She really picked the perfect time to react to this show. Right after she finishes the first season and has it fresh in her mind, season two will be airing. See you then, in the new year!
This is still my fav episode of any rom com. The hand holding scene is a pure essence of what i want out of these kinds of shows and i can go on an on about it. Only one week until S2 and i'm as excited to watch it as i am to see your reactions to it.
""don't forget to watch the real thing" just shows how good the writing is and scenes put together when they are alone. There's so many amazingly cute moments throughout S1 and S2 will get even better - upto date with the manga
the self doubt is real. I can remember a few times in my life where there were female friends who I really liked. They always gave me signs and told me weird things that someone would only tell to the person they liked. They were always so enthusiastic and cheery around me and always wanted to hang out with only me, and texted me about nothing at night etc etc. But every time i let my guard down, it's always 'oh I don't see you that way.' Now I just ignore every sign thrown my way. It's just easier and safer that way.
Agreed, Yamada was so smooth, pulling his chin up with her finger while saying THAT! But let's give credit to my boy too, when he said: "during class, all I see is you" I was blown away by that phrasing! I was wondering how it could be phrased in a non-mean way, and he knocked it out of the park, didn't see that coming but they're love gurus!
He's a 13 year old boy. He's lucky he can get out of bed and put on his skull t-shirt. He's fully unprepared for Yamada. Lucky for him, she's a doofus who sees & loves what he is under all the teen angst & confusion.
What this scene makes me feel is impressive, no other RomCom had reached so deep in me, and the direction it has is masterful, the lighting with that blue sky where both walk through the dark streets in the light of the moon, while they walk slowly in their own world, their own bubble, it is one of those moments that you want to last forever, a scene that gives the viewer total immersion, with the fantastic soundtrack and the narration of Ichikawa himself telling his experience , the experience of holding hands for the first time with the girl you like, little by little, step by step, like the relationship between the two of them, a path that they go at a slow but sure pace, seeing them as they are both aware that they are holding hands but neither of them say anything to each other, because they want to enjoy the moment to the fullest, how they see each other and then they look away, my God, what a beautiful and expressive scene, it is one of the best I have seen in any RomCom. Great reaction and happy new year (sorry for my bad English).
btw theres an ONA called "Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu: Twi-Yaba" (its only one episode and based on short stories written by the author of the manga) its super fun and cute, you should check it out after you finished season 1 and before you start the season 2 methinks :D
4:47 Yamada's really the "Excuse me, he asked for no pickles" gf. 8:30 Oh, you sweet summer child. 11:19 A lot of deeper meanings in that line, eh? 15:30 Don't worry about it. This is normal. It's FINE.
My only fear about second season is because I did read the manga after first season, and I am scared if I dont feel the emotions like the first season before I read the manga, I watched anime a long time, and I never feel like this watching one romance anime before boku no kokoro no yabai yatsu.
I hate to break it to you, but guys do that (at least most of us) and most of us hate that part of ourselves too. Prob it's dna or some shit at this point.
Bro, yes guys definitely think like that at that age lol. The amount of hormones are insane. I cringe ao hard at the random flashbacks. Tho tbf i cringe at things i did yesterday, but still.
You learn with thisbshow is yamada is Smarter andbmorebmature then zhe behaves she knows exactly what shes doig and what she wants hell shes fhe one that asks him out and says i love you , tho he does regret saying like instead of love later
8:28 bruh.... you have no idea. This why btw i don't mind fanservice in romcoms, cause it really takes me back to being teenage boy and being horny as fuuuck. I remember staying close in line to a girl i like, almost touching her butt and feeling like i'm about to pass out. It is what it is, fanservice in this situations just shows the girls from the perspective of young guys. And no, it's not mutually exclusive with romantic feelings and acting like a decent human being. Just like with fear, it's not about not feeling it, it's about not being controlled by it.
Should be noted that the "mansplaining" line is not actually said in Japanese. HiDive subs, for example, changed it to a more correct, "Did I just try to give fashion tips to a professional model?" Mansplain in Japanese is a loanword from English, so it sticks out like a sore thumb.

See you then, in the new year!
I love Kyotaro projecting himself on the romcom protagonist cause that's exactly how Yamada sees him!
This is definitely one of the best all-time episodes of any romcom. And it only gets better from here. Season 2 is only a week away. So excited!
Yamada taking steps is soo great.
We're so close! Extra episode Jan 1st on Hidive btw! S2 Jan 7
HUH
@farohreacts hey, sorry, HiDive messed up the upload, but Episode 12.5 is finally viewable

I don't know about ANY romcom, but this is probably my favorite episode of THIS series, at least so far.

True, I have never seen a romantic anime with such well-written and original scenes before.

Great reaction and happy new year (sorry for my bad English).
love to see how much of a fangirl you've become haha
Fan girl is such an understatement 😭😭😭
That time when you realize the title of the show is actually referring to the dangers in OUR hearts... every time i watch, i risk a heart attack.
One of the best modern rom com anime imo
I believe that the author herself did the Yamada Santa to her SO
Yamada took bro to Rizztopia, had me blushing too 😂
3:53 Yamada actually got jealous because Ichikawa called her mom cute instead of her
More like what her mom did
This series is my personal favorite romcom manga/anime. Thank you for the reaction!
Agreed, this has become my favorite romance anime out of the numerous that I've watched. The wholesomeness and realistic development are top tier
That handholding scene ... the music ... this is the second best scene in all of Romance after the chalk-snapping scene in Fruits Basket
I am looking forward to your reaction to Episode 12 almost as much as I looked forward to Episode 12 itself!
Yamada in the coffee shop does indeed have level A game. Poor Ichikawa does not stand a chance. That Yamada Santa bit was pretty funny.
Don't forget to watch the real thing... omg one of my fav quotes!!
There are so adorable 🥰
Happy new year ❤
Happy new year 💖💖

8:29 as a former middle school boy I used to too
After this chapter they are pretty much dating. 🤣🤣🤣

7:16 Nah, ma'am, where did you get this rizz. 😭
