I was actually surprised how well it drew! For an old tablet that was made back in 2005, almost 17 years ago, that was pretty awesome. I love your videos, keep up the good work!
A lot of stuff was made pretty well back then and generally was of a higher build quality compared to a lot of the modern stuff that is sold with a two year life span. When collecting just be very choosy to avoid the bulk of the consumer junk from brands like HP because they were some of the worst back then.
Something I noticed about the Crossword app is that there's references to TikTok as one of the clues for 12 across. That must mean that the date is definitely messed up and the crossword you downloaded is recent. Insane!
I had changed the system date to the date of recording by that point so the puzzle that the program downloaded was a recent one, which explains why there's references to modern stuff.
I remember buying 2 Toshiba XP tablet PCs very late in their lives, maybe 2012, for my young kids to use and they LOVED THEM. They were powerful enough for playing simple games and watching videos and the kids liked to draw and color so they were perfect for them. I think I paid like $90 apiece for them.
Worked in Staples for a while some years ago. Remember having these things in stock. Mostly HP I think. Bloody thick and sturdily built from what I remember.
Nice, a content for Old Windows Tablet. Never heard of this pack and I wish I know this before, seems that programs included are very fun to use especially as a child
I remember buying a pair of those on a film shoot, along with arm strap accessories. Think they were $4K each. It was for 2 coordinators. We joked about giving them both to the same guy, so he could have one on each arm and look like an oversized dual monitor stand.
Wow I haven't seen the tablet in years, I'm glad to see that it's still in action! And I'd love to see you make a video on how to make Windows 7 look more like Vista, I've always preferred the visuals of Vista but I want the security/reliability of 7 :D
At 11:29 you can see that one of the hints is "scrolling tiktok to some" so it looks like these crosswords are up to date with the times too and not recycled old ones. Crazy how they've been keeping this up for so long after XPs end of life.
It seems to me theyre using a crossword site that has been up for decades. The site just never changed servers or their updated servers work with their old site/IP/something like that. So this old XP era tablet can still connect via the internet to that particular crossword site.
Super interesting to see how Windows XP behaves with pen input (in terms of its UX). Thank you for the showcase! PS: 13:47 the word you were looking for is "stroke" Edit: misplaced parentheses
Ink Art! I recognize that one, that's ArtRage!! (I can kinda tell by the logo that popped up) I had a copy of that that came with my wacom bamboo splash tablet back in 2013! Didn't know it was a thing on these old tablets.

I have a Gateway M275 that I love. I always thought that was the correct direction for a tablet in software and usability. Unfortunately, that was the last large format tablet pc.

It is interesting to see how Microsoft since XP tried to bet on touchscreen equipment, and now it has one of the best lines of tablets/laptops. I also found that Microsoft developed a specific interface for UMPCs with the Microsoft Touch Pack for Windows XP Tablet PC Edition (Origami Project Launcher), although I haven't found any videos showing the interface in action.
It is amazing that the crossword still works with updated puzzles. You would have thought that it would have stopped getting new puzzles at some point in the last 17 years but it still works.
This is my first time seeing a tablet like this and i em just amazed by how the mouse follows the pen when it gets closer the screen, it's something small but very interesting for me, great video by tha way.
I have to admit, something about the era when "tablet PCs" were a thing still makes me a bit nostalgic. There's just something about having Windows XP shoved into that form factor. (same with UMPCs, honestly...)
@@lolcat I know Surfaces can be used with a pen, but it’s not mandatory. For me, that’s part of what makes the “Tablet PC” era unique. Weird form factors, pen-only interface, barely-adapted Windows desktop.

Nice to finally see all those things working, for some reason whenever I install them on my TC-1100 most of them start crapping themselves with .NET errors, only the paint program works.
Nah they just marketed it to the mainstream. XP Tablets were always prohibitively expensive for consumers, they had a lot more success in enterprise environments, specifically healthcare.
Not going to lie, as a digital artist that painting program you show off first looks so tortured to me. Proper drawing tablets have little to no delay, you need them to be snappy.
