I remember driving a schedule 40 post 6 ft down, 50 inches out the ground ( 10 ft schedule 40 terminal) , driven with a hand pounder, to swing a 16 ft single swing gate with operator. That was 4 years ago, and it still swings perfect as the day I hung it. 😊
The postmaster welded to a 2.5” post is great idea to act as post anchor/tap root, I’ll have to take that! Very impressed with the Hyde rhino to get through that soil
Quick question: are you guys making any videos on that large project you guys are doing. Heard Mark talking about a job where you have 20+ guys working on the same site. Would be cool to see that. Love the videos guys! Keep up the great work
Ive been driving posts for years but I’ve done dig a little like 1’ and pound away then Crete. This is awesome to see and have me so many new ideas !!! I’ve been in the industry in the northeast for over 20 years now NW Florida but all the new tips and tricks kick ass !!! Love it and way better than MR FENCE
Concrete actually can cause a failure vs driven as it creates a fulcrum point for the post to snap at rather than the force being spread over the length of the post.
I've been in the fencing buisness for my entire adult life up north of you in Canada and instead of that peice of equipment that shall not be named have you guys ever looked into the talet equipment postmaster? I think it would benefit you guys as much as it does us! Love all your tips and tricks it's awsome because you guys basically fence identical to the way we do up here with a few slight differences! Cheers!!
I am pretty lucky as I just use a post pounder on t posts but I am not a fence company. Fencing used on garden plots. I do have a comment, please tell me that those orange shoes are steel toed. I am all about safety and require them on my jobs. I see you around some heavy equipment and those posts. You are doing great about getting the job done just want to make sure you don't get hurt!! Please keep up the great work and have a good dang day!!!
I have watched so many video of you guy driving posts and not one of them show you using water. Even in rocky conditions, using water helps a ton. It loosens the soil for rocks to move. I take a 55 gallon drum, a gasoline siphon and a few 1 gallon milk jugs with me when driving posts.
Would you ever use a skid-steer post driver attachment with postmaster posts? I'm doing a DIY project and want to drive the posts, but can't find the hand held drivers for rent anywhere. However, I can find skid steers available. Thanks
LMBO! I thought there was an additional video - sorry!! I will have to purchase a drill/ driver head with a well bit on it... none of this is going to work! You guys are great! Dan and his Underoos - Good Stuff for the Ladies!!! LOL!!
Y'all have demonstrated that pounding is a great option. But as you said, it is an expensive option. To much money for the DIY'ER, just doing a backyard fence project. But thanks for the information.
I live in Clark near the Canyon. Recently bought fencing supplies (5”x10’ post, No Climb Fence and accessories) from you guys. Just curious… how are you guys able to drive post in Clark? I spent 4 hours putting in one post using my tractor. Will be renting an excavator to dig up rocks just to get the post in 3’ deep. I have some serious big rocks. I see fencing all over Clark and am baffled on how the fence lines are straight and post are spaced fairly even. Truly baffling to me.
It's extremely difficult. We have extremely large pounders with rock spikes, and really only recommend driving pipe since it's a smaller diameter--it'll drive through the tough soil conditions once you've punched it with the rock spike.
What would happen if you attached some kind of a weight rack to the post, then used the gas driver? Asking for a person that only has a gas driver....Would it go deeper?
0:28 glacial till worst soil to work with. All right you jokers let's see how you deal with nice sandy, silty soil that has little cohesion? I'm impressed with you guys were able to bust boulders with that hydraulic pounder.
I love posting pictures of my old payloader on 2 wheels pulling driven posts when the naysayers say they wont hold. I have a open invite to come hand pull a post in my yard. No one has took me up on the offer
Obviously driving post doesn’t work, I mean… it’s irrelevant that you could barely pull them out of the ground, that being said, I am right and you guys are wrong and should stick with your day jobs. How was that comment? Lol.

You guys are the kind of content creators that are needed. No BS. Just proof and experience. Superb.
Cheers to the camera guy/producer!!! Woot woot!
Hey thanks! You made the camera guy's day!
Always enjoy your videos. I need to find somewhere to rent one of these things to see if it will work with the ground conditions in my area.
You guys rock. Gonna get one of them yeller drivers soon

That IS supposed to happen, yes. Not exactly sure when, but we are planning for it. 👍🏻

What a great demonstration of the breakout force of a skid steer
No nasty comments here. I learned a ton. Thanks guys!
No worries!

We'll have to check it out.
Great video. I used a nematic post driver called Man Saver from Roher MFG. Absolutely love it for driving 2 7/8" drill pipe.
I've even worse ground up in far NE Washington state and I need to set wood posts. Any suggestions? My fallback is my Case 580 backhoe and concrete.

If you ever quit fencing, you could start up a fitness channel starting with your jumping jacks. Don't forget to add music.

When they come out and locate the gas lines and fiber optic, I like to use those markings to put my posts’ in a straight line.
Me too, it's like they already did the work for you lol. (Hit my first gas line last summer on a Friday afternoon)
🤣
We don't have a skid steer but we do have a kx040 excavator with remotes. Up to 17gpm adjustable. Can that run the RHINO HPD 60 ?
Are you able to put a barb arm or loop cap on it?
Good work 💪

The gas pounders can often be rented from tool stores or fence companies. Brings the cost down considerably.

I don't think so. You're making the post heavier, but you're also lessening the impact the driver is having.
@@SWiFence but is “I don’t think so” the swi way?! I don’t think so… I think you should try it.
How deep would you go in a really wet clay soil for a 6’ fence?
My guess is 3'? ua-cam.com/video/mc92svvCRFo/v-deo.html
Excellent examples .. thank-you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Instead of going to Wyoming, how about coming down here to Key largo to try and drive some posts!
Er... I think no. 🤣🤣
Hey what size of pipe are you using in this video?
ss20 I think it was
I’s like to collect all that rock for my home LOL
My company still drives posts by hand.😢
😬
Wait are you the pool guy from TikTok?
If not he’s you twin!
I am!
My only "nasty comment" is that I don't have one of those fence pounders!

Most farmers would have a tractor that would run the hydraulic driver .
Good point.

Hey! Par for the course! 🤣
