I realised there was an error in the timeline as well. I wrote the 2009 - Greg Inglis series twice when it was supposed to say, 2008 - Shock Changes, oops. Anyways, thanks for the ongoing support of this channel I am forever grateful!!!!
All good! What a legendary team... 11/12 series wins from 2006-2015! It would have been interesting to know what would have have happened if Queensland lost 2006 series instead of winning it! That 2006 win gave them so much momentum going forward! By the way, the videos on the playlist on my channel just might change someone's life!
Do a documentary on cowboys 2015 grandfinal win show all the bad calls that robbed their chances in the years prior. Go off on the story of thurston winning at bulldogs and debuting at cowboys in 2005 losing grandfinal too tigers and the long 10 year battle to get back there and win against broncos in arguably the best grandfinal of all time.
Best 10 players I have seen (in my lifetime) in no particular order: Greg Inglis Darren Lockyer Cameron Smith Alfie Langer Billy Slater Jonathon Thurston Cooper Cronk Andrew John's Mat Rogers Stacey Jones
I see a few foreigners in the comments, great to see. Origin would go viral if put in front of the right crowd. Hopefully League does spread from the few countries it's big in and test football gets like this. The old Great Britain v Australia tests were brutal, absolute carnage while also being great contests. The 90 series is some of the best footy I've ever seen, it's on UA-cam. Game 2 1990 is the best test match I've ever seen, i go back and watch it occasionally.
Great video man! Always been a fan of this style of video from SB nation and have routinely begged them to make them to no response, so to see someone go and make one off their own back is awesome. Videos like this are probably the best way to preserve the history of the game in this day and age, so I really hope you keep making this type of video. Cheers
Stopped watching Origin lately when I used to be a Maroons freak. Best period ever was from 06 to 16. Best memories. Best players. Living legends. It will never be seen again.
Its crazy that after losing the 9th straight series QLD went on to win another 3 straight series. It was basically 12 years of domination minus a hiccup lol
The 2009 game 3 Price incident got my whole street angry. I lived next to unit blocks on both sides, the whole street was going ballistic. When Locky was talking to the boys before they put it up, everyone knew what was coming. Hearing my placid neighbours scream for blood is funny now, the whole state was furious. The Blues had to know what was coming but poor Gidley was alone at the back. Stull makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up thinking on it, we were born to hate the Blues, hate isn't strong enough. Despise.
@@grandmalseashore yep, was unlike him. It looked like he was trying to put it in the middle of them but it just kept going, would've been better if he chipped it to one of the forwards. My uncle lives at Banora point, right on top of the hill. When he and my father were little my grandfather got posted to a base in Sydney, that day he said he had a blood transplant to NSW blood while dad stayed loyal. Origin meant so much to my dad, he had to pick me up from training one night and the game had just started. He screams at me to run to the car and he drove like a maniac to get home, even going down a one way street the wrong way and doing a handbrakie. All totally out of character normally, but origin time he would change. Passed it on to me but my boys don't care much at all. Switched at birth or the milkman got to the missus maybe.
12:10 to this day the grubbiest thing I've ever witnessed on the field. For the most part what happens on the field stays on the field but that was inexcusable
From an afl perspective, seems to me QLD simply had a settled core group of champions- and just like the aussie cricket team of the late 90s on were just lucky to be able to call on gr8ness on every line 3specially with those sorta play makers. And like all dynastys they would only have the occassional blip, usually due to some either amazing play or great coaching feat which would only be a one off. The tide will turn, but who knows which state will be lucky with having a great group of stars with all the right team attributes at the same time again... it may very well be qld again!?!
Your vid is let down by not having the full highlight clips (not sure if it a rights issue) but always fun to relive the glory days, In Billy we trust lets go 10 in a row this time QUEENSLANDER!
Thanks for this document it's brings back memories QLD always play with confidence teamwork game plan defence the spirit of QLD loyal united to people of QLD they are legends I ❤️ my Queenslander Boyz it down in history generation after generation 🎉🎉😅
Also you should watch the 2002 Preliminary Final, the Broncos vs Roosters. Possibly the most obvious case of rigging in recent history. Two years later Harrigan was hired by the Roosters as payment for his services.
The Greg Inglis playing for QLD thing will forever be the biggest “Yeah but why?” In modern NRL, the guy went to the same school as my brother in NSW, how that was ever allowed to go through I’ll never understand
20:51 Also should mention that after that lost series after winning 8 straight, QLD won another 3 in a row. It was actually 12 years of near domination.
That Hodgson knock on that was called play on was easily the worse call in Origin. The reason being that the video ref had a chance to rectify the on field decision
Suggestion: Vids on rugby league dynasties over the years like 80s eels 80s bulldogs late 80s early 90s raiders 70s manly 60s and early 70s south’s dragons 11 straight etc?
I'm a NSW fan, why am I punishing myself by watching this? Such a stacked team that had so much experience playing together in club and eventually in rep footy. The only chance NSW ever had was trying to bash Queensland up.

Its amazing how the legends who played in the early 2000s and 2010s are now coaching the new generation of queensland origin stars. Great video
Up the maroons 🥵
Some better than others
No it isn't, that's standard practice.
Ill never forget when they won in 06 I was like whatever they can have it how little I knew that a dynasty was about to begin
So Did I and I wasn’t even born😂😂😂😂😂😂
It went from boom boom boom shake the room. To tik tik tik tik booom!
I was lucky to be at the game in Melbourne. The after party was phenomenal and I ended up married as a result.
I still get goosebumps watching Lockyer scoring that wining try. I still remember the night and the headache the next day at work 😂
Growing up as NSW fan over this period was straight torture
I wish I watched NRL back then, Victorian and grew up with AFL, still love it, but we don't have SOO anymore.
As a Queenslander living in NSW, I felt like a king amongst peasants lol.
Watching the highlights of this period brings a tear to my eye. I love my State. QUEENSLANDER !!
Greg Inglis was never dropped for Game 2 in the 2006 series, he was injured.
thats what i thought
💯
I just said exactly what you said before reading your comment.

Greg Inglis

Always admired Stacy Jones even if he is a NZer, agree completely with the list
Good but the only that’s missing is benji
Mar rogers isn’t even top 50
@tigerwalccer Yea for sure
Benji was crazy to watch live. Especially that flick pass in the GF
Mark Tookey
It’s just fascinating hearing all these old names.
Like the pedophile Finch :X
I remember watching this in Samoa and I was thinking we were gonna lose again. But man that was amazing run.
Great doco... perfect timing as an reading Cam Smith's book. Keep up the great content!
i am reading it also.

That Lockyer try was that of an immortal. Just to be up there close enough and have that foresight is genius.
Another great video. Your channel is criminally underrated. Video suggestion - Every teams best fan favorite / cult hero

I think it's good again. I thought we could never regain the glory when all those guys retired, but the QLD Jersey just forges new champions.
