These US-made vehicles are almost indestructible in Ukraine

- In this video, we delve into the incredible performance of US-made MaxxPro mine-resistant armored fighting vehicles in Ukraine's battle against Russian forces. The MaxxPro's unparalleled resilience has made it a prime target for the Russians, yet it remains virtually indestructible. Originally designed to safeguard soldiers in Iraq from improvised explosive devices, the MaxxPro boasts a "V-shaped" hull that deflects explosions away from the crew, along with the ability to withstand ballistic arms fire, mine blasts, IEDs, and other emerging threats. With seating for 12 personnel and a powerful 7.62 or 12.7 mm machine gun housed in its turret, the MaxxPro has become an essential asset for Ukraine's defense. Discover the significance of the US military aid package, which included the delivery of 200 of these formidable vehicles.
Not indestructible, but likely to keep the crew and passengers alive after a hit, which is definitely worth something
Indestructible when the Ukrainians only have Soviet armored vehicles that catch fire and kill the occupants instead of surviving the mine like these do. I’ve seen so many BMPs, BTRs and T-72, T-62, even T-80s blow up and kill the crew from just a single tank mine. These were designed to withstand IEDs with are much more powerful than tank mines. There’s a military report documenting the total survival of the crew of a Cougar MRAP that hit 190kg of explosives or rougly 400 pounds.

None of soldiers lost ... That's the main purpose i cannot say on the russian side if they survive when a Javelin or Nlaw hits their vehicles
They work...I know for certain. Here's my story.
A Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was detonated under my seat while riding in a MRAP in March 2008, Hawija, Iraq.
I was riding in the third vehicle in a column of five MRAPs traveling on the Main Supply Route (MSR), a paved road, returning to Base after a long day of missions outside the wire. We were talking and working with Sunni Villagers. We were asking them to stop shooting at us and to join the "Awakening" and "Sons of Iraq" and fight with us instead of working against us. A new common enemy was joining the fight that we both hated and feared...ISIS was coming. Anyway, the day was ending we were loaded up and headed home. After eating Iraq dust all day, it's like talcum powder, I was so parched I could barely speak. I unfastened my safety harness and stood up in a crouch, I was reaching for a bottle of water from a case of water on the MRAP floor. Just as I touched the bottle, I still remember how hot the bottle felt, a insurgent sitting in the field touched two wires to a car battery he had laying on the ground and detonated an artillery shell buried under the paved road and directly below my seat. I was instantly launched into the ceiling at a very high velocity headfirst and eventually landed in a soldier's lap that sat opposite me. The soldier, a Sargeant and the team medic thought it was just the top half of my body that landed on him, I believe he got sick... fortunately for me it wasn't I was still whole and intact but with one hell of a headache. I was also fortunate to have kept my Kevlar helmet on, I think that 6 or 7 pound of Kevlar saved me from more serious injury. Our MRAP was now destroyed but we were alive. The tires were blown out, pieces of the undercarriage and sides were blown off and were littering the road and adjacent fields as were the metal doors that housed equipment on the sides of the vehicle. The good news is nothing sharp or hot entered the crew compartment. No-one was killed, maimed or seriously injured. The other MRAPs immediately formed a defensive perimeter around our badly damaged MRAP while we waited for a anticipated attack by insurgents that never came. Finally after waiting several anxious hours a QRF or Quick Reaction Force arrived to bring us home and to recover our damaged MRAP...Whatta day it was I was so glad it ended with us going home together and everyone still in one piece.
Thankfully my injuries from hitting the ceiling head first have pretty much healed or at least have calmed down over the years, now its just a little back and neck pain. I guess I've just learned to live with the discomfort that pops up now and again, like most veterans. 2008 was my second of four deployments, I was luckier than many that served. Anyway that's my testimonial regarding how many injuries and deaths were and continue to be prevented once MRAPs are available for use in the field. So God Bless the folks that thought of, designed and built these life saving behemoths they work.
These and the Bradleys are being used in a ww1 style fight.

Since the Ukraine counter-offensive started, with its objective of being in Crimea within a few days, so far they have not managed to break through the initial Russian defences let alone come to the first of the three layer defensive structures. It is estimated Ukraine has lost at least 7,000 soldiers to say nothing of dozens of tanks personnel carriers artillery etc.
All wasted on a war they won't win.
Meanwhile russia loses half of its army

He’s waaay overstating this things capabilities. Is it probably the best 4-wheeled troop carrier? Yeah. Is it invulnerable? Hell no. It’s still a truck, with just with some light armor and smart design. Artillery and tank cannons will still destroy it, and mines have a good chance of disabling the vehicle. What makes it good is crew survivability.
Can't withstand explosive drones though
most vehicles dont
ALMOST indestructable.
Not our fault we make quality equipment, lol.
Russians are just jealous !
Depends on the drone, it can shrug off grenades pretty easily
The direct impact explosive drones disable them definitively if they can get a good hit, however the damage is pretty easy to repair if they can recover it. Either way, the most important thing is the crew have a good chance of surviving, and that’s the best thing a vehicle can have on its side
Yes it can. It can literally withstand IEDs. Which are typically hundreds of pounds of explosives. Tank mines weight no more than 30 pounds. And this MRAP was built to withstand IEDs in Afghanistan which were 5-6x the size of tank mines.

For real I expect I full pay back plus interest war ain’t free and this ain’t a charity
I’m always dumbfounded when Americans talk about the “cost” of helping the Ukrainians with such equipment when in the end it’s actually saving you money.
So, here’s the reason it’s saving you money, these vehicles were built to protect your soldiers in Iraq/Afghanistan from IEDs, and in that task they were highly successful and were worth the cost of making them, but, the US has pulled out of these countries and no longer have a use for these vehicles because strategic planning is now looking at a high level conflict with a peer or near peer adversary where these vehicles are not a part of what the military needs.
So apart of a few they palmed off on local law enforcement most of these vehicles were going to go into storage somewhere and in case you don’t understand such things that’ll cost you money, and it will also cost you more money when they eventually have to be scrapped.
What you are actually complaining about is the sunk cost, but you have already paid that, don’t be fooled by the “dollar amount” attached to obsolete equipment being given that’s surplus to your needs and will actually cost you more to keep or scrap.
Yeah but they are burning in Ukraine
