- NO FILTER Nano REEF TANK | Macroalgae Planted Reef With Manado Dark
We take a look at my QubiQ 30 aquarium nano reef tank. I have done a few things in this saltwater aquarium which are VERY different to the normal way of making a saltwater tank. Including using Manado Dark Substrate (amzn.to/43llsng)

Another great video. I appreciate how you break down what you've tried and how it has worked out. Very informative!
Thank you 👍
very awesome video amazing very interesting i love it
An interesting take on nano tank concept ,I look forward to see how this project progresses.
Thanks
Very good tips , great job as always 👍.
Thanks very much
always to the end bro!
Mate thank you 👍
well you did it , im a planted tropical fresh water man and now watching your videos i have started a macro algae tank, its 120x30x30cm shallow tank with that carib sea live rock and live sand, now i want to have some fish and shrimp in there, should i put a canister filter on as well and any idea how long to cycle this sort of setup, im totally new to marine, thanks for any help
A little canister will do wonders. Cycle for a couple of months adding stuff slowly
@@EverydayAquarist ok cool the canister with just mechanical filtration or biological as well ?
Dim the light by blocking rows of leds with some tape until you get the brightness you want.
Nice idea
i am also changing from no Waterchange and Icp testing and redosing to daily automated waterchanges.
It is just easier and no pain in the bfjskl without so much testing and redosing certain trace elements. and probably even cheaper.
As always, great video, love to see videos from you mate
Thanks, yeah big waterchanges ftw
awesome video
Thanks friend
Yeah man, gotta think out of the box what we're doing with the stuff in the box.
Hopefully this video will get people thinking. 👍
Thank you. Gotta try new things
Interesting 🤨
Hi, may I know what's the brand and model of the internal overflow filter shown in this video? I wish to get rid of the dirt on water surface like you do too. Thanks.
Did the 6500K light working good to growth red macro suchs as a botrycladia, gracilaria, etc
Lovely little tank. I just received some calerpa algae. Loves flow but how can i weigh it down without bury it in sand. Can it be superglued to a rock? Or small plug. Flying everywhere in my tank😞.
Slow your flow down. Can't be superglued
But great videos as a normal
I love the look of the darker substrate, but isn't it attracted to a magnet glass scraper, and might it scratch the glass if it got on the scraper?
No it's not magnetic as far as I can tell
Wow 😮 passed 30 i'm in Ohio and believe it or not. It'll hit 80 here. Wow 😮
So the corals and fish seem to fare ok at 16 celsius and with fluctuating ambient temperatures in general?
🤘😁🐠
Thanks for watching
That substrate is not available here in Colorado USA, Is it clay based? Would Seachem Fluorite be similar?
I'm not sure
I actually just made one with river sand, hoping for the best.
Nice, let me know how it goes
Could a Fluval Plant 3.0 LED light grow macro algae and some soft corals? If so what settings would you recommend or would you use a different light.
Absolutely. Middle power
@@EverydayAquarist what won’t I be able to grow with that light?
How u getting on with you metal shed as fish house would you say it’s better then wooden shed you had before
Absolutely better
@@EverydayAquarist thank you love videos mate
Hi there, I’ve been watching some of your older videos as I’m getting a quibiq 30 and I saw you’ve got a Betta fish, has it ever jumped off so how can I deter that behaviour thanks
Floating plants help I believe
Thank you so much
!!!
As far as the price heavy hi myself, I found out at least from my Nanotech 6 gallons. I do 100% water change every other week and feed light in problem solved.
That's solution comes after after a year of trial and error with different stuff, including a little protein skimmer what she was more bother than it was worth
Nice glad it works for you as well
Have you had problems with the PH of that beautiful aquarium? 🌿 - Ramón 🇲🇽
Nope
@@EverydayAquarist Thank you! 😊
😂
Sorry lol I know you English chaps are Celsius and work American dudes are Fahrenheit
Yeah Celsius here friend
Sorry I know I'm just being stupid. I couldn't resist love all your videos.
