- Victims of religious extremism are NOT just non-Muslims & non-Malays.
Malay Muslims are also victims of religious extremism. Especially Malay women.

You are absolutely right, 'che Mariam! It's truly the responsibility of the unity government to right the wrongs created by the extremes! However, they are sitting on the fence for fear of offending the radical malays!
You are a clear and sobering voice that cuts through this cacophony of hate, greed and misogyny.
Thank you Mariam
Place the blame on the politicians who have vandalised our education systems. We never had such problems when I was growing up in the sixties. My best friends were Muslim Malays and we ate, played and socialise together. Then Dr Mahathir and his brand of politics came into our lives and everything changed. Anwar could be the change we need but I am not holding my breath for that to happen. Despite all the support he has received, he has done little to prove that he is ‘messiah’ that we were waiting for.
Perhaps he needs a much stronger base before he can really affect changes. That is my earnest prayer now.
Give him times,I believe that he will be able to do that n a promising Malaysia unless something unexpected happen before he could reform further
Got to give him time to prove himself, too many enemies are against him now. Anwar is the only hope for a better Malaysia , there’s no one else who is as rounded as he is...
No one dare to punish this mahathir...a bad thug
Who said no one dare to punish TM,Anwar dare just wait n see,,anyway regarding that he is already too old,n the number of days he has is just round the corner,,so just let him be,,,,

Thank you for reminding us the true value of Malaysia that we need to uphold.
SETUJU=rakyat miskin sentiasa mudah " dihukum " oleh pihak & manusia BERKUASA...
Inilah yng dipraktikan didunia Arab wujudnya islam sahingga kini,Contoh,Arab,Dubai,Brunei,Iraq.Turki, Pakistan, Bangladesh Dan juga di Malaysia,Undang undang undang Islam hanya dimartabatkan utk rakyat miskin sahaja
Dunia blh kat depan laa...tapi akhirat. Tak tau laaa...
Sangat setuju dengan Puan Mariam, rakyat biasa yang selalu diambil tindakan tapi yang kaya2 boleh lepas begitu saja! Adil ke? 🤔
Thank you for speaking out for all citizens. You speak wisely with courage and conviction, all truths, no compromise . May God continue to bless you with good health and long life . Thank you for being our voice.
You can't expect the Unity Government to change Malay mindset regarding religion instantly or in the short term after they had been brainwashed for decades. It's good enough that the UG is moving in the right direction. Let's support their efforts to bring positive changes.
Agreed 🤝
Well said. Time is of the essence and I'm of the opinion that the problems of decades brainwashing will be neutralise. Thanks.
Too much religion, go back to the 70's/80's, where it is just Chinese, Malay and Indians. Everyone have their own culture, language but we are essentially the same. No stupid restriction between us.
@@leealex24 If you are in that era, like me, you would know who was responsible for the unhealthy state of affairs/politics. UMNO under Madey was the main culprit. Although UMNO is in the UG, PH the reformist party is heading the coalition. This is better than the supposedly PH government under Mahathir who together with all those anti-Anwar bigwigs, purposely brought down the PH government to prevent Anwar from the PMship. Like I said, UG is moving in the right direction. Let's support their efforts to bring positive changes.
@@adamiskandar5107 Yes i fully support PH + BN. All Malaysians give your full backing for this, dont give any chance to the other side. Not even 1 seat if I can speak for everyone. :)

Person like you are open minded and talking the true
My father was in the police force and living in the quarters made us a part of a close knit community. Does this exist now or was it left behind in the last century? Even natural disasters don't seem to have changed the mindset. Do the narrow-minded believe their ancestors are all in hell because they didn't follow the present way of life?
It does not matter as all forms of religion are dumb. One day the religious leaders of the faith can change their interpretation of the holy book in one manner and another day in another manner. Best is to adopt secularism as the guiding principle and path. Secularism rules, okay?
A lot of the contemporaries are supposedly on the way to Hell since we don't observe the practices of certain community in certain period in time.
That’s why I left; for good. No person wants to leave the country of their birth by choice but circumstances compel them to.
Always so refreshing to listen to your views.
Thank you Mariam! We all, our country, need you.
Thank you for explaining. I'm unaware of many things happened in Malaysia.
Once again thank you.
Well said Mariam, hope things will change for the better.
Thank you che Mariam for your brave soft spoken words God bless and guide you always❤
I was once blamed for bringing in non-halal to reheat in the office pantry. She silently goes behind and puts all possible blame on me. When I knew I couldn't produce the fish bone for the HRD to see what I ate that day. This culture is still happening daily and everywhere. She is so young and behaves like this, what else she doesn't dare? A toxic environment is not a healthy relationship. All carry fake 🤥 how to address as colleagues and work as a team?

