Very few of the biggest podcasters have really experienced a tough life. They struggled in the beginning as we all do but there is a reason why their podcasts are so big. If the ordinary guy in the street starts a podcast like these, no oke would listen. So they absolutely have a head start.
Tim is far more intelligent and intellectual than he puts off to be. The more you watch and listen you realize how well read he is and it makes him a great interviewer. Great podcast.
And somehow Tim read that many books, but only went a year to a community college. Also, how did he keep reading, and retaining what he read, while that drunk and after snorting that many lines?? In all his rants against his mom, I think he forgot about the thousands of hours she helped along his education. Or maybe his dad, when his fingers grew tired of strumming his guitar, discussed these matters of high import to our pig?? Who knows, but he picked up that stuff somewhere.

My mother is a schoolteacher & I only work in sales however I read alot & it does help with my commissions. Took me a long time to get interested in learning. The act of reading stimulates the memory itself. With Tim the addition of good cocaine may have triggered that memory skill development & some OCD with books haha.

Tim Dillon is actually intelligent as hell. I think it gets overshadowed by his sly comedic interjections. But he explains social phenomena very well, in ways I hadn't thought of and make perfect sense.
Tim’s break down of the global financial crisis on History Hyenas is by far the most succinct and concise, no BS, jargon-free summary I have seen. It’s a level of insight yet simplicity that most professors could only dream of achieving.
I’ve loved Tim’s comedy and style for a little minute now but until I listened to Lex interview him a week or two ago from the first time he had him on I didn’t realize how incredibly intelligent he is. He will go down as one of the greatest and I hope he gets the notoriety and fame that he seeks...that was incredible to hear how absurdly quick witted and not tiring he was to listen to.
You hit the nail on the head with the only issue I have with Lex. He hasn't had to deal with actual stupid people for his whole adult life, and instead is only exposed to intelligent and kind people. That's 90% a good thing, but everyone needs at least a little exposure to stupid people to understand why the world is where it is. Lex often expresses (often meaning every single episode of his podcast) his bewilderment of evil and terrible things people do, whereas every Tim podcast episode is like "Well no sh** everything's terrible. Most people out here are F***ED UP".

Absolutely. Love the chemistry. On paper they couldn't be more different, aside from both being podcasters who hang out with comedians, but they have a certain understanding and level of mutual respect that's really endearing.

Tim was a child actor, he's been a salesman (at one point in a scam industry), and he's come up through places like New York (where he was once a tour guide) and LA, and he's in comedy, where everyone is largely fake and full of mental issues. The over saturation of comedy podcasts has really wore me out on the scene as a whole but I love Tim, and its a no brainer to come back to these episodes where he's more candid about his actual perspective on things without putting it through a satirical filter. Dude has kept one of the most realistic views on the culture consistently and he's one of the few guys that i'm still glad got the Rogan bump.
I love this duo. Lex with his views butting up against Tim's creates such an interesting dichotomy. They truly seem to have different views of reality, but in exploring the other's views they manage to help other people find their own. It is heartfelt enlightenment. Thank you for doing these!

By that I mean, I live in the UK and so I've never heard of Bucky's but Tim can go from Elon Musk to Bucky's in only a handfull of words and instantly I know what Bucky's is like AND the people who eat those potato chips. its Buc Cee's and its amazing but its really only a texas thing. The rest of the country doesnt have it except for a few other southern states in the same region. I was stationed in texas for 2 years and i miss it. Imagine a gas(petrol) station/conviencence store but one the size of a Tesco(i know u prob dont have walmart in the UK lol). Their like 50 pumps for petrol and the bathrooms have like 50 urinals its wild. Its literally the most american institution ive ever seen and ive lived here my whole life lol.

Tim Dillon is actually intelligent as hell. I think it gets overshadowed by his sly comedic interjections. But he explains social phenomena very well, in ways I hadn't thought of and make perfect sense.

I’ve loved Tim’s comedy and style for a little minute now but until I listened to Lex interview him a week or two ago from the first time he had him on I didn’t realize how incredibly intelligent he is. He will go down as one of the greatest and I hope he gets the notoriety and fame that he seeks...that was incredible to hear how absurdly quick witted and not tiring he was to listen to.
You hit the nail on the head with the only issue I have with Lex. He hasn't had to deal with actual stupid people for his whole adult life, and instead is only exposed to intelligent and kind people. That's 90% a good thing, but everyone needs at least a little exposure to stupid people to understand why the world is where it is. Lex often expresses (often meaning every single episode of his podcast) his bewilderment of evil and terrible things people do, whereas every Tim podcast episode is like "Well no sh** everything's terrible. Most people out here are F***ED UP".

The over saturation of comedy podcasts has really wore me out on the scene as a whole but I love Tim, and its a no brainer to come back to these episodes where he's more candid about his actual perspective on things without putting it through a satirical filter. Dude has kept one of the most realistic views on the culture consistently and he's one of the few guys that i'm still glad got the Rogan bump.

I was stationed in texas for 2 years and i miss it. Imagine a gas(petrol) station/conviencence store but one the size of a Tesco(i know u prob dont have walmart in the UK lol). Their like 50 pumps for petrol and the bathrooms have like 50 urinals its wild. Its literally the most american institution ive ever seen and ive lived here my whole life lol.

The percentage of people who succeed at that is so low compared the amount of people in this country. You know what made me realize that I could be happy? Stop pretending that I needed to be something incredible to be happy! I work at decent job, yeah it's demanding on me physically, but it pays my bills. I live a minimal lifestyle because buying shit never filled the void. I am happy when I enjoy a cup of coffee and a nice breakfast I've made on my day off.
