Well, Titans are apparently immortal unless you use Crucible weapons, so he likely couldn't die even if he wanted to.

I like the idea that since it looks like the titans are actually huge slaves, that they are native elemental creatures to hell and cannot be killed but neutralized by crucible blades
they can be killed. The champion titan was killed by doomguy, he is the only one who can kill titons.

There's a interesting theory that the city of Hebeth can also link Doom 3 to the same timeline. Y'know, the Soul Cube was found on Mars, it was created by an ancient civilisation... It's a theory, and we lack the information (a lot of information) to make this theory a fact, so don't take my words too seriously :)

Something I find really interesting - the Cacodemon had an appearance based on the Astral Dreadnought from D&D. In the Doom Eternal Codex, it is hinted that Cacodemons may have evolved from titans, and in this game the Dreadnought is introduced as a titan. Don’t know if it’s intentional but really cool nonetheless.
Well, the Sentinel Atlan Mechs utilized Wraith energy blades.
And the current set of weapons are pretty much souped up with Argent energy.
The Icon of Sin likely just didn't manage to power up completely, thus it was possible to damage it externally (in Doom 2, it was likely fully powered as only shooting rockets into its brain stopped it)
In the background of one of the missions, I'm pretty sure you can see a mech managed to kill a titan
ritchie19no2 in multiple parts throughout walking through the game you see sentinel mechs that killed titans. There was the one that you turned the blade on and then the blade opened up the next arena, and the other you shoot open with a sentinel mech cannon. Theyre not just in the background.

Yeah but the main reason why the sentinel mechs even got a chance to stab a titan was because. it was distracted or it had a weak spot open and most of the time when a titan was attacking something or being attacked there aways other strong demons with it. So if the sentinel mech charge in they would get destroyed.

That’s kinda unclear, supposedly a Titan can only be killed by a crucible, but at the same time we saw several corpses that didn’t have crucible blades lodged in them, presumedly the dreadnought is stronger then the average Titan, and the crucible blade thing only applies to that specific Titan, but that’s not made clear,
And let’s not discount the A.R.C forces, they ultimately lost lost but they put up a good fight!

The Other Titan corpses were almost always close to an Atlyn (Sentinel Mech), which use Crucible type weaponry. I don't believe the weaponry used by Atlyns need to be broken off to kill a Titan

Now with the Dark Lord destroyed all demons outside of the domain of Hell have been destroyed by the fundamental principles of the universe at large, meaning all Titans including the Dreadnaught and the Icon of Sin are no more. And even more, with the invasion of the unified Sentinel forces to Hell I imagine that every demon, from the mightiest Titan to the lowliest lost soul would be hunted down and slaughtered in the name of the Slayer. My theory on why the doomslayer weapons can deal damage to the icon of sin is because they powered a small amount of Argent Energy as far I notice that the weapons give some red hue color when firing but not powerful as the crucible.
I always thought the titans where peacefull demons, cause when you play the game each one you encounter is pretty chill even if you shoot a rocket at them. I thought that until i saw what the titan did to taras nabad
7:33 In the game, it states that the Khan Maykr had resurrected the icon of sin and was planning to perform a ritual on the heart of Valen's son to control it. However, stating that the Khan resurrected it implies that it was dead, killed by the Slayer. It is my theory that the Icon is special in that due to it being a reincarnation of a previously dead person, it is the only titan capable of death. At some point before the Doomguy arrives on Argent D'nur, the Doomguy fights and kills the icon of sin, in either Doom 1, Doom 2, and/or Doom 64, which at that point should be impossible as we know that #1 titans in general cannot be killed, only incapacitated, and #2 he was able to kill it without the use of the Slayer's Crucible Blade, so for the Doomguy to kill the Icon, especially without the Crucible, already makes the Icon different from it's titan brethren, which it is. The Icon is the only titan in the entire series, to my knowledge, that can completely destroy any dimension or universe he is put into, outside of hell. It is directly stated by Samuel Hayden that the longer the Icon of sin is on earth the stronger it will become because the longer it stays in the earthly dimension, the more it begins to completely break down local space-time until a singularity would become so big that it completely devours the entire observable universe and transports it into hell.

I though about it I think that those weird blue medalions are a part of the soul of The Hell Priests. The first Hell Priest says that his souls is guarded, but then he freaks out after he sees the blue medalion. Guardians of The Hell Priests have the blue medalion like the Gladiator on Sentinel Prime. The Doom Slayer has the blue medalion right of the start that means that he has already killed his guardian. I still don't know why didn't we got the blue medalion from the Doom Hunter. Probably because he wasn't the Guardian of the second Hell Priest. That means that The Doom Slayer did a lot of thing before the start of the campaing. The Titans are immortal so why don't make The Hell Priests immortal too, but in some Voldemort style, like splitting your souls into pieces.

I find it strange that after so much time, there was that surge of blue energy throughout the Dreadnaught's body when the Crucible blade was broken off. That led me to believe that the blade can no longer be removed and render it permanently dead, which also applies to the Icon of Sin.
It is interesting that when you repowered the night sentinel's giant mechs, their weapons would pierce the titans again as if the titan had healed from its previous wound over time. Maybe when the titan got injured enough, they got incapacitate for a long amount of time but would eventually heal? That explains how they are invincible.
Would make sense of the several battles with the Icon in the classic DOOM games.
Remember the titans we see dead vs sentinel mechs were on the maykr's side during the civil war. What makes us think they could control fully powered dreadnoughts? The maykr had to augment the icon of sin to control it. The dead titans we see and the slave labor thralls could just be weak or immature enough for the hell priests to control them.

