I have recently purchased this watch, and Dmitry Buyalov, himself, was the return sender. He is the lead designer of Vostok, and has an independent line of watches on Meranom. Some of his watches are rather tasteful, in my opinion.

Beautiful watch and nice review. I was struck my the builld quality and silky hand wind in these watches that retail for so little. Love my Amfibia Reef even though it sits tall on my wrist like a little vatrushka!

I was looking an other YT Video and the host bought a scuba dude and I was going over my Vostoks, from Vintage to new and found no scuba dude one. So I ordered one on eBay from an russian watch seller. It is on it's way and I wait for it like a child for Christmas.
@@waldi2302 I'm a Vostok fan and I neither have nor want a Scuba Dude swimming all over my wrist The diver image is gender neutral and the USSR's naval dive teams were likely to have included many women, so referring to the Vostok diver as a "dude" is not only misogynist, it's also historically inaccurate. Fans of Soviet horology also include women. Welcome to the 21st century.

Thanks, I bet the dial looks great on that in the flesh. I was close to going for that one too, its so much better when they move away from the arrow handsets.
I loved my Vostok. But at the end of the month, using that set day hack, when you need to scroll through so many days, the date function actually broke. So I kind of don't trust that movement anymore. Ended up selling it once they fixed it. I'd consider a no date option, but tbh, I find no date watches a bit useless, as I end up checking my phone instead. Otherwise I love some of their designs for the price.
Vostoks are awesome, really fun watches! They have thier drawbacks, but you know exactly what you get with them.

The Bezel is locked under pressure by the crystal. It is not useless.
