You can do that in Sims 3 Pets on PS3. If my memories are right (bc I broke the game AND the console oops) Pets can be transformed into humans and vice versa through karma powers.
Sims 1 language was actually really cute. I didn't notice until now how clear the simlish actually is in that game. It kinda relates to real life people.
So we've learned that Sims 1 is superior in magic, which many already knew, and has a nuance to it that none of the following generations could ever match.
But there was a huge disadvantage in Sims 1, someone from the magic realm came with the creepy piano music, when you teleported alot, because teleporting decreased your needs and that was seen as causing damage.
explains why i have such many nostalgia feelings about the sims 1 magic pack and how it was my favorite and made me look forward to the supernatural packs (didn't have sims2 apartments tho, who puts witches in apartments, how are they related EA..), thought it was just my easily impressed child self spending hours with dragons and spells haha
I genuinely had no idea how incredible the magic was in Sims 1, simply because it was difficult for my 11 y/o self to keep them alive long enough to gather the ingredients. LOL. That said, I’ll now be downloading the entire set all over again. This is amazing!
Unfortunately, I have not! Though on the hunt for a solution, UA-cam has a few solutions but none have worked thus far. For now, I’ve scrounged up one of my old, bulky laptops that still has a disc drive built in. If I find a way, I’ll post it here! Hopefully once this craziness is over with, you can get to your discs though. 😫 Gotta relive some good ol’ sims memories.
I love this story of a mean witch tormenting the bald dude and the good witch trying to undo it all. Wasn't expecting the twist at the end where they make out XD
Yeah, I wish they could've tossed in just a few spells in any of the sequels. I understand it's more work with animations and such but even just two spells for kids and one spell for toddlers would be cool! :)
In each new Sims version, the kids have more abilities removed from them. I reckon by the time S5 comes along, all they'll be able to do is fish and watch TV! For S3, the 'Children Can' mod fixed a lot of that and it works great, it's an amazing mod. If what equates to a bedroom programmer could do a job like that, there's no reason the programmers at EA couldn't - it's just laziness. @J. Stanley: Yeah, they released S3 with the fairy kids enabled to do some magic, so I don't know why they couldn't have given witch kids a few spells to use.
Sims 1 spells are so hilarious and looks very fun to play with! Spells in Sims 1 were also the most creatively made out of all 4 games. Although Sims 2 still takes the cake for me simply because it has stop time 😁
Dueling in sims 1 was my favorite! I remember writing all the winning combos on a notepad so I could get enough of those magic tokens to move to the magic world! It was my favorite expansion pack for sims 1
I don't remember much from that but I remember absolutely loving it. Was it makin magic where you could make and sell butter??? I loved hanging around magic town
@@Tiger89Lilly Omg yes! The butter churner! I totally forgot about that haha. I'm pretty sure you're right (that it came with Makin' Magic) because you could use butter in your potions and spells lol
Sims 1 had not only better magic, but it was also the one where learning the spells and charms was the most fun. I mean, all ingredients where easily available, as in, you didn't have to have your sim doing one action for hours (in sims 2 you could also become friends with both witches to buy all ingredients, but you still had to use the cauldron to learn spells and it was awfully tedious), or pray for the RNG to bless you with a specific rock to spawn in the neighborhood or being for sale in one of the shops. I still remember having to find each ingredient in different shops, and having to go in a scavenger hunt asking the vendors or challenging them, earning magic money by doing tricks or dueling... Oh boy, it was so much fun I also loved doing magic work to buy the biggest house in Magic Town. It was kind of like going with your sim to work, hehe Oh! And making your sims' dragons eat toadified sims was pretty funny too 😂 I don't know, I'm rigged because I have the fondest memories from that expansion pack alone than I have from most of the other sims games
Sims 1 nailed. Sims 2 good/neutral/evil was leggit And just random flying around the forest on the Sims 3 was gorgeous Poor usseles Sims 4 they got nothing, Even the "familiar " it's just an upgrathed holopet from "into the future"
It's actually kind of embarrassing for Sims 4 to be on this list🤦♀️ You can see the lack of effort, and anything remotely interesting came from a previous generation of the Sims. I really wish I could see what goes on behind the scenes when they are creating packs, because something is clearly going wrong.
