Black Friday Sale now live: www.clubreadydjschool.com/club-ready-dj-course/ I added so much new content and bonus material - I have been devoting so much love and energy to it these past few months, hopefully you like :)
I’ve gotten multiple dj courses and honestly they never inspire me like you do. You have definitely made me more confident and more eager to learn. Your positive energy and the inspiration you give me is crazy. I couldn’t thank you enough!
I agree, it is a joy to listen to you. I take my music serious and I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my DJ sets. You’re positive attitude reminds me that I shouldn’t forget to have fun aswell. 😊
Had my first gig in a club last friday 🎉🤘😁 watched a lot of your vids and they honestly helped me tons!! Big thanks! I love electronic music since years and play guitar and drums since years too but have only been diving into mixing roughly three months ago. Really proud to have fulfilled my prop to kick myself more out into cold water this year already! The summer can come guys! ❤
Your videos are always inspiring me. I can feel your passion and using your energy to develop my skills. Recently started but learned a lot already. Hope you’ll continue what you’re doing! Regards Tim (from the Netherlands but currently based in the Philippines)
You’re the absolute best! I’m giving my first Intro to DJing course tomorrow and I’ll be telling the students to check out your channel for sure. Enjoy Thailand!!
what i like to do: duplicate track to 3rd/4th deck, run FX over drop. then you have like 2 drops but one can be played with whilst leaving original intact. use a breakbeat loop from another track use high hats from next track. then run FX on them to accentuate the drop take a snippet of the melody from next track and loop it. sometimes start heavily delayed etc and slowly bring it back to normal near the break. give the crowd an impression of what might be coming next. use your mic and put on loads of FX to make the drop more atmospheric. can make some amazing sounds really easily. i also have a sampler so i can put in extra melodies or audio samples etc.
ANDREW, YOU ARE DEFINITELY THE BEST, BEST, BEST DJ INSTRUCTOR. I ALWAYS COME BACK TO YOU WHENEVER I NEED INSPIRATION. BIG LOVE AND HOPE YOU HAVE A BLAST IN THAILAND X
Epic work as ever dude! I’ve noticed myself already doing some of these things in the blend. Seeing this has inspired me to keep going along this path. Peace out Dx
I don't normally comment, but I think you've definitely earned the kudos. I've only recently started DJing and have already learned a lot from your content, so thanks for that! With your positive nature, it really makes me want to stand behind the decks and practice again and again. On another topic: Maybe someone more experienced here has a tip for the beginner on how I can take out the hi-hats a bit when mixing. I've tried using the EQ or isolator for it, but somehow it always sounds a little too loud or high-pitched on my headphones or speakers. What am I doing wrong here? :)
Usually the EQ works fine for me, but you can try the low pass Filter, here you can determine the filterfrequency. It Sounds a Little bit different, but should work out in the end.
I‘ve taken up DJing as a hobby some weeks ago and since watched a lot of videos from you and other creators that taught me great techniques to match and mix tracks. But this one went far beyond that! I‘ve been building my first set and while I was generally happy with my song choices and transitions, I had the feeling that it was a bit boring, lacking something I couldn‘t quite put my finger on. Just using the first tip of this video alone brought so much energy into my mix and made my later transitions so much smoother, I can‘t believe it. I‘m gonna keep practicing this and than progress to incorporating vocals. Thank you so much for taking your time to provide quality content for all of us!
Hello from Connecticut, USA. Gosh watching your video has me so amped up. I know its instructional, but still. Listening to different dj's mixes have inspired me, and coming across your tutorials inspires me even further. Your lessons are easy to follow, and I love your advice about not fearing experimentation. It's the best way to learn. I will definitely be watching more of your content. And no, your work destination isn't crazy at all. The best work is performed on the place that provides the best energy from the universe. If Thailand is that place, then that's where you should be. On a personal and spiritual level, the fact that I came across your lessons tells me that I am exactly where I'm supposed to be. Thank you so much for that and I look forward to watching more.
Thank You Andrew !!! I freaking out during the breakdown as there was NO BEAT !!! I WOULD HAVE LEFT THE DANCE FLOOR!!! I APPRECIATE YOUR “FULL PACKAGE “ TEACHING !!! Keep em coming!!! 🙏🙏🙏🎶🎶🎶🎧🎧🎧
Amazing and inspiring video, as always! 🥰 I find myself coming back to your videos for the informative content, but more so for the positive energy! Much love
Just took a leap and joined the Club Ready Crew. The course is already making me feel more positive and creative about mixing after getting stuck in a bit of a rut. Thank you Andrew!
I found using a 4/8 vanilla beat set on the sampler is very useful and gives you a fallback when the breakdown is too much long and beatless. On the sampler I can set 8 samples, each one with its colour and personality
What a really great video. So much gold (over a page of notes) and incredibly helpful with the type of sets I'm creating to keep folks moving when that's what I'm looking for in those moments. Your energy and passion for your craft is inspiring, and your videos are my go-to for any areas of a set I want to explore and improve on 🙏
More techno examples !!! Love it your course is super cool and your free videos are even cooler lol😂 Your transition with fisher ya kidding is truly dancefloor craziness
Thank you for these videos, man. After watching your videos, I started using EQ way more and volume faders way less. Makes for smoother mix and feels amazing to be I able to take out the good bits from both tunes ;)
Thanks a lot! I will try that in my next mix. You really helped me learn EQ mixing and gain confidence. Im not a pro but I do this for passion. A big thanks!
Passion's the best reason to do anything! Let go of the outcome and do for the love will no doubt bring you more happiness than needing things to go a certain way! Love your comment, thank you!
Man I love your style, one day I’ll get your course. I really want to support you! Does your course include downloadable tracks to practice along with each lesson?
@2:50 you pressed a key and the song restated from the begin staying in time... What function is that? I'm a beginner and I'm usind a hercules dj universal. Thanks
I'd say that was hitting the looping out button, watch my videos on looping orf check out my course. We have a Black Friday sale launching on Wednesday, I suggest the complete package, you'll love it, if not full money back guarantee no questions asked: www.clubreadydjschool.com/club-ready-dj-course/
Killer tip andrew, letting the ocean drive overtake in the breakdown then shifting back over. I’m gonna put that technique to the test a good few tracks tomorrow buddy. I’m assuming you would then leave ocean drive alone when wanting to fully transition over would you? And just move along? I don’t know why I havnt thought to do this before but thanks!
Keep a hand on the volume slider as some backspins can be make squealing earsplitters. Other times the backspin swallows the sound so quick lift of the backspin with a touch of echo makes a little extra punctuation. Last comment, DDJ400s don't free spin for long so at times you'll have to repetitively back-slap the platter to get the length of sound you want. Have fun! 😁
love your videos, they have been helping a lot, I cant wait to start the online course im just saving up the funds at the minute... im from the U.K does this mean I can still join the online course as your from Australia? as i've noticed you do live streaming with your students, or will they just be at set times as im from the U.K?
The majority of my students are from the UK. You can always hit me up for a discount code on the complete package, just email andrew@clubreadydjschool.com
I like to introduce a new beat but with lower bass and high pass filter.. sounds like hi hats or a light clap.. then can go wherever I want from there…
You know what, I'm going to. I copied and pasted "pad see eu" and made a note on my phone, and will keep an eye out for it. I always go to Ko Phangan, I find the jungle and the ocean so super healing

