Good stuff thanks alot!!!
Why Bolivia though ? How is the government? How is the healthcare ? Nearby hospitals? Schools? How is the weather there ?
Too many questions to answer here. If you are seriously considering Bolivia we help on a consultation basis
Love your videos Simon. I moved to country Queensland 2 years ago. Im still finding my feet. I grow oyster mushrooms that i sell and trade, ive got a decent sized garden that is still developing. I love the idea of trading food instead of money, but i still need some income (as we all do) ive started using em1 from your videos too!
We had a friend give us pink oyster spawn yesterday. This starts our journey into that kingdom. Happy to hear any recommendations you have
@@Kaiwaipermaculturebolivia inoculate straw with 100g per kilo if hydrated substrate. You can use almost any agricultural waste. You can prepare the substrate by soaking in 60-80c water for two hours to kill off potential nasties . Allow substrate to cool to room temp and then inoculate with spawn as per above ratio. I pack into clean/sanitised buckets or custom mushroom bags
@@Matty_76 This is Jessica here now. Hi! 👋 My friend who gave us the spawn said to soak like you said cardboard in bucket of hot water over night then to lay down and layer like you said with stuff like sawdust and dry mulch. She recommended bathing the mulch in watered down lemon juice. Do you recommend the lemon added?
@@Kaiwaipermaculturebolivia I’ve never heard of the lemon juice thing. Ive been a gourmet mushroom farmer for 5 years now. Cardboard works, but it’s slow to fruit and don’t yield heaps. If you can get dry corn stalks or sugarcane, or any kind of straw you will have better results. Sawdust is good too but is not very nutritious. Usually supplementation is added in the form of wheat/oat/ rice bran. But bran needs to pasteurised too. And added to a ratio of %10 of the dry weight of the sawdust. Otherwise any higher percentage and you can run into contamination. I really want to help you both. But i feel youtube is a bit slow and not concise enough.
@@Matty_76 great advice (Simon again lol) we would be happy to catch up on a call if you'd like to make time to connect
I have some land I have started my journey... But which direction to take... I have no clue if I'm honest :-)
