There is actually one episode that tells us that Homer doesnt care if she remarries someone telling us that he cares for her feelings and doesnt know that she gets hurt
Maybe Marge should have divorced Homer and married Ned Flanders as he's an opposite to Homer who is friendly, kind, caring, always helping around the house, help the kids with their homework and get involve some family activity. Why does Marge put up with everything Homer does when she's met mutiple guys that would treat her better in the show? Idk, just my theory
This series originally aired in the 80’s and 90’s wherein back then one family member earned income for the family and the other took care of household and children duties. Homer made the money so he rarely did domestic duties. Much like if marge had to suddenly support the family she has no workplace experience to make the same income as a nuclear factory worker and would struggle finding stable work. Its a dated age old stereotype that men are just inherently incompetent at childcare when in reality they’re not ALL bad at childcare.
The last episode of the Simpsons should be a glimpse of the future with them Divorced, Bart is in a band , Lissa is the Mayor or president, Maggie a C .E.O of her own company, Marge and Homer still come together for family events.
marge does deserve better, but yeah in real life she differently should. but is kinda cute sometimes how much he misses her and try to make it up to her, and he is the type of person that does need her in his life, homer can be pretty selfish and use marge and screw things up most of the time, but also times hes a good person and father. he does make a funny character for the show tho.