Also the icon may be able to be damaged because it’s not really a “true” titan, being a reanimated sentinel and all.
About the Icon, could it be that the Slayer magically empowers every weapon he holds and that's why he could damage the Icon so badly? It would also explain the lack of reloading, the ammo gotten from chainsawing demons, the changed properties and power of either his grenades and weapons such as the flaming meathook, the rich get richer rune in D2016, the infinite ammo property that comes with Haste and many more examples.
I could believe it. After all, the Doom Slayer was blessed by the Divinity Machine. It could be that he can retroactively apply his power and speed to his own weapons. I also hypothesize that the Icon of Sin wasn't on Earth long enough to grow in physical strength to surpass the likes of other Titans.

Another great video to the doom list. Midnight, I was thinking another day how awesome would it be to have a night sentinel game. You think there is any probability that ID is planning a game for them? Considering that they were like space colinezers and as brutal as the doom slayer.
Maybe, but they will never bring out a game which focuses only on the night sentinels because it could be boring maybe... But they will appear again as a faction maybe in a whole new quake game where the doomslayer is present also and a couple of other faction which are playable..

Well the titans are city level (somewhat above 14 mega tons of tnt) scaling from the slayer tanking the explosion of the argent tower on Mars.
The icon is at least city level possibly mountain level through being comparable to doom slayer from eternal (if not slightly supirior to him physically) who was stated to be stronger then ever, the icon is also multi galaxy to universal via passive reality warping this doesn't scale to his regular stats though since if it did earth would be ash before the slayer got there.
Now I can't wait for the slayer to take on the nameless one aka mr.hell incarnate which would put doom slayer into complex multiversal tiers due to beating a 6 dimensional character.
I don't believe in that calc becouse there is not enough data to make it. Where did you see it? Also titans can't scale to doomslayer becouse they lost, the slayer can scale to the titan.
Also it's confirmed that demons don't move at supersonic speeds so also the old titan calc everyone followed is also invalid (they used KE with absurd speeds)

Speaking of titans what about that one titan's carcass we saw in doom 2016 from what I gathered with the audio demon lore things the doom slayer fought a titan of immense power and that there battle was devastating and when the titan fell the shadow horde were routed was that the champion titan you mentioned in the video?
I like to believe the Icon (like the Slayer) was tone down in power for gameplay reasons, and that (lorewise) the Slayer used his "non-conventional" weapons like Ballista, Lucifer's Bane, BFG 9000 and the Unmakyr (maybe the Paingiver and Bloodpunch too).
The huge fucker was breaking buildings by brushing them, and he doesn't break the one it's punching? I bet if they had more time, we would be using the LB's meathook and dash to go from building to building during the fight.

4:53 it's actually over 60 million years, as stated in the opening paragraph of the codex entry on the Cultist base.
5:41 The dreadnought Hell titan invaded Taras Nabad BEFORE the Sentinels had any Atlan mechs, as the codex entry that describes the invasion of the city was entry 10, while the one which first shows the Atlans (entry 11) describes them being used in campaigns to attack into Hell itself well AFTER the Slayer entered the Divinity machine and activated the crucible.
Also, the Atlans all use crucible weapons (the part where you need to recover a power core to activate the spear of the Atlan In Hell to cross over the blade to advance in the map may be indicative that the Atlans used those cores as "ammo" for their spears, so they can implant a crucible energy blade in every titan they fight).
So many interesting theories. I love these videos.

I think that once the handle is broken off of the crucible blade the blade disburses slowly into the titan killing it which is why you see the blue lines cover the titan once the handle is removed

I have a couple other things to mention as well.
If the Icon is only paralyzed, and the Slayer already killed a Champion Titan before, and also visited its corpse, then I feel certain that you will definitely kill it in the next game.
Also, isn't the Icon of Sin not originally a Titan? He is a resurrected abomination of the Betrayer's son. So doesn't that mean he is an engineered Titan of sorts which doesn't make him as durable as other Titans, but instead more powerful, which is why the Slayer was able to damage him.

I guess that the Icon of Sin can be damaged by weaponry bc it is not strong enough. It was just born now so long time ago (ressurected) and set free so it's body did not grew a protection. Plus Doomguy killed Icon with his own rockets during "the first age and the first battle" so i guess Icon is very strong but not the strongest and the only one that can be harmed.

After rewatching this I just thought in doom eternal what happened to the three titans walking around earth the ones that had the hell priest fortresses on their backs because we didn't kill them so are they still on earth? Will we have to deal with them in the dlc maybe? I'm surprised that I haven't seen anyone else mention that but it's worth a thought ay

I think the reason the icon could be "killed" by guns is because the icon was made differently (I think) than the other titans since the icon was made my resurrecting the betrayer's son and so that still makes him weaker in defense but his strength is matched by no other titan
Maybe if he stayed there longer he would be impenetrable but sadly we will never know

It would actually make somewhat sense that the Icon is physically weaker than other Titans.
It'd explain why the Khan Makyr wanted to give it armour.
And the Icon is obviously stronger in all other aspects from other Titans. I mean the guy shoots a massive laser beam with it's mind and he can Absorb other smaller demons for his own good.
AND it's very presence will warp reality to swallow up Earth. It's possible that, because the Slayer managed to get to the Icon of Sin early enough, he was able to damage it with his handheld weapons. Hayden's lines about him lingering on Earth may have been meme'd like crazy, but he probably has a point. Perhaps the Icon of Sin simply didn't have enough time to become as physically resilient as his fellow Titans.
My question is what happened to Vega in the end . He was left behind in urdak . And who is Samuel Hayden exactly . I mean he knows everything. Who is he exactly.
