, sadly. Thanks for watching!
I was wondering if I could record my Novation Circuit Tracks into the MPC One - didn't realize it would be so easy! Now to see about saving it to .wav to copy it out for other uses...
Nice video! ai just subscribed and liked.Quick question. Quick question when i record vocals on an audio track it is also records my midi track. How can I avoid having the midi track on my audio track? I just want to record my vocals on my audio track without the music.
Is it actually recording the midi? Or are you just hearing the tracks alongside what you're recording on the audio track. You also might want to check your input to make sure it's not trying to resample from a different track.
Its actually recording the midi track as well as my vocals all on the audio track. Im sure its something simple but i cant figure it out. Any help is appreciated. Thank you
I got a polyend tracker because I thought you could do this, was mistaken, now I’m looking to get a mpc instead because I’m more into playing synths and working on performance while I’m writing, tracker was strictly sampling, which was nice but this seems like it would be a better fit if I wanted to play my synths along with tracks and, well perform lol, would you recommend the mpc one?
My question is similar. The audio track seems connected to the 4 measure sequence. If the audio is longer, how do control when it plays? How does it interact with song mode?
Thanks for test vid. I just recorded audio, can see the wave recorded but can’t hear it on the phones as the other instrument tracks. Audio out is set to 1/2, maybe I should send it to phones? Confusing…
@@FreeBeat thanks so much, toggling it to “auto” solved it! Now the strange thing is that when I record audio over the factory techno template, the audio gets extremely subdued and slightly pumping like as if it were affected by a compressor! When I listen to it solo it is loud though. I even deleted the compressor and all effects on the other tracks but it is still the same …
This rules man! I think the MPC One is gonna be my next purchase hahaha. Would it be possible to connect the Model D and MPC with a MIDI cable and then play or sequence the Model D with the pads?
Did you have to do anything to get the MPC to receive the incoming audio signal because I am getting absolutely nothing coming in from any of my other devices. It's not the cables as I've tested them and other than ensure in the Audio track it's set to IN there doesn't seem to be anything I think I missing.
@@FreeBeat Thanks. I think I did that. What I hadn't done is turn up the Rec Volume to set the input levels. Wasted hours puzzling over this and checking my cables.
How do you are connecting audio from model d to mpc ? I can see the in Line of mpc with jack but not model d ... Another question ...I think is easy to connect model to mpc by usb ...right?
does that mean, if you have 2 mono synths.. each of them can have one input.. then you can render them on 2 different audio tracks, add some stereo effect (pan or chorus for example) on each of them? wow wow
Hey man I doubt you’ll reply but I just got a model D and I’m wondering if I can use my MPC as both a controller aswell as an interface for the synth? I’m having quite a bit of trouble figuring it out and I don’t wanna drop another 50 on a usb-MIDI usb host. Thanks much and happy holidays!
FreeBeats... a question. I don’t know what your time is worth when I ask this... You did a video where you recommended people have a “go to” percussion track. What would you charge to help people come up with one? What Patreon package would you want them to subscribe to?
I wish my MPC One could do at least 16 tracks of audio, because then I could retire my old Yamaha AW1600 completely. 8 tracks is a bit limiting for me, though if I get an electronic drum kit again, I could shift my drums to sample-based, I guess, and that would probably be sufficient... Hmm.
Can you side chain the drums to the input ? 7:18 You know your audience there ;) 7:37 oh wow uwu Really your melody improvisation is impressive, can't wait to see more of this thing ! Don't hesitate to make the unusual 4h video (or live stream) of jamming / discovering this thing. id dig that :D
It's a fun machine doubt. Wish there were more than 8 tracks for audio. Hate to say it but it really is a DAW dressed up in a controller suit.. I think the internal computer / OS is built on Linux.
Hope you don't mind me asking this question here, I'm using MPC 2.10.1, when playing back audio tracks using play or play from start im getting a bad click at the start and when it loops back round. When the same audio is triggered from a pad ie pad 16 everything plays back fine including when it loops. Any help would be much appreciated. Great Videos!

Have you retraced your steps to make sure you didn't accidently miss anything? Other than that it's pretty hard to diagnose over the internet haha, sorry!
