Where Tom and Jerry get sidelined in their own movie. Like, what was the point of making another feature length movie, when Tom and Jerry were gonna be treated like side characters. They didn't even get any character development at all. When they get locked up in the pound, they briefly fight, instead of trying to have anything meaningful come out of their squabbles earlier. Jerry never gets called out for his despicable behavior and really, the upcoming spin off show likely won't have them actually develop as characters, who should develop past enemies.
I had a similar idea about Jerry facing the consequences of his mischief in the movie. Glad to hear others thought the same thing. When I was a child, I actually wondered why Jerry was hated by adults.... I know now.
The animations does work sometimes, but it does become noticeable that it’s 3D when we get close up. And the cartoony slapstick style of animation can be difficult in 3D.
@@KaeMcSpaddenI heard that the reason why they didn’t use 2D animation is because it would have took 3 years to animate in same style as Roger Rabbit.

Yeah. It was cheesy and corny, but Rocky & Bullwinkle were always cheesy and corny no matter what. And that's why I actually enjoyed that film. June Foray's performance especially (May she rest in peace).
I think that movie worked better because much of the movie’s focus centered on Sonic as it should since Sonic is the main character whereas here it feels like Tom and Jerry were treated more like secondary characters than anything else. This is also why I personally enjoyed both Space Jam and Back in Action since the looney tunes were the primary focus for both movies instead of the live action humans. However no hybrid movie will ever be better than Roger Rabbit. I almost see it as impossible to do.
@Sean Anderson yeah I know but in the movie he's voiced by a lady in order to sound like a child also he sometimes has girly eyelashes to make him look cute
After how bad the reviews for this film were, I’m entirely unsurprised to see it get the seal of garbage tbh. How you can make a Tom and Jerry film *NOT* about Tom and Jerry is beyond me, and I’m entirely glad I didn’t decide to see it. Like, even that animated Tom and Jerry movie that had them talking was better than this shiet.
I still haven’t seen the new Tom And Jerry movie yet but I think that I’ll watch it on HBO Max instead of in a theater. I’m actually seeing Raya And The Last Dragon tomorrow in a theater, which would mark a whole year since I last saw a movie on the big screen.
My only complaint about this movie is the human characters story, they tried to make it seem so important to learn off of something, but this is supposed *Tom and Jerry!!* We don't give a crap about the humans or their life problems, all we care is seeing Tom and Jerry trying to kill each other in most hilarious way. Yeah I know most of the slapstick's were hit and misses, but at least their were kinda trying to stay true about Tom and Jerry when their actually on screen
Another crappy Live action CGI hybrid movie based on a popular cartoon made in the 40s. Me: ah shit, here we go again. Let’s hope the new space jam and Godzilla vs. King Kong make up for this shit.
There is ONE joke I really want to see in a Wile. E Coyote movie. Somebody sees Wile E. chasing the roadrunner, and they say something like "Hey, aren't coyotes faster then roadrunners?" There's a beat, and then Wile E. just starts going superspeed
That’s what happens when you’re the only one who only seen the T&J shorts in a crew overseas that doesn’t know what it’s about. (Gene did Hate Tom and Jerry at first but later grew a soft spot for it. Claiming that the violence was just an “Exaggeration Of Human emotions”)
The Gene Deitch shorts are very hit and miss. They're surreal cartoons with major rough edges, which is understandable considering that only the original creators fully understand their own creations.
I'm actually surprised this video isn't flagged as "Children's entertainment" and the comment section is still open. It's like UA-cam and WB are onto the joke.
it’s been revealed back in August of last year that the writers of Sonic The Hedgehog movie were called by WB to write Tom and Jerry (2021). But WB executives get rid of Pat and Josh because they don’t want the cat and mouse to be the main focus. The source is by a website cartoon brew and by a podcast called The GHZ Podcast (The podcast isn’t available on UA-cam but somewhere different and I found this on a tweet)
Thank god, that one of the movie theaters that is close to me have reopened near me, that way, I can see Raya and the Last Dragon on the big screen. Speaking of which, can’t for your review on that movie next week, Animat.
I respect your opinion, but there is NO way this is the worst of Tom and Jerry, that honor would go to the 1975 show and the comedy show, those are UNWATCHABLE, this still has nice animation, and some nice slapstick, it looks like the animators actually tried
Me personally I think the 90's movie has a way better plot then 2021 film because the 90s film had Tom and Jerry as the main focus of the movie while the B plot was about the little girl but both stories connected well to each other the 2021 movie on the other hand I feel like the filmmakers should have focused on writing a story first to make Tom and Jerry feel like they fit into this and they serve a purpose
I fell asleep watching this (no reflection on the quality of your work - I was VERY tired) and woke up to the "Don't you believe it" moment. Terrifying. I remember seeing that in a nightmare fuel vid on UA-cam.

