Oh wow! Totally awesome scenery what a beautiful North West sun set. @11:20 Get some fabsil on your tent. I love these tents. Mine is 100% water proof. The day we had that torrential rain and floods I tested mine for leaks and bone dry inside . My tent is probably older then most people watching your vids haha They will last a life time if maintained. Try the North East Coastline next haha I think last night it was a good 5c colder then the west. If you Zip two together and put a cheap DPM tarp over them both and peg down they stay warmer. We have a portable log stove for when it gets to -3c or below. Was hoping to get some decent snow last week but nothing haha. When is your technical review vid on the cam towards the end of the video? Hope there is a water proof casing for it? or maybe make one? Notification bell is hit for this one.

Ahh yeah, I think you maybe thinking I'm meaning that it leaks through the canvas. No mate, that's totally fine, it's the holes where the zips are and such. I've woke up in a bath one morning haha! Yeah, I'm heading over to the northeast very soon this year so I'm looking forward to that. So much more layed back and stress free. Ah as for the Dutch Army tents the you have to set the zips correctly Especially the bit at the bottom next to the support poles. You can modify them with some sewn on Velcro attached to some flaps made of cotton or linen canvas.Then just fabsil the flaps. Use the sewns on ones and not the adesive velcro. My grandad used a bead of marine aqua seal. Similar to what they use for fish tanks underneath the patches and between the sewings on his. On the top of the bottom line zip. so even in torretial horizontal rain. Nothing gets in. Some one in Coalville said they actually make new Dutch army tents with water proof zips. Hope how I have explained it makes sense, Probably easier to demonstrate rather then describe haha It just sounds like a lot of hassle but its dead easy. Hope you have an awesome trip on the East coast.

Funnily enough I was looking at filming lights before our recent trip to Scotland so will be interested to hear you thoughts when you've used it a few more times.

6:59 You should be having a hot curry in summer to cool you down, it’s a similar principal to alcohol, it makes you sweat, which makes you lose heat! In India, in general, the cooler it is, ie. up in the mountains, the Himalayan regions- Kashmir, Himachel Pradesh etc. the less spicy the curries. Whereas in the deep South, the hotter the curries.😁

Just wanted to put it out there as they say alcohol could be fatal in a real survival ie. hypothermia situation, so in the unlikely situation you’re going down with hypothermia and decide a nice hot curry might be just the thing before you leave the tent uttering the immortal phrase to your comrades “I’m just going out and may be some time”, it may not be the best idea!!🤔🤣👍
@Mat-kr1nf I think it depends on the person and the gear they have. I have no issues having a couple of beers and a very hot curry in winter and any other time of the year. I don't preach to anyone what they should and shouldn't do while out camping, we are all adults who know their own limitations. My videos aren't made for children, so it's entirely down to the viewer what they want from their wild camping experience. Next week's video I'm skinning, gutting and quartering a animal, obviously thats not for everyone but I don't make videos for anyone other than myself. There's always a choice of watch or don't watch 👍

I was just referring to the alcohol as, supposedly, the St Bernard dogs and their little cask of brandy probably killed more people than they saved. There is a vast difference to crossing the Antarctic or getting lost up in the Alps in the depths of winter to having an overnight camp on a UK winter’s day. The bit about a curry and hypothermia was somewhat tongue in cheek, as was the reference to Oates and his famous last words at the Antarctic. I would be last the last person to preach as to what someone should or shouldn’t do, or judge anyone for that matter. Please don’t take what I’ve written too much to heart, it wasn’t meant to be personal or, as I say, as sermon. It was just tongue in cheek.😁
Loving the new camera. I am tempted to get the Dutch army or similar. For me tho, I think it's a perfect camp fire tent. Won't be worried about burns or owt
Good stuff mate - was sorry to miss this one. Great new kit - my Pocket 2 is giving up now in terms of the battery and the 3 is on my short list - GoPro are awful (IMHO) now and their buggy software and constant crashing make them unusable. ATB pal.

I've heard good things about that wee camera. Lovely spot there and Leon - good company. I've had a Curry Goat with rice n Pea for tea. I have a little selfie stick that makes a tripod and connects by Bluetooth to the phone. Gerrit down the Leon...lol.

@@AntSurviveTheNight I've gone to local butchers in Longbridge for most meats but for goat meat I'll go to Asian butchers in Blackburn or Nelson if I'm over there. I've even seen Goat in aldi once! I was amazed.

6:59 You should be having a hot curry in summer to cool you down, it’s a similar principal to alcohol, it makes you sweat, which makes you lose heat! In India, in general, the cooler it is, ie. up in the mountains, the Himalayan regions- Kashmir, Himachel Pradesh etc. the less spicy the curries. Whereas in the deep South, the hotter the curries.😁
My belly tells me different when I'm lying in my sleeping bag all warm and toasty and it lasts throughout the night 😉

Just wanted to put it out there as they say alcohol could be fatal in a real survival ie. hypothermia situation, so in the unlikely situation you’re going down with hypothermia and decide a nice hot curry might be just the thing before you leave the tent uttering the immortal phrase to your comrades “I’m just going out and may be some time”, it may not be the best idea!!🤔🤣👍
@Mat-kr1nf I think it depends on the person and the gear they have. I have no issues having a couple of beers and a very hot curry in winter and any other time of the year. I don't preach to anyone what they should and shouldn't do while out camping, we are all adults who know their own limitations. My videos aren't made for children, so it's entirely down to the viewer what they want from their wild camping experience.
Next week's video I'm skinning, gutting and quartering a animal, obviously thats not for everyone but I don't make videos for anyone other than myself. There's always a choice of watch or don't watch 👍

I was just referring to the alcohol as, supposedly, the St Bernard dogs and their little cask of brandy probably killed more people than they saved. There is a vast difference to crossing the Antarctic or getting lost up in the Alps in the depths of winter to having an overnight camp on a UK winter’s day. The bit about a curry and hypothermia was somewhat tongue in cheek, as was the reference to Oates and his famous last words at the Antarctic. I would be last the last person to preach as to what someone should or shouldn’t do, or judge anyone for that matter. Please don’t take what I’ve written too much to heart, it wasn’t meant to be personal or, as I say, as sermon. It was just tongue in cheek.😁

Definitely Phil, they are dirt cheap and already have holes in them where they leak so burn marks wouldn't be an issue lol
seen a bloke on utube putting two them together and on one side he put a wood burning stove looked very good and nice and cosy

Good stuff mate - was sorry to miss this one. Great new kit - my Pocket 2 is giving up now in terms of the battery and the 3 is on my short list - GoPro are awful (IMHO) now and their buggy software and constant crashing make them unusable. ATB pal.
