    Cleaning/rebuilding my S54 oil pump now.. your video is one of the best quality for this step of the rebuild process. Your content is extremely good, meticulous attention to detail that most overlook. I hope the S54 community catches up with your channel one day soon; it deserves FAR more likes and views :) I'm subscribed and very excited to see what further you have to post on this rebuild!

      @@Runliquid I'm curious, did you by chance replace the oil pump piston o-ring? I just finally got a replacement O-ring in from Burkhart Engineering, but it looks like Buna rubber, where the original o-ring looks to be Viton (it's brown, where the new replacement o-ring from BE is pretty much black). Curious to know what you ended up doing, my motor has approx 120k miles when I tore it down for a rebuild. Thank you sir :)

    My oil pump oil spring broke on my s54 where can i buy a new one?

    Not sure whether that wire gives more or less trust. Those last two cm's do not seem really secure. At 11:44 it only seems to be fixed by hammering it into place and sticking 1 or 2mm back into the nut's hole. With centrifugal forces wouldn't that slacken, with wire more and more vibrating and flinging around eventually risking coming loose ? Am no specialist but that risk seems bigger than the risk of a locktite 25nm secured nut coming loose ?

    Did the piston just moved out when removing the C clip? Mine sticks in the tube while the C clips was removed.

    Great video, battling low oil pressure right now. I just put a used S54 pump in my S52, hot oil pressure are about 10-15 psi short across the rpm range when hot. One thing I noticed it that the large long pickup tube is not very snug. Yours also seems to go in with one finger. I thought that might be my problem. How snug does the large pickup tube fit into the pump?

      ok, the pressure should be at 4.5bar ~ 65psi. the piston of the pump shouldn't have to much play. It sounds like your piston isn't covering the (oil escape). check if your piston is realy completely in the pump, there is an little edge to overcome. Next thing i don't know is the Gear ratio from s52 - s54 is there any difference ? because you say its all over the rpm range and the pump is ok but just kranking to slow. hope it helps you bit, good luck