I totally agree. I liked the holopet better because, as someone else in this response section has said, at least you could interact with them. And also if another sim had an holopet you could make them interact and it was funny. Besides, thr lack of creativity even in the names reaaaally annoys me. Like, ee have sims 2 with cool latin names and them we have sims 4 with normal-english-sounding words
I want a drunk gnome in Sims 4 😭 Edit: idk why we cant just get all the things. You’d think the game itself would improve over time & add *more* but no, it just looks prettier :/

I dont even have any kind of Sims....but what if they make Sims 5 with the gameplay from Sims 1, 2 and 3, and Sims 4 with the beautiful looking... do you guys want it... like DESPERATELY??

the sims 4 spells are literally just cheat spells and almost everything can be accessed with the testingcheats.. while in sims 1 you could basically spend lots of time in makin' magic and still have fun with it.
Lmao back when I had the Sims 3 I casted the pestilence curse on one of my sim's enemies and I accidentally infected the whole town with the plague T-T
I think with the first Sims, I'll always love going to Magic Town to find objects and collecting dragons. They were so adorable and every one did something different. I wish the other games just upgraded the graphics for these ideas.
Sims 3 has some useful spells, like the upgrading one, which makes upgrading objects a lot faster, but in Sims 2 spells are just so useful, that when I become a witch, then change to other household without witches, I just miss being able to cast a spell whenever I need it, it's so convenient. I didn't play 1 and 4, but enchanting the gnomes to do gardening work in Sims 1 looks so cool.
After an intruder tried to steal stuff on my property again in Sims 3, i set the building, that gives you the criminal carreer on fire for a long time and left. Then i kept watching the fire burn.
I wish they made a complete edition of sims 1 available on Origin, I lost half of the expansions and either way it's really bothersome to install all those CD's seperately.
I think they're not paying much attention to magic lately, in The Sims magic got it's own expansion, in Sims 2 they were (like many occults in Sims 2) an extra lifestate for an expansion pack, in Sims 3 they had other occults in one pack so magic wasn't the focus and in Sims 4 they came in a game pack.
It's pretty sad because that turns out to be the case for most of these videos. There's a reason longtime players complain about the Sims 4 so much. The dev team for this generation....well....they suck to be honest. And they're so obsessed with making the game trendy there isn't much originality and fun anymore.🤦♀️
I really love magical gnomes in Sims 1 and 3! I would love to have them in Sims 5 where you could collect different types of them with different color variations that teleports and comes to life at random times! It would be a comeback just like the cowplant in Sims 4 base game rather than references.
I love this example of a bisexual sim: 20:45 *Casts spell so the guy gets with the woman* Caster: Yas live happily ever after *Guy kisses caster* Caster: oh this aint that bad either
Oh Sims 1, this is a portion of that beauty. The best thing is when you get to duel someone in the arena. The visual and the sound effects...it's just so epic. Shame they didn't do the same for 2,3 and 4 :(

Yay, you did talk about spells across the series! :D Though yeah, I don't blame you for just doing a list and not a real comparison -- that was a LOT to get through! But it was nice to take the nostalgia trip back to the previous entries. Sims 1 had some awesome magic, and I kind of miss the wand charger and charm maker -- plus their version of the spellbook in both classic and electronic versions. Good stuff! All entries had some cool spells, though. Kind of wish the time stop spell from Sims 2 would come back! And toadification from Sims 1. And -- er, actually, considering what PESTS gnomes are during the "Holiday Gnomes" tradition, maybe it's best they stay largely inanimate. XD Go-Go Flamingos would be fun again, though.
