I believe that is a manual RPM gauge. You would hold it against something like a lawnmower and it could tell you approximate RPMs after dialing it in.
Edit: Might be called a vibration reed tachometer.

I have the metric and sae stud removal sets that you showed. Usually there is enough stud sticking out to release the tool by turning it the opposite direction. They will destroy the threads if a lot of force is needed to turn it. If you can get it to the bare spot on the stud it's go to go. I've had these sets for over 20 years and have never had to take one apart. I've always thought about taking them apart to see how they actually work. Now that you did I won't have to. Looking forward to your next video.

Lol, that's a great point, if the tool works then the rest of the stud would be there to grab on to, duh! 😆

Someday you'll have to let me know if you're just really good at looking these tools up or you actually knew them..LOL. I don't want to know yet though, maybe when I end the series! Nice work either way.

@twosawacres8096 I did a search and of course it has been discontinued. I found one on ebay but it looks to be in rough shape inside. Let's see if lady luck is on my side. LOL If not maybe I can find one in better shape to buy. I like it because it looks like it would get into tight places similar to the extractor/installer sockets that have 3 round prices that roll against a triangle inner socket. I have one size of that style that I used a lot at my one job. It was way faster than double nutting the studs. I definitely enjoy these type videos. I have tried to locate the artical I found on the multi purpose wrench/hammer, where it told how it is used to remove the underground tank fill lids on gasoline tanks at gas stations. I need to learn how to save pages when looking stuff up on my phone.
