He looks like a right little Prince Charming! Those outfits were on point and loved the gold leaf and accessories on Janette. Loved this dance, was actually my favourite one of the night. Character and mood were spot on and he was totally leading her! Yeah it wasn't perfect but I thought he did an amazing job!
My fave of the night, if not the series so far.
This was the dance of the series so far for me. The song choice was great and HRVY looks really intense and plays this character so well - like really passionate. Janette flying at him, absolutely stunning.
I LOVE A DARK DANCE. This is the best tango of the series by a long shot in my opinion and was absolutely jam packed with content from the double promenade runs to the constant staccato changes of direction it was a really hard routine. I personally can’t find the mistakes that the judges saw however, there was some gapping issues towards the end. Also, this could have been his costume (which I love and want) but his shoulders looked ever so slightly raised at times, which I have no doubt is down to the pent up adrenaline he will have acquired throughout the dance. The storytelling was fantastic and the intent throughout the dance was brilliant. He has one of the most professional neck and head placements I have seen on strictly in a long time especially when he is spotting during spins and changing direction. This should have been top of the leaderboard tonight. 9/10

@@tomhayes413 Although Maisie’s tango was good i still think in terms of storytelling, attack and content that this one was better, i would love to see them do it again perhaps in the final because it is a dance that could definitely get them some 10’s

How much did he get
He leaded this Tango superbly!! Along with a few minor mistakes but were almost unnoticeable to me. His attack and focus was amazing and Janette was incredible in this routine aswell she gave HRVY all the potential he needed, 9!

This is where I discovered this track in the first place. I really liked it as well as how well the routine fits with the music, and how Hrvy and Janette dance it. Costumes are fab too. I now play the original track and album, but still come back to watch this routine as I enjoy it as an ensemble dance/music piece. Re many of the remarks below, suffice it to say that the BBC band and singers on SCD do a fantastic job, are very talented, and are a vital part of the show. Anyone who wants to listen to the original track is free to do so.
For the people saying the singing was bad, this show is about the dancing and there is no need to say it was terrible. The people who sing the songs try their hardest so at least appreciate it. I am not saying it was amazingly sung but I'm just saying keep your opinions to yourself. Treat people with kindness
Sorry, I have made a comment mentioning it. I was just disappointed because all day is was annoying my family, saying how excited I was because HRVY is my favourite on strictly and Harry Styles is one of my favourite artists and golden is one of my favourite songs. I apologise and yes, tpwk x

also, the singers have to be equipped to cover such a variety of songs in different styles, and have to have pretty massive ranges; so they may not be as perfect and polished as the original artists, or other people who do covers.
I actually love that SCD is a show with a live band & singers. These singers perform such a variety of songs and styles, amazing. So what if it is not perfect.
the songs sometime makes the dancers look better.

One of the most difficult Tangos in recent years, Hrvy was a very masculine lead throughout - im sure he would nail it if he had to do it again with no mistakes but still awesome!! 😍

I don’t mean to be rude, but as a musician, I appreciate that these singers won’t suit every single style they sing as it is impossible. They have a particular style that they do best, generally this orchestra is good at the more theatrical numbers, and this was obviously not in their style but that doesn’t mean that they ruined the song. Harry Styles wrote this song to suit his vocal style so he is going to be better at singing it than these singers, but they are extremely talented musicians and I don’t think they deserve any criticism. No hate towards you, but I thought I would voice my opinion :)

A fundamental part of strictly and ballroom more generally is live music. These musicians learn and perform so many songs from different genres every week, and yes, not every performance is flawless. But to write off the live music in general is a massive discredit to the talent in that band.

I thought this was fantastic. Such a beautiful song. Lovely stalky footwork, great posture and his promenade Tango walk was spot on. It was almost like an Argentine Tango at times. The chemistry between them in this is amazing. I think they are harsh on HRVY. Like he did one of my favourite Tangos as a performance. Body contact 👌. Great travel across the floor and a lovely fallaway into the chases. I think this is just as good as his Salsa and Jive and his best Ballroom dance to date. All he needs to work on is extending his frame and then he will really be the front runner. Janette usually doesn't choreograph anything special for Ballroom but tonight she stepped up to the plate. My favourites to win now 😁. *9/10*
9 (I'm really starting to like him and see his improvement week by week now. I think that he might become more of a ballroom boy as the show goes on. He had brilliant posture and footwork and maintained a strong frame throughout most of the dance. There were a few tiny mishaps here and there but overall I thought he brought it. Also loved Janette's choreography on this one)

To say HRVY hated the Tango he did such an impressive Tango full of drama and passion. I thought the song was apt because this Tango was golden😊

It must be hard because janette is so small. The song let them down though, the costumes where so cool and dramatic but the song didn’t match. The choreo was fire and different. The drama behind the dance and the sharpness was amazing! Very controlled and his frame was so straight and elegant!
I would have LOVED to see this with proper tango music. Would’ve elevated it

Imo the first dance was the best one
The song is "Golden" and this tango was not so far from gold. Lovely choreography by Janette, lots of proper tango content. HRVY has shown a completely new mature, more darker side. His characterization of the dance was FANTASTIC, his footwork was truly lovely and brilliant, he was totally into the dance, his frame was great, he danced with Janette as one unit and this is the whole idea of ballroom dancing. For me, on the negative side, it was lacking more sharpness and more connection to the floor, meaning the stalking action that is very important in this dance. Haven't said that, he gave a wonderful performance, his footwork was so lovely to behold, he didn't miss a heel lead, he was glued to Janette all the way through, he had load of attack and loads of intention. BRAVO!!!

I usually don't comment on the singing but this is one of my favourite songs at the moment so... anyway, that aside I feel HRVY is slowly getting that old confidence back. I felt something has been missing in him the last couple of weeks so I'm glad we're seeing him return to normal!

I don’t know if I realized there was a decent height difference between them. Either way that was amazing. At first I thought they were tripping over themselves, but I think that was actually part of the choreography. Regardless, his frame is perfect and this was maybe my favorite routine of the night. I don't know what you mean, literally never heard the song before and thought it was great. Looked up the original song and the tone is exactly the same... I don't think you can blame the singer for having a different sounding voice

He's clearly a talent and someone who has dancing in his feet and arms. I just hope that with not that many weeks ahead, he doesn't plateau so we have to accept his best moment had passed. This was a bit awkward and all over the place at moments as it lacked a bit of harsh sex-appeal a tango has to have, but smooth and sharp in other places. 8!
PS. This lounge bar version of Golden was truly terrible.