"The beat is a safety net for people on the dancefloor". Such sage advice m8, this is why your channel is the shit.
I’ve gotten multiple dj courses and honestly they never inspire me like you do. You have definitely made me more confident and more eager to learn. Your positive energy and the inspiration you give me is crazy. I couldn’t thank you enough!
I love hearing this, thank you so much

THANK YOU ANDREW !!!

hes like the aussie dj version of bob ross. and i dont say that as an insult.

I always put a note on tracks such as “watch the middle” and keep either the previous or next tracks baseline in sync to mix in if needed

@@martinrohleder6714 Thanks for the tip!
This is huge, thank you so much!
EQ and filter.. when used correctly they can be just as good as stems
You do the opposite as well.. lower bass and high pass filter to get a nice light clap from your kicks

This was great! I love your courses as well. Thanks for sharing your knowledge
Thanks Ryan
Huge breakthrough with my builds using looping since watching this video. Thanks again.
So much fun!!!!
also if you add delays etc on a break you can often turn up the middle to accentuate
Sounds good!
Some of the best content online for new an inspiring DJs.
This is huge, thanks Rance Alper
Great stuff!

100% I could have let Ocean Drive continue - you can read the crowd and simply decide by controlling dominant track with EQS :) xoxox
god damn youre so good ! i dont know if i can ask you but how do you do the back scratch effect that you did on the time 9:24 of the video? thank you
He keeps tightening the loop and then spins the jogwheel counter clockwise, with adding a filter on the channel + some echo effect
Keep a hand on the volume slider as some backspins can be make squealing earsplitters. Your videos are awesome ! 1/4 trans effect on the loop at the end would have be interesting 🧐
You should come play in Morocco 🇲🇦❤️
I use sync when I’m practicing and trying things out. It speeds up the process.
Where in Thailand? I've been spending time in Koh Lanta. Would love to connect.

How do i do to send you a mix so you can tell me what to change 😩😩
Log into the course and go to the club pack section then select: submitting a mix :)
That Metallica shirt is awesome!
Metallica and Nirvana are my roots. The first track I ever learnt on guitar was metallica one intro
I like to introduce a new beat but with lower bass and high pass filter.. sounds like hi hats or a light clap.. then can go wherever I want from there…
Kind of similar to tip 5.. but use filter with EQs and sometimes with a lil bit of echo or beatgrid or slicer..
❤❤❤
Enjoy Thailand brother. Grab some pad see eu (I’m not spelling that correctly)
You know what, I'm going to. I copied and pasted "pad see eu" and made a note on my phone, and will keep an eye out for it. I always go to Ko Phangan, I find the jungle and the ocean so super healing
you know the dj is awesome when he is wearing a Metallica shirt
