    This is entirely a different set up for leach fields than what I’m used to here in California. Thanks for another great video.

    Love the music on this one. I rediscovered trance etc and it was the theme of 2017 for me. Born 86 I think our music tastes are similar. Also the video you did about computers was like my exact experience growing up with having a 486 computer as a kid up through the pentiums and the internet advancement.

    Where did you learn to do septic systems? Did you work for other people or just tried it yourself?

    The problem with that system was it wasn’t level, and hooking into clay tile you should have used a as enteric reducer.

    Lines going down hill? Not worried about effluent pooling at the bottom and eventually blowing out?

    • @AndrewCamarata
      @AndrewCamarata  6 років тому +1

      tfi 627 that one actually did blow out, it took a year though. But than I found out that the homeowner had removed the baffle from the outlet on the tank, so I'm sure that had allot to do with the first, and second field failing. I asked him about the condition of the tank when I was there doing the job, and he said it was concrete and was fine, and too difficult to see as it was inside. I think he fixed the baffle and maybe the field fixed itself, but I'm not sure, he hasn't called.

      I love your videos but this video shows the drain field running down hill which is sure to fail. Drain field must installed on athe contour to allow the effluent to move through the soil not discharge at the end. f you would have turned video left with the trench you would have a much better repair. In Georgia, we require a permit and inspection on repairs.

    • @AndrewCamarata
      @AndrewCamarata  7 років тому +4

      mgt00656 it's to get rid of unwanted water into the ground. Usually from shower/sink/washer

  • @dbsstudent9278
    @dbsstudent9278 5 років тому

    Seems like people always do it way longer than needed. Just do it spread out with multitple pipes in the leach field. One super long line wont work on small properties that aren't even that long.

    This is why I make money, fixing septics like this!! Get a license

    • @AndrewCamarata
      @AndrewCamarata  5 років тому +16

      There are no licenses here for the installers. The engineers who design new fields are licensed, and the work gets inspected by the Board of Health. Repairs don't need to be engineered/inspected. But someone having a license does not guarantee that the person know what they are doing. The last "Licensed" engineer I dealt with on a septic system was an idiot.
      On this system here; I had initially quoted the guy $4000. He talked me down to $2000 so this is what he got. Next time someone wont pay to do something right, I will just walk away from the job.
      There was no good area to install a septic here, any engineered system would easily be 10K+. His original system would have been fine, the problem was that he removed his drainage baffle from his septic tank, so the top layer of sludge was constantly flowing out to the field and ruined it pretty fast.

    I like the videos but that was a poor quality job and I hope you didn’t charge them much. Chambers have to be set level and you need more than that for even a small house. Will most likely fail within the first year. Basic septic systems are not that complicated to get right and if you’re going to perform the work educate yourself. I don’t agree with having to be licensed or needing inspections but its jobs like this that have made the government step in
