no issues on assembly besides bad zip ties on the torroids inside the matching network box. haven't tuned or analyzed it. broke my hand recently and have some powerline noise. despite my 20db+s9 noise i heard the caribean on 20m psk31 without tuning the antenna hear in west texas. should rock once i iron everything out.
How did you mount your vertical. Mfr recommends no lower that 8' above ground. Putting mine on a 14' - 2" OD pipe to get antenna above roof line. Not sure how to anchor it once it's up.
Mine is on some 1.25-1.5" (i think) emt conduit (thicker wall than regular water pipe i think) sunk about a foot into the ground using some water to help sink the pipe down a little at a time with it's own weight. then attached to my fascia with a couple of brackets for TV antenna masts. The pipe is really just a hair too large for the brackets but I could stretch them to make them work. it's up maybe 10 foot If I had to guess. the ground aerials clear the roof fine even though it's not at the ridge line since the roof is real low pitched. survived a recent storm with 70mph winds with no guys since it's at the edge of the property line. still have yet to go through the tuning procedure. Broke my hand shortly after putting it up and haven't gotten back to it. it's better if you have two people to put it up and down. very heavy and long, giving the weight lots of leverage. I did it alone, but won't do that again.
Did you have any issues putting it together? I was one of the early adopters and had a few issues, missing parts, the antenna resonating way off below the HF bands to mention a couple. The antenna has been in operation for about 5 months now, but have no other antenna to compare performance. Check my channel for other AV-680 videos.
