Hello -I am planning a Ford Transit Trail high roof extended length build. My van is on order with Ford -no build date yet. I am a subscriber and am trying to figure out how I can maximize my solar roof design to get as much capacity as I can using the Rich Solar panels -possibly the 200w, 100w, 55w or 35w combinations. I see Unaka has a Ford Transit Roof Rack - HSLD - 148EXT High Roof rack. I want to install a RTX-2000 and have the option to have Ford install the Maxx Air fan (I am trying to find out where exactly Ford installs it if you order this option). I cannot find any dimensional diagrams that show the interior roof support rib/truss dimensions that would dictate where I could cut my openings for the RTX-2000 and possibly the Maxx air fan if I do the fan install. According to the Unaka site I should have 154 5/8" x 58.99" usable rack mounting space. It looks like you are using a Unaka rack and have mounted the RTX-2000. With the extended length van I should have a little more roof space -assuming your van is not the extended version. I am also planning on installing the RTX-2000 in the last section between the roof truss supports near the back of the van (sleeping area). I want to install the Maxx air in front of the RTX-2000 in the next section between trusses leaving the sides and the rest of the front area for solar. Have you found any dimensional diagrams for the roof? Any tips or dimensional sketches would be great. I am trying to get my design down so I can get my product list together and plan the build as soon as it arrives. Thank you

Our van is not the extended so I’m unsure of the dimensions between the last roof trusses and whether the RTX2000 would fit there. I know Unaka makes a roof rack that fits more solar panels than we did. Explorist Van Life has a video showing this being installed. We bought our solar panels after we bought the van and once we knew the correct dimensions. A lot of the other items we bought prior to getting our van. Good luck hope you don’t have to wait has long as we did. 👍🏼😃

Rich Solar is holding my families money hostage. They sent a defective battery and lied about sending free shipping labels to send it back. I've spent 40 bucks to send some.of the junk back to Amazon. This was out of pocket. It's almost like they are trying to wait out the return date so they can claim they can't accept it. They know that they did this to a disabled veteran and show no empathy as a company or human to.make it right. Please don't support these clowns!
