problem is also that the amount of water that was moved was on the small size, most wave generators I have worked on use a segmented wall that hinges at the bottom of the tank or one that moves then entire wall back and forth. with the amount of water that is moved then you can create very large waves in seconds. you were actually able to get an "under water power unit" for some of the boats. My brother has/had a lego fire fighter boat that you could clip a little underwater prop on the hull. I have a speed boat that allows the same attachment. Look up Lego kit 4031; the back of the hull had a little pin mount where a torpedo style drive unit could clip into.

Legos trap a ton of air inside, so the boats can float for normal reasons but they even start floating after capsizing and even normal Lego builds float because of all the air trapped inside. I used to play with legos in the bathroom sink because most builds float easily

A trebuchet (French: trébuchet) is a type of catapult that uses a long arm to throw a projectile. It was a common powerful siege engine until the advent of gunpowder. The design of a trebuchet allows it to launch projectiles of greater weights and further distances than that of a traditional catapult.