Mariam, I still don’t believe there is a person like you who dares to speak your mind about Muslim Malays. There is nothing wrong with malay muslim. Infact I have great respect for them. Just don’t impose your religion upon others. Anyway I have a tremendous admiration for you. It takes guts to say what you say. 😊

And some of us also hope that there will be a time where non-muslim Malays can carry on living their lives without any fear.
It goes without saying that extremism will impact on Malaysian society regardless of religious following. Kamal Attaturk realised the danger of religious extremism and thus proclaimed Turkiye as a secular state and not favoured Islam due to Christians living in its midst. Politics without religion is already a potent mix and to add race, religion and royalty into it will be a deadly brew as Malaysians are finding it out. Alas it will be the millstone around the neck of Malaysia forever more. Sad and unless we want to live free of the 3Rs, we will be a victim of it.
It merely replaced religious extremism with ultra nationalism for the turks. Who keep in mind, still continues to suppress majority Kurdish regions in Eastern Turkey. The state was also heavily influenced by the whims of the military who could take power from a democratically elected government if deemed it against " kemalist views ". Malaysia needs balance as to not pivot too much on either side of the political spectrum.
@@MonsierBlack There is no such thing as pivoting between secularism and religious fanaticism. The problem of the suppression is the intention of the will of the majority and notwithstanding there exists a majority of Kurds in the Kurdish homeland. This is no different to the problem found in Basque Separatism or even in the Scottish Nationalism to form a separate state. It has got nothing to do with the fact that in nearly 192 countries, secularism is the way the politics is organised with the exception of the Iranian theocracy.
@hangtuah888 I was referring to not going towards either extremes be it nationalism or Islamism. For the kurds, it does not matter if other nations have done suppression on their minority groups as it still does not justify turkish suppression of their kurdish minority as a wrong does not make it right. But for the examples that you did use which were Spain and the UK. They have significantly improved their treatment of their minority groups especially the UK as the government had even allowed a referendum to be held in Scotland for independence which is a very big thing. Turkey on other hand, has yet to make any change in fact as of recent news, purposely removed kurdish language courses in school which is a blatant attempt to suppress the Kurds.
@@MonsierBlack Unfortunately, you chose to ignore the Catalan vote for independence and yet their leaders were promptly rounded up and jailed. The Kurds posed a special problem as there are Kurds in Iraq and Syria which should be granted their own country but these three countries are fearful of fragmentation and separatism within their borders. No doubt the Kurds will eventually be granted their own homeland as we move into a multi polar world order.

I was in an all-Bumiputera / all Malay boarding school and remember listening to student-led religious speeches a.k.a “tazkirah”, laden with conspiracy theories of non-Islamic forces taking over the political sphere and governance of Malaysia, the content of which includes misguided understanding of concepts such as secularism. These speeches tend to be delivered in a charismatic way, unchecked and unchallenged, taken word for word by young and impressionable students!
Incompetent n corrupt leaders with no vision on how to develop their country will use race n religion to indoctrinate the naive public to gain support n get elected