I hate how Disney and Warner Bros like to cheat by using 3D to look like 2D animation! It really disrespects the original style. Studios often forget where they came from. Disney cheated with Chip n Dale movie! If they we’re going to feature 2D characters (Tom and Jerry), then why not make them 2D?
I have a feeling that maybe Tom and Jerry and the animals might have come from the Warner Bros Animation Studio that is planning to have all their major characters to be cameos alongside the Looney Tunes characters in the new Space Jam movie, and maybe Tom and Jerry wanted to go to New York City and not be a part of that movie. I don't know but if Tom and Jerry have cameos in that movie, it would be the first time ever that Tom and Jerry and the Looney Tunes shared screen time together and maybe even bump into Sylvester and Tweety!
12:59 - 13:18 To be honest, that was really funny and clever when you compared it to a GTA 5 videogame and loved using the GTA 5 joke where you use dialogue of Franklin's friend says "N@$%&!" 😃 towards Franklin and Franklin was like "WHAT?!" 😨 and I bet that's how Tom and Jerry would talk if that actually happen. I loved playing GTA 5 videogames. LOL 😅😂🤣
Considering the track record of previous live-action CGI hybrids based on cartoons, I’m not surprised that this film wouldn’t be any better. P.S. It’s really saying something when Tuffy’s face during the scary tunnel scene in Tom & Jerry: Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory doesn’t scare me, but the fact that the live-action Smurfs film is turning *10 years old* this year does.
Oh saw that today on my google meet i like the animation and real life world but i perfer Original tom and jerry. because it's focused more with tom and jerry. i still like the movie but i like the Original better
Can’t just someone make a supercut of this film, where it only includes the Tom & Jerry scenes?! Those were the only enjoyable and good parts of this movie.
I wish Hollywood would stop fusing animated and live action. One or the other but not both. Only good ones I can remember to do this were who framed roger rabbit and space jam and only reason space jam gets a pass is because it was a product of it's time. It hasn't aged well

There are two Tom and Jerry chase scenes in this movie I really love, for unexplainable reasons: One is the very first chase after the opening credits. It seems like the camera is moved by hand as the shot looks like how a handheld camera tries to track the movements of T&J, instead of looking like the camera is moved by a stabilized trolley or something. *Something that can be directly perceived by a bystander.* The other is the Rube Goldberg machine trick. It's like "Designs on Jerry" but with a much more dynamic and detailed tracking look at the machinery. Looks really devious and the soundtrack sells it too. ... I guess if I were to come up with a conclusion it's that the comedy styling really goes all over the place. I mean there's a broken-up interrogation scene with the giant caption "Here's the Idea" with no explanation or lasting effect at all.
I haven’t seen this film yet, but I do understand that Warner bros is trying their best to make a Tom and jerry film. I better keep my expectations low though. When you mentioned GTA it looks like when GTA graphics meet Zelda BOTW graphics with the humans and the toons

Oh right, cuz the purists hate it when they become friends and they only want them to fight cuz that's their shtick. Sigh, poor Tom. Forever doomed to suffer the wrath of the sadistic, unlikable rodent because apparently lots of people want to see that because "They're supposed to do that!"
@@cintronproductions9430 I mean, it's fine to see them fight, cause that's what makes them entertaining. Heck, I loved seeing their antics growing up. However, I would like to see them actually develop in a movie. I know people hated the 1992 movie, but one thing it had going for it, was the concept of them becoming friends, which got wasted, due to focusing on the humans more.
It's the same thing here.
And the cartoony slapstick style of animation can be difficult in 3D.
why didn't they just make it 2d
@@jdawson7877 I don’t know, it would have been nice if they did.
@@KaeMcSpaddenI heard that the reason why they didn’t use 2D animation is because it would have took 3 years to animate in same style as Roger Rabbit.
Tom and jerry are actually frienemies, they do occasionally save each others ass from death or help each other.
Wich made both so likeable despite being so mean to each other, that and the characters mostly didn't get hurt by what the other was doing
Being honest I think alot of fans from now would have made the movie (1992) great and even if they had to add in some songs the one song that tom and jerry should sing is the frienimes song from phineas and ferb I mean seriously just change one or two lyrics and then boom that song is literally tom and Jerry's

Wouldn't it be Jerome?
Somehow the Sonic the Hedgehog movie made it work, it's the only time a cartoon/video game/live action hybrid movie since Roger Rabbit ever worked.

Yeah ive seen a few episodes of the 1980s comedy show, and the animation is awful, and dont even get me started on the music.

Dude, you should totally go for it and become a reviewer. I'd love to see a review of this film from you. I believe in you, man, make it happen for me!
There are two Tom and Jerry chase scenes in this movie I really love, for unexplainable reasons:
One is the very first chase after the opening credits. It seems like the camera is moved by hand as the shot looks like how a handheld camera tries to track the movements of T&J, instead of looking like the camera is moved by a stabilized trolley or something. *Something that can be directly perceived by a bystander.*
The other is the Rube Goldberg machine trick.
How many money did HBOmax put two movies came out in 2021?
