Anybody remember Rainbow magazine? I still to this day remember small things I've read in there, like the person describing how to set your fingers up on the keyboard to type "A L", or the "Allied Assault" letter. I'm sure whoever wrote that never imagined their words would still be remembered by someone today. As far as I know, the programmers of the game have confirmed that the Wizard's Image does indeed drop a Seer Scroll. For all the good it'll do!
Before Doom... there was Dungeons of Daggorath. That damn heartbeat sound and the sound of the monsters getting closer and closer and your heartbeat getting faster as you run- it still makes me tense to this day!
I still play this game after 25 years. I'll put down the PS 3 controller and hook up the old radio shack "TV to Computer" adapter to an old TV, adjust the slide to get a clear picture, and start playing the original 'First Person' game. Too bad I don't have my tape drive anymore... LOL
I remember my friend back in 1986 bragging he beat the wizard! I replied: You got the final ring? He said...How is it you knew the incantation?? I replied: I didn't, you just told me! I literally meant what I just said..."you were able to get the final ring in the game???". Anyway - I'll go plug that in as incant final; Thanks for the solution tip! - That my friends is how I defeated the wizard & won the game back in '86.
I have this game still from when I was a kid. Typed A L!!! so much I wore the keyboard out. The third and fourth floor are the hardest. The fift(Last)floor is easyer, Find a spider, try to get your back against a wall of a long corradoor with good visability(the hole in the upper left is a good place), and let him bite away at you. He can't hurt you and nothing else can attack you while the spider is trying to!!!
The fourth level is where the wraths and galdarogs are. You get sent there imediatly after killing the wizards image, With what ever you're holding in you hand!!!
Cont'-- sitting there in one place on the last floor with the spider, you will notice a long line start to form.(looks neat on the map)pick them off one at a time. The real wizard is much stronger than the image, but he can be beat! try to leave him till last if possible.(you'll be stronger!) Good luck!!!
Hell yeah! I've waiting 20+ years to see the Wizard's Image get PWN3D!! Please post more, I've never seen seen or heard the Wraiths and Galdrogs! Thanks for the vids!
If you climb back up to the first level from the second level, you end up fighting Galdrogs and Wraiths on the first floor. They pwn you you easily tho. But i suppose you could go fight them all after taking care of level 3, before you fight the fake wizard. I would imagine you would earn ALOT of exp/power from doing that.
@@dominichester sometimes it takes awhile for anything strong to show up. Every time you climb back up, walk around somewhat near the ladder you came up on. If you hear nothing, climb down, then back up. Repeat. Like I said, it might take awhile for anything good to show up. Yes, it can be annoying, but worth it for when you go to level 4. You'll be strong, very strong.
The sounds made this game. So awesome. Loved this game as a kid!
these sound effects still give me the creeps 30 years later!
Ready Player One brought me here! The game seems bad ass!
I'm a big fan of Ready Player One and Dungeons of Daggorath.
@@dominichester very cool!
What a bloody terrifying game!! The sounds still give me the creeps!

A R was faster for me
This is the greatest game of all time ... THANK YOU !!!

wow what memories, I remember playing this after school at the "babysitters house" was epic! This was my first video game

One of the best games ever written. I have this on emulator since I no longer have my TRS80-2.

All I remember was the white levels were a pain and I couldn't get any further.
Saving as you helps tremendously!!!

For 1982, this is actually pretty good. The wire frame games seemed to have more going on than the rest.
+The Gmork Yup. Sometimes good games don't need great graphics. I've seen too many that were messed up by them.

I couldn't remember if the wizard would pick up the items - if so that's a great way to get screwed.
Nope. The wizard doesn't pick up anything.
I remember having problems myself. I believe that you have to use the short commands (ZS, ZL), or use spaces instead of quotes for the file name)

How did you do that I climbed up and down at least 10 times and no Galdrogs

most of the time the result of going back is not a good one!
