    Hello UA-camrs, I am sharing my story hoping it will help someone. What they don’t tell you in these videos is that endoscopic surgery is NOT covered by health insurance (in the United States). I had to pay $30K for my procedure (May 2024). However it was more than worth it. I had to acquire the funds from my retirement account. Borrow the money if you need, you will be glad you did. Immediately after surgery, I was instantly and fully healed with no recovery time. Nor did I need any pain medication afterwards at all, whatsoever. It was money well spent.

I have a herniated disc and a bulging disc 🤕

      Lily u literally posted exactly how I'm feeling as well. I injured my back really bad trying to lift my 110lb scooter up a flight of stairs without bending legs properly 2yrs ago. I felt something click out of place in my lower back just before i felt excruciating pain. I could barely move or turn my body the next day. I Had to call 911 for an ambulance to go to the ER. In my younger years, I also put a lot of HEAVY lifting stress on my back so I'm all messed up. Imagine still having to work 12 shifts like this... 😐

      @@sabinabastola8371 I'm not quite sure which type of injections you are refering too, and do you mean back pain arising from a spinal canal stenosis or disc herniation? Epidural steriod injections can be used to lower pain sensation, and are used in clinical practice also to confirm te source region of the pain, in case the source is unclear. These injections into or very close to the spinal canal might have to be repeated in case it is used as pain treatment. Some patients may benefit from this treatment. A removal of seqestrated tissue and other compressive structures, such as bone, still might be neccesary. A clinican will have to advice on these matters.

      Endoscopic operations have a very hight rate of the success. The surgeon takes off only the "bulge" that causes the pain and it doesn't make any damage.

    • @IM-sj1cr
      @IM-sj1cr 10 місяців тому +1

      @@RIWOspine There is extensive peer-reviewed research which shows that the success rate is quite low. Also, the way you have described the procedure is very misleading. A large proportion of those who undergo spinal surgery end up having to have surgery again. Moreover, with the exception of a very small number of patients who have medical emergencies, disc bulges heal conservatively with time if a conservative approach is followed.

    Sir how the puncture disc is recovered. If not sealed the nucleus will come out again

    • @RIWOspine
      @RIWOspine  3 роки тому +1

      Dear Anup Jha, the disc is usually ruptured before the operation, which in turn causes the disc herniation. This procedure does not cure the disc, but remove the sequestered material. In case the rupture in the disc anulus is large, some surgeons prefer to remove larger parts of the disc to avoid reherniation. The chance of reherniation is in the low percent range. Efforts to close the disc - which would anyway follow a removal of the sequester - show, to my best knowledge, varying results. Another alternative might be to mechanically fix the spine, e.g. using screws. The invasiveness and loss of mobility should be carefully considered by the patient and the clinician. Endoscopic procedures might help to overcome these drawbacks and maintain mobility. Please consult with your local clinican.

    • @IM-sj1cr
      @IM-sj1cr 10 місяців тому

      @@RIWOspine This is not medically accurate and is legally risky. The chance of reherniation has been looked at in multiple studies and is quite high. The risk of serious and life-changing complications is significant

    • @RIWOspine
      @RIWOspine  3 роки тому +1

      Dear Basil Alahmar, in all surgical procedures to remove the sequester of a herniated disc, there is a low risk of a reherniation. The incidence is similar accross current standard procedures. Depending on symptoms and diagnosis, a second surgery might be neccessary. There is a lot of literature on this topic and results vary slightly from study to study - in the low one digit percent range. I recommend to consult with your local surgeon.
