- In this video I will demonstrate the 3 best backhand fielding techniques and how to utilize them to ensure you remain in an athletic strong position to throw to your target.
3 top backhands and when to use them:
1. Sweeping/rake through: This is commonly used when it’s a slower ground ball but you don’t have enough time to get around the ball and set your feet.
2. Step Back: This is used when it’s a hit a little sharper to your backhand side. Because it is hit hard and it’s more of a in-between hop, you’ll step back to get a better read on the ball.
3 Cross-over: The cross over is used when the ball is hit pretty far and you have to run a bit more to get it. This is beneficial because you will use your cross over leg to push yourself up into a strong throwing position to make a long throw to your target.

If you could make video on any solid outfield drills that’d be awesome
Absolutely will do! Thank you for the feedback. Stay tuned!
Looking for mechanics or tips on how to field a ball that is almost out of reach (for example: a shortstop getting to a grounder going right up the middle of the field/second base)
When moving to a ball hit to the glove or backhand side in the infield do you prefer a pivot or a drop step(not and outfield drop step)?
It depends on how hard the ball is hit. If it hit hard and deep, it's more of a drop step. If I have to go to a little to my right or left, it's more of a pivot
