    Some good shots, love the arken zulus, just a cracking scope 😊

      Thanks mate, I absolutely love the zulus, I'm waiting for the 3-12 version to come out as that would sit nicely on my FAC airgun and work well with the wider field of view, thanks for watching 👍

    Another great video. I did try a Zulus but found it too complicated and reliant on my phone to operate, superb image but a fiddle to use/programme. I've made these comments on a few reviews and forums and recieved a personal contact from Arken, acknowleging this is a problem as there have been a large number of similar comments worldwide.
    They are in the process of simplifying it and doing away with the need for the phone app. The new upgraded "user friendly" Zulus will be available later this year.

      Thanks Antony I appreciate the comment, I'm not all that good with technology, and i did have a few moments when i was scratching my head with the set up of the zulus, but once i got familiar with it i found it easy to use, like you say many people have raised the issue you mentioned and i think it will be good for many users who want a more simplistic approach to use.
      I'm excited to see what the next few years hold for the arken zulus and the brand on the whole.
      Thanks again for your comment

    Have you done much varminting with a .22 lr or .17 hmr? Recently got a .22 and eyeing a .17 hmr exchange barrel when they come back in stock. Distances where I can hunt are no longer then 150 at most, I reckon the 17 hmr should do a decent job on everything up to foxes. At least a fair number of folks have a lot of success with the 17 on foxes.

    Rabbits at 80 yards with a 223. Really? R/H rifle off the left shoulder?

      Left handed using RH rifles, has its pros & cons.

      I'm a leftie. Have a mix of left and right handed actions. Sometimes the budget doesn't allow for the rarity of leftie actions, especially in secondhand market. I've always made do and in some cases find a right hand bolt to be more efficient (on air rifles mainly) all that said my Anschutz 1517 left handed Is my favourite

    Do you zero this thing then add your rounds ballistic information or what ? It seems like if you zero it and then you go out hunting with a different round it would be off.

    Hi, do you use a standard trigger in the howa or upgraded please?
    I’m with you on the hares as we don’t seem to have high numbers here in Devon but if we did and I was told to thin them out it’ll be done.

    • @Veteranvermincontrol
      @Veteranvermincontrol  4 місяці тому

      Hi I believe my howa is a 2012 model which as the older and less admired trigger than the newer ones, I'm used to it and can print 0.5 MOA groups with it if I do my part.
      Working on somemore homeloads so hopefully I can replicate that again.
      I love seeing the hares, there great to watch, hopefully I can get then to a point where I can rest them and enjoy watching them again 👍

    Nice shooting! The scope is amazing. I use a PARD DS35 70LRF and for a budget scope, it's really good.
    I am going to have to get a Bog Deathgrip though, the stability it seems to give is just what I need.

      @RabbitBusters Cheers mate🙏
      In do like the zulus there superb value for money! I've never looked through a DS35 but hear good things about them.
      The bog deathgrip is a game changer for me, I'm looking at fitting a ball head with arca swiss on it down the line

    🇦🇺😎👍Sound moderators are illegal in Australia. In the end everything gets banned for safety 😉👍

      @@Veteranvermincontrol 🇦🇺😎👍I think they were legal in some states years ago. Perhaps they may be legal for people with cat C&D weapons licences which are not accessible to the public. In Western Australia they’ve just taken away all bolt action rifles 284 Nosler and above and they are talk on about a 5 gun limit for safety. Also there talking about national uniform gun laws which pretty much unifies the states to restrict gun ownership. These people never give an inch and they are constantly inventing ways ( and succeeding ) to take our licences away.

    So wasnt your zero low 🤔

    • @Veteranvermincontrol
      @Veteranvermincontrol  4 місяці тому +1

      Hi , zero on paper was bang on (100yrds) then I put the steel out at 200yrds, and the two shots on steel are a touch lower than the red circle, but still fall within MOA at 200yrds and would result in a dead fox ect
      Like I say I want to test a bit more with the scope and my home loads and tweak things to the set up👍

      They shot well out of mine, as did the 53g superformance which were a touch better, if I remember rightly the 53g superformance pit in a 15mm group at 100yrds.....cant argue with that for a factory round
