The dream represents Ichikawa's anxiety, the giant Yamada represents the fear of rejection, being hurt and being alone, the little Yamada represents the fear of hurting her (because he believes that she will lose her status by being with someone like him)
If you add that he has a fever at that moment, it makes it even better and is a good way to represent it.
Fun fact: the folds on the note yamada left are what you would see if you did a heart origami and unfolded it
Is that happened in the manga? I started reading it right where the anime ended, maybe I should read it form the start 😅😅
I love the way they tackled this episode, when Kyo slumped forward into her chest Anna knew there wasn't anything sleazy or a motive behind it, he was sick and didnt know what was going on and she acted accordingly in a mature, caring way. Although Anna did completely change him incl the trousers.
Forreal. A scene or action is only pervy if it's intended or taken that way.
@@haydenberends3905 there is this one anime, dont remember the name, were an instructor has to massage one of the trainees, and she has a crush on him, and the pov shows this really clearly, the ambiance changes from a hot momment to a regular mundane massage depending on the perspective, i like that scene.

Yamada adding the ears and shading them in is so great for the "no touch zones" lmao. It's great though because she never scolds Ichikawa about these things though and he constantly, inadvertently breaks her rules.

My take on the dream:
He is afraid of getting his feelings hurt by Yamada, thus he’s constantly running away from giant Yamada in the dream.
Yet at the same time he is afraid of hurting Yamada and is always treating her like his precious girl. Thus he tries hard to stop before the mini Yamada.
So he was in dilemma between both sides of Yamada.
It's fine, you'll change your mind about Yamada's mom in S2. And yes, Yamada completely changed Ichikawa's clothes, including his pants seeing him in his absolute worst but still chose to love him. Also, the letter she left was actually a heart origami, but she chickened out finishing it.
I didn't gave this show a chance because of its premise, until I saw the clip of Yamada being jealous on the library, I searched the show without remembering what it was and I decided to watch it up until that point, best decision of the season
this anime got us all feeling the same way
Ichikawa's such a Chad in this episode without even trying. The way he knew his mom was talking about Yamada from just a description (prettiest girl in his class), him getting her flustered by whispering in her ear.
These two are so fun to watch, and if THIS episode brought her to tears, I cannot WAIT for the rest of the season. . .
When he stops focusing so much on his thoughts he unconsciously becomes the god of rizz
I mean, he knew because he saw them, it just looked like that to Yamada. The rest is on point :)

Yamada totally wants to show off her crush to her bestfriend, but also doesn't want Chii to get too close to him. So cute!

I want kindness, I really do. Don't know who don't want it. All people want it, just not everyone realizes it. But then they start dating with someone who is "cool" or "beautiful" or something like that but that person is rude and can't show any care for them, then they just brake up with them. The end.
Also not everyone is lucky enough to have a kind person by their side. And some of those who were lucky, could hurt them and didn't appreciate their kindness, didn't understand how lucky they were because they hadn't other person to compare to.
But kindness is the most important thing in this world. It will always be. Love and kindness are two things that keep this world existing. If there's no love and kindness, we will destroy ourselves with our own hands.
Kobayashi is so blunt in the library scene. It's hilarious. 😅

I believe the tampon misunderstanding is a mistranslation. In the manga she brings up how they're for her mother, with her holding one and saying that it's a bad day for her.
nah, she does say that it isn't for periods. its probably panty liners but Ichikawa wouldn't know that women wear liners because of vaginal discharge, so he thought it was pads for her period. after she says its not for periods, she realizes Ichikawa probably doesn't get it and explains further that her mother told her to buy it

Interestingly, in one of the last chapters of the manga, Ichikawa has a more erotic dream about Yamada, and he blames himself for sexualizing her.
I know I'm kinda late for replying this. So about ichikawa dream it's just a dream when someone got a bad fever. I do have that kind of dream when an object randomly starts getting way bigger or it's getting smaller than the normal size in the same time and suddenly when you woke up, you feel the nauseous in your stomach and feels want to vomit. I do ask about this dream with some of my friends and yes they do have that kind of dream when they having a bad fever

Not totally unreasonable. The first scene we see of her mom is her correcting Yamada over and over about her etiquette. Sure that's inherently fine for a parent to do but her way of doing it came off as harsh even if it's well intentioned.
