In 1920's and 1930's dancing to jazz rhythms was the vogue in Estonia. However, in Estonian record production, the popular songs in waltz or polka rhythms were dominating. In the second half of the 1930's, public got used also to hit songs in fox-trot rhythms, mainly thanks to the sound movies.
