Hi Alison. The secrets to successful seed germination are 1) Keep warm 2) Keep moist (but not wet) 3) Keep in a bright place (but not direct sunlight) when germinated. 4) Always use new compost preferably a type that is made for seedlings.
I was wanting to winter sow seeds in a container outdoors this year, do you think it will work for these? I've never done it, but seems to work for some seeds.
Thank you for your detailed guidelines on gardening. A humble request, could you please ask your programmer to raise the sound and if possible, also look into audio quality? I really want to hear everything clearly in your videos. Thanks again.
What type of compost do you use? I used special seed compost & it was too fine & compacted, they failed. When I used normal compost twiggy, lumpier I had 90% success.
I really like your videos. I wish you mentioned your zone or general area and also mention when you are starting them. I could then calculated and get an idea of when to plant in my area/zone.
Thank you for your appreciation. I cannot give specific zone advice as people from all around the world watch these videos and it would be impossible to cover all areas. However I do advise to look at your seed packet for planting times as this will be tailored to your zone. Good luck with your growing.
@@LearnHow2 Yes, I understand that you can't advise on all zones but if you mention your zone, people can make the calculation in their mind to get a rough idea about their own zone. Anyway, enjoying your videos so good luck to you as well :)
Hi, Sir i buy the same seeds.. from the same company on the video.. do I need to 'Cold Stratification' them before sow?.. If , Yes.. how long should i put them in the refrigerator.. thank you .
great would be good to know when you start sowing and time frames from seed to picking . is there any feeding when in the ground. when you say keeping seedlings after leaf form and transfer warm are they in a glass house , in the middle of summer, or heat mat.
Hi Bella. I sowed indoors mid March, put the pots out in the day for a week when the danger of any frost had passed and brought in at night. Then planted in the ground but no feeding given thereafter. If your soil is devoid of nutrients it would be best to feed every couple of weeks.

Your new subscriber 👍 1 question , pls tell me that can we do watering oftenly when we plant the seeds( during germination time)? Pls reply must Thanks
Thank you for subscribing! The plastic lid should hold the moisture in when germinating but if the soil looks as if it is starting to dry then give it a spray with mist. Keep safe.
@@Fatimaali-xs3pp Hi Fatema. I think this may be a problem called 'Flower Balling'. It is caused by Cool, wet weather that saturates the outer petals and then the sunshine dries and fuses them into a tight, papery shell, preventing the bud from opening. There are things you can do - I suggest a Google search for cures.