Watching a series of these videos, not only did these made me want to play the first 3 games But aswell buy all of their expansion packs all at once Truly entertaining i have to say
I loved The Sims 1 variety of spells! It's really nice to bring objects to life! But loved even more that in The sims 2 the spells opposite each other depending on the good or evil thing s2
I can count the number of times in sims 1 I came into my back yard and enchanted gnomes only for them to be set on fire or found the gnomes I enchanted not doing their work but perpetually drunk. Nothing ever got done. dragons setting everything on fire, man I miss that shit
See, this is why I would LOVE to have been able to play Sims 1. The detail in that game is incredible, Makin' Magic in particular, and I feel like a lot of people write it off simply because it's over 20 years old now. The second it said the gnomes got "distracted" by the nectar I was like, "Oh dear it's gonna get drunk isn't it?" under my breath and burst out laughing when he dove in and started slurring his words lol, like the original Sims humor was so fantastic and wasn't afraid to go wild (Sims 2 cutscenes and goose interaction anyone?) Also I forgot about the Sims 3 Frog head spell and MY GOSH is that atrociously hilarious lol
Sims making magic was my favourite expansion pack of all time. I love the creepy circus vibe it gave out. After this video, I think I am going to reinstall it and play it :D
Sims 1 for sure! The only one that kept me captivative for a really long time. And the world where you got all the ingredients is the best one so far in all sims-games in my opinion
25:37 I once had a Sim have that curse. It was HORRIFYING. She could never go to sleep, because she was too scared and wold always pass out. That is what I like. Pure terror, but really cool.
We should all make a petition to the sims team to ask to bring back EVERYTHING in sims 1 and 3, its so creative and so FULL of personality and life. Plus who doesn't want a magical gnome doing the gardening it's CUTE😂 ❤
to be honest i liked all of then on this all of then have nice things...... a perfect one would just need to have it all really cause its just missing each other game features '-'... sims 1 had the best magic world for me tho but about the spells stuff all of then are good.
I explained that in the witches comparison, it would've been repetitive to mention it here cause it was the following video, not to mention, it's already pretty long lol
Ok but to be fair, they look interesting in all games. Yes TS1 may executed the core element the best, but as a TS3 player I actually like seeing all of those neat little spells and animations and stuff in all of those games. Maybe because I am such a fan for supernatural and magic stuff. Always make the most interesting content for me. :D
Sims 1 magic was kind of inspired by the huge Harry Potter hype in that year. Even with the fines for casting spells in front of non-magic sims and all that.
In Sims 2 it was kind of annoying to have witches and wizards appear on community lots, especially when you were running a shop. An evil witch casting a thunderstorm and cockroaches in front of your shop could drive your customers away.
13:44 That’s convenient 😂 I think the spells from sims 1 were the best in my opinion. Also I always loved the witches from the sims 2 cuz they were very creative too. In Sims 3 they are good but a bit boring. 🤔 In the sims 4 they are more interesting!
I remember in TS1 I threw a massive house party as you could back then by constantly using the phone to invite random people. It was a massive party with maybe 30-50 Sims there and I think we used the firework which landed on another Sim who caught fire so I used a spell to put it out which saved their life but I got fined for showing my magic. I miss that sort of gameplay and storytelling.
I dunno about that, they take like 1 hour for them to go downstairs and cook. But I do love how Sims in Sims 1 bop their body when they're on the phone

Get all The Sims games here :) games4theworld.org/downloads/
I once made a clone in sims 4 and it stayed and lived a long happy life with 5 kids
Watching a series of these videos, not only did these made me want to play the first 3 games
But aswell buy all of their expansion packs all at once
Truly entertaining i have to say
Also, in the sims 1 you could have a pet dragon, and if you transform someone into a toad, the dragon would eat them
I'm thinking of making a dragon comparison just because it was fun having dragons all around the lot
funny how every spell from realm of magic are just recycled gameplay animations we already received in other packs/basegame.