Yes, many are aware of this. And this then continues upon entering government service or GLCs where brain washing sessions continue like during BTN etc etc.
Thank You Madam,for enlighting us
God Bless
I like most of your videos. It is amazing... Thank God for the wisdom which God has given you... It contant truth but only truth... ❤🙏
Spoken with the same true impartiality, vigor and boldness, Ma'am! 👏
Of all the other things he is doing well, I do agree for this part alone DSAI shouldn't have tell the rakyat off to merely "look at secularism and understand the full meaning of the term" , coz clearly some groups in our country just can't digest big words properly, and some clever fool will just bring a bunch of apes with him/her and mindlessly protest against a term😂. Even if there is, our half-baked politicians will just vomit out the definition without themselves fully understanding the true meaning, let alone amidst 63 years of Mahathirist and Hadiist rightist extreme fanatism.
So how then will secularism be fully understood without giving more and more excuses. Even the full meaning of İCERD they can't define, how much more will most politicians properly disseminate what is in secularism. And this is the problem with 64 yrs overzealous religious indoctrination and a lot don't even read their Holy books from A to Z, and yet cherry pick to suit political interests, in other words, they can just move on with life making religious hukums according to their suka Suki mak bapak, even if it is not in their Holy books. Mixing poisons will always be the answer to their excuses for not separating state from religion. What fickle mindedness can cause this attitude... 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Dear Mariam,TQ for all d yrs.of efforts making ur.vids. U like Siti K n other like-minded folkd voice out what nons can't say outright or in d public domain. Thank you madam 🙏🏾. Just wanted to share my own experience whilst I was in form 6. I had many Malay Muslim friends at school whom I grew up with but later early nineties they started to group together and the girls were pressured to wear hijab cos I have seen girls crying because of this. My first love was a Muslim girl and I would have married her if not for the religion bit cos I am not much of believer of higher anything
Fully agree with your view. Until the Malay themselves say enough of this BS controlling of their religion, do not expect any changes. Religion are personal matter between them and god.
it not happen along coming 30years ,
1) In Saudi Arabia , since Prince Bin Salman fully control Saudi , He manage improve lady right like became Pilot , car racing and even welcoming tourist visit Saudi despite straight or not BUT local Muslim mostly complaint Prince Bin Salman is proxy Israel just because Prince not doing like Malaysia muslim wish !! they prefer follow their way despite it will fail rather than Saudi success way
2) Simple example , Daun Ketum, rape cases , is hurting east coast state badly why not even one politician yelling? because they can't accept critic
3) government can take huge step improve wellfair but poverty is cause by mindset , why poor people always ego ?? because ego is only pride they can show off without pay ( by talk only) ....you want taken poor people ego is an impossible ...
True enough mdm...i 'vealay ladies without their tudung back in my days. Still humble nice n polite. But now they are hijabtized since baby!!! Wht wrg with religion? Whts trying to impose? They are bow more extremist than normal malays tht dont wear tudung.....n their heart as dark as it cld be
Why delivered this speech in English? It should be made in BM and be heard and understood by the Malays who only knew about their own race and religion and care nothing much about the welfare of their own country, not to mention about other races and religions!
SALAM MADAM....IT'S SO TRUE REGARDING PROPERTY INHERITANCE. TEENAGERS MUST BE GIVEN SEX EDUCATION TO AVOID UNWANTED EXPECTATIONS. SO MANY VALUABLE AND GRAVE POINTS YOU HAVE HIGHLIGHTED. THANK YOU MADAM...YOU ARE HIGHLY RESPECTED.💕👍
Thank you for highlighting the biased lifestyle in Malaysia . I grew up in a kampung. Me and my malay friends had so much of bond in the 80s.
Today my children don't understand how it was than.
The subject "Tatarakyat" was for all races those days. Today it's "Pendidikan Moral" only for non Muslims. No subjects are offered in schools that teach students to respect one another be it race or religion as a citizen of Malaysia. Really sad.
My Jawi teacher Cikgu Ibrahim, 38 years ago, praised me in class because I was really good in Jawi. I love all my Muslim friends and still remember them by name after 40 years.
Indians, Chinese and Malays need to respect each other, this is true Malaysia! standing in the eyes of the world.
I support your wise views. Our faith in God causes the circumcision of our hearts. When we truly and sincerely love God we will do things that please Him. We have peace with God, the peace of God and the peace to live and accept one another . Each person has to face God and give an account of his life on earth so no matter how hard we impose laws on people without the curcumcision of our hearts laws become futile! The Unity Government understands this principle , executes their commitment to bring our nation to greater glory! We will always pray for our leaders that God will empower them with wisdom , protection for them and their families and good health as they serve our nation. Negaraku, tanah tumpahnya darahku. Rakyat hidup BERSATU dan MAJU!
The best I have heard. Thank you🌹🌹 Puan Marian.

Tq Madam. I feel all of us are affected. The muslims n non muslims because a lot of manipulation. Tq
Please give your views in bahasa melayu. You have a great message. But it have to go to the malays. Other races are just waiting for changes. It's all up to the malays to the make the changes. We the non malays are minorities. We can't do much. The way forward is the malays. Are they ready to change and make a better future for themselves?
We the so called pendatang are willing to work together but we need the malays to trust us that we will NOT be able to take over. We can never take over because we will always be the the minority.
We are just waiting for the MALAYS to settle their own differences.
We just like to work and and let our BELOVED country to move forward.
That's the only way Malaysia to progress.
Be in unity and trust one another and move the country forward.
TOGETHER WE STAND AND TOGETHER WE FALL.

I like to point out my opinions regarding about religion n races,,mainly religions,(religion alone cannot feed your stomach n its only teach you how to be a worthwhile human ,good manner respect others as you need to be respectful to yourself) that all about religions, what most important for political people are to see your people live wisely n comfortablely make your country move forward toward rebuilding a better future,,bukan agama semata2
It is so sad in this country that some ppl just never learn....
Love your talk, content and voice Mariam .. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ … love you .. keep up the good work …
Mariam, all issues will keep on coming and visiting us, non stop.. we can keep islam, as the official religion in malaysia, no objection on that.. but religions not suppose to penetrate into political arena.. example religious political parties, this suppose to be shut down completely. This won t bring any goodness in a multicultural malaysia.. no political religious parties, all this must be abolished.. or else there will be more blunders to come in future, just a waiting time only, but surely it will come
Nice Pilea. ❤️❤️❤️

Agree that the new unity govt should tackle the problem of religious extremism heads on. The rakyat is helpless and they can only act by voting for the parties of unity govt. The govt is the one with resources and authority to act, it is failing the rakyat if it allows religious extremism to bully everyone.
Their ways is to destroy a religion & hv control on others. So sad.

