Of all those offerings I’ve only had the Bunnahabhain 12. I just can’t put it down. Hands down my favorite. I’m newish to scotch but my 3 favorites are Bunna, Dalmore 12, Highland Park Vikings Honour. I’ve been told those are all beginners but don’t care love them. I’ve got a Lagavulin 16 that I’ve not opened yet. I’ve been looking for Kilkerran but haven’t found it in Michigan yet. At least where I am.

Just supping a Glen Scotia 9yo Single Cask. 57.1% first fill bourbon matured. Absolutely outstanding. Same price as the Victoriana. 🙌🏻

I bought cutty Sark blended scotch for £25. It is 50 abv, non chill filtered and natural colour judging by the dark bottle.
Finally finished this, I was told to watch this during the work day so I got pulled away. I don't know these well enough honestly to pick a favorite. Most of these I can't get locally. I will say, I don't get why Victoriana is here over their 15 year which to me is the best of their range and the best priced as well.
BTW, I do LOVE that 15 year KK single cask! Kinda crazy how everyone seems to have had it when they only released 120 bottles in the US and I bought 3 of them...
I think there's an argument that cask strength single malts and non-malts should be separate categories. Is it worth it though?

Nice job guys - the only thing I'd say is that the Ledaig 10 is no substitute for the 18 - they are worlds apart.
Kk12, Hazelburn 10, Bladnoch 10 (preferred it to 11), Ardbeg 10 and An Oa and maybe Corryvreckan, Laphroaig 10, Talisker 18, Lagavulin 16, Caol Ila 12, SB15 (too expensive), GS15 (prefered it to Victoriana), Bunna 12, Ancnoc18 (10 was ok, 18 very good), Clynelish 14, Dronach 15, Glen Garioch 12 or 16, HP any of the 16 and maybe 15, Oban 14, Port Charlotte heavily peated, Macallan 15 Fine oak. Those are probably my favourites 🎉

Haha, I love all kinds of springbank man! I wish I was getting ash on that 8, it's dirt, glue, and raw grain. That said I like the bourbon KK8's so much more. And I loved the older 12's, the last release left me wanting. Mike's a bit harder on the KK than I am. But springbank? That Local barely is the only one I've ever scored poorly, and the 15 was a low score for me. I just was happy it was better than a few older 15's I'd had.

Agree with you on the Kilkerran 8 Port - it’s not for everyone but it’s well made and I like the dirty style. I commented on TopShelf video to that effect, but I was clearly in the minority!

Look up what a Merkin is, and then just add 'ardna' at the beginning
I was able to try a Starward Australian Whiskey Barrel Pick and I absolutely loved it. I actively disliked the expressions they released on there own and honestly was just gunna leave the store but I trusted the person who owned the store and picked it up for 65$. I went back and bought two more bottles because it was just so good.
Love both of your reviews! Rob actually got me to open my 2019 SB 21 which was my first "expensive" bottle back then...
As a non english speaker it is a lot of fun hearing you guys triing to pronounce Ardnamurchan :D hopefully in the future their 10-year-old will be worthy for all of us to try and learn their name!

Not sure where you folks are located, but it looks like Ledaig 18 can be bought direct from their website and shipped the US
Toronto. So unfortunately that isn’t an option.
Cask strength Non chill makes the Glen Scotia an easy flavor bomb. For the money, it's hands down #1 and has been for years. The rebel you wouldn't buy it, so I bought an extra just to spite you. I also think the Kilkerran Port is amazing. I'd drop $$ for the Ancnoc and see how it stacks against the older 24 which I love. Thanks!

Not bought any scotch this year. I have 3 tequilas on my radar for the year. I want to get Fortaleza still strength Blanco, Fortaleza reposado and a three generations tequila.
Indri is something I am quite surprised keeping in mind price point . Cheers
Kilkerran first followed by Arrdnamurchan. Would leave Bunna in the shop. Love Ledaig too
That's a tough choice to leave one out but I think I would leave out the Ledaig or An Cnoc out. I really like the Victoriana actually voted for it. Also I love the KK Port cask its filthy but I love that in a whisky. Slainte!

I sold/traded a bottle of Laphroaig 40 for a Lagavulin 25 and $, I still regret it... I'm trying to come around on Kilkerran and I like dirty!

It was a nomination last year I believe.
Arran 10 won best affordable whisky 2 years in a row I think the 18 was third in best overall
Kilkerran 12 all day! The latest batch of the 16 is outstanding too. Had all of the others and they're just not the spot for me. The latest kk12 is absolutely stunning
Ardnamurchan is definitely a decent new distillery. But for me Kilkerran is just another level.
Andrew, I have a Kilkerran 12 too, haven't cracked it yet, may I ask what bottle year/lot code you have so I can see if I have the same one??

Id like to see more separation between the categories. Why is Redbreast winning non-malt and world whisky?
I would rather see those two categories changed into three: “best scottish non-malt , “best world non-malt”, and “best world-single-malt”.
That would he my constructive criticism.
Which Scottish non-malt would you nominate?

Bourbon is more niche for us europeans. Several reasons. We get scotch easier and cheaper. We don't have access to the best bourbons out there, we kind of get the mainstream stuff that is largely the same with some exceptions like pikesville rye. And of course, for obvious reasons our palette is conditioned to scotch whisky. The american whisky that makes it to us over the lake can't hold a candle to the great scotch out there, never had a chance.

the whisky am NOT picking..is Ledaig 10. I dont trust that whisky, it is too different every time I have it.