1:37 fuck that's so cool. They should've brought it into another installment. I guess there's always sims 5 one day...
the sound effects in Sims 1 were sooo good!
Yep I’m getting my sims 2 back
I love how rauchy the sims 1 was. Miss that
I loved The Sims 1 variety of spells! It's really nice to bring objects to life! But loved even more that in The sims 2 the spells opposite each other depending on the good or evil thing s2
2:49
I have never heard something say “uwu” so aggressively…
Wow, a lot of the spells in Sims 1 were actually pretty cool. There were less than other games but they had a lot of thought behind them.
The second it said the gnomes got "distracted" by the nectar I was like, "Oh dear it's gonna get drunk isn't it?" under my breath and burst out laughing when he dove in and started slurring his words lol, like the original Sims humor was so fantastic and wasn't afraid to go wild (Sims 2 cutscenes and goose interaction anyone?)
Also I forgot about the Sims 3 Frog head spell and MY GOSH is that atrociously hilarious lol
That Enemy to Lovers/Fake Rivalry between the good warlock and the bad witch where they have to freeze time to make out in peace, though
Sims 1 was so truly ahead of its time.
Dang we really got short changed with the sims 4 magic spells omg!!! Imaginary friends?? what the heck!!
As usual..
25:37 I once had a Sim have that curse. It was HORRIFYING. She could never go to sleep, because she was too scared and wold always pass out. That is what I like. Pure terror, but really cool.
I love the noises they make in the sims and their freak outs when the magic fails XD
We should all make a petition to the sims team to ask to bring back EVERYTHING in sims 1 and 3, its so creative and so FULL of personality and life. Plus who doesn't want a magical gnome doing the gardening it's CUTE😂 ❤
I WANT THE PINK FLAMINGO GIRL BACK SO BADLY she was so cute and i loved her voice, and the steps ugh...i want her back. ;-;;
When you’re sloppy and try to summon a cleaning ghost but instead it summons a catgirl that breaks anything within her reach:
to be honest i liked all of then on this all of then have nice things...... a perfect one would just need to have it all really cause its just missing each other game features '-'... sims 1 had the best magic world for me tho but about the spells stuff all of then are good.
The Sims 4 spellcasters feel like Sims using cheats "legally" with an additional animation incorporated every time they use a cheat .
Yeah, I wish there were more wacky spells, the curses have the coolest concepts.
You forgot to mention how in sims 2 witches have a bowl thing to do magic, create objects and elixirs, and also their own realms of evil and good.
I explained that in the witches comparison, it would've been repetitive to mention it here cause it was the following video, not to mention, it's already pretty long lol
Goddamn Sims 1 and 2 spells are amazing!
We need a Sims game with:
Sims 1 magic
Sims 2 textures
Sims 3 gameplay
And Sims 4 models
I usually see The Sims 2 game-play, but okay...
The Sims Makin Magic is the best game in the whole universe. I spent many many nights playing and miss Magic Town and its wonderful music so much.
In the spell that appears several frogs, there is the option "kiss", if you kiss the right frog, he becomes a prince.
as someone who plays sims2 alot I love the spells in the game, so fun. Thanks for taking the time to showcase all these spells
introducing new red plumbob character "Hapless Victim!"
the use of the "as the sim turns" sims really brings nostalgia to this OG sims player
13:44 That’s convenient 😂
I think the spells from sims 1 were the best in my opinion. Also I always loved the witches from the sims 2 cuz they were very creative too.
In Sims 3 they are good but a bit boring. 🤔
In the sims 4 they are more interesting!
thanks for the Epic Seven ad
The sims 1 making magic had everything like honestly it has all spells straight to the point
I miss that sort of gameplay and storytelling.
the way Sims move around in the sims 1 looks so much more realistic than the sims 4 in addition to being a lot more diverse
I dunno about that, they take like 1 hour for them to go downstairs and cook. But I do love how Sims in Sims 1 bop their body when they're on the phone