Che Mariam, you show great courage, but I regret that the mistakes cannot be corrected. We need only compare India vs. China. India is everything that you say of Malaysia and China is everything that is reflected in Singapore (white cat or black cat). Agreed! Any think extreme is not good 👍 Middle path is the best.
I saw a video sharing that secularism is not separation of state n religion, secularism is a religion itself. about a year ago I think. N it further explains why etc. Since then I'm hooked on the topic in the internet lol. Videos from bookworms that share their insights on political books like the impossible state by Wael Hallaq etc. N this process kept blowing my mind as I see more sharings 🤯 but it was all mainly by foreigners, it's not up till recently that I've started looking at more sharings by in the Malaysian context about these kind of topics. Algorithm brought me to the local context finally? Idk. Well, maybe also many months ago I think I subconsciously avoid them? Idk. I've never bothered w the state as a lower class Sabahan that live amongst stateless friends. And if I saw this video maybe before I somehow found myself reading, listening on this political ideologies stuff, I would have definitely agreed w your points. But now, I can see sharings like yours in many perspectives, and some I agree and some I don't. So for now, throughout this exploration, my stance is that I see Islam as something truly transformative for a society if implemented by a just ruler ie caliphate state. I see it quite revolutionary for a belief/political system introduced/revealed 1500 years ago in a dessert - sandwiched by 2 empires at that time that didn't care about the Arabs as they were seen as savages lol, well atleast from what ive read so far la. I'm very limited. Sorry if this sounds ignorant or not correct for anyone reading, do reply if you want, and I can learn more. But I feel like... commenting, suddenly, coming from my limited and unscholarly background. When actually I don't really comment on videos or posts etc. Emm. Maybe because these topics has been lingering for these past few months and I don't have anyone in my circle that can freely talk about this. Lol offtrack. Anyway, I also don't really follow politics, however it's hard to avoid when I'm hooked on the secular word haha. So, stumbling upon your video is great, I've never known about the cases you mentioned. It just makes me think a lot. And it makes me think that Islam, for now, as a modest religion by it's essence that has Quran and Sayings and Reports of Prophet Muhammad, peace n blessings be upon him, ushers/guides the individual, the family unit and then the society to always be in moderatness, being in the middle in between the extreme right and extreme left whilst being in awe of Allah. So I appreciate really that you are sharing cases that comes from extreme enforcement of a belief ie Islam in this video. It humbles me into reflecting that I must remember not to be extreme and have to exercise scepticism on different belief systems in our society
If the Madani Leader is busy organizing Kuda Kepang shows everywhere, reformasi will remain the Colour Grey lor!! You are right. The majority of my Malay Muslim friends in Sarawak say they are scared of religious extremism too. That's a reason why PAS can't get a strong foothold here.
“When anyone studies a little or pays a little attention to the rules of Islamic government, Islamic politics, Islamic society and Islamic economy he will realize that Islam is a very political religion. Everyone is a victim of religious extremism, or any extremism in any country at any time. Period.
Medieval time religion state is to strengthened military power. Modern society religion state is to strengthened politicians power. Because human mind is easily toy by religious concept... 🤭
I dunno what went in Anwar's mind by saying something like that. Religion extremism, in Malaysia's case I dare dub that as "Agamaku", isn't exactly making the supposed "good guys" as heroes.
The DAP and Chinese play card will never be wiped out from the Malay mindsets. This is reality
I truly salute madam!
But some malays they dont understand it.
No thanks to the too many ustaz(s) who are over qualified, very influential and forgot we're multiracial. It's a matter of "proper" interpretation & understanding bcuz Islam is b'tiful
It is immensely liberating not to be tethered to the stagnated 'cultural inheritance' of race n' religion as a fixed cystallised identity. We are living in an actively melding global society that demands fresh humans, fresh ideas, fresh beingness to evolve out of the rut. Religious romantics are like BIRDS BORN IN A CAGE THINK FLYING IS AN ILLNESS.
Please don't mixed your metaphors as it is difficult enough to navigate the trials and tribulations of religious fanaticism without you adding to it. Cest la vie.

A truly down to earth explanation. Now it appears that after the tight rope walk that our dear leader has to perform with the PAS net on one side and PKR net on the other he is playing to the gallery so that he will win one way or the other. Remember that his credentials as founder of ABIM are in his back pocket to be added to his non secular declaration of the state. PAS will embrace him should he fall onto their net. Otherwise he will continue the way he is just to secure votes but not to keep to his promises to the rest because the rest can wait for all he cares.
I agree, especially the part about sex education. Moral education promotes biases toward issues concerning the LGBT community too.
