10:12 I used to do this with spray painted copperclad PCB stock to make my own circuitboards. Just etch away all the paint that ISN'T the circuit traces and pads, and leave the circuit itself covered with flat black paint. Dunk into a fast etchant of my own making, and in a few minutes, you have a new board. Acetone to let the shiny parts back out.
Very fun! I love watching your videos because I seem to learn something new each time. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Nice toy!! Looking forward to see what you will come up with! Something cool Im sure.
Modern Technology is pretty interesting. You can to a lot of things with a setup like that!
The foot is long, and they should all have a 90deg mount to fasten them to the bench for repetitive bulk work.
That's a good idea for the feet 👍
What's the benefit of dropping Z over incrementaling turning up the laser power?
The peak power is at the point the laser is focused. Moving the laser along the Z axis also moves the point of peak power. It also helps to keep the laser point to its minimum size & maximum resolution.
I heard you say the name of this tool before and I thought you said it was a taser system, I thought taser was a brand name for stun gun but thinking back I think they've got an engineering style brand name like something technologies anyways up until I saw it written I thought this was made by the same people who outfit police
Love to know if it will cut through 3oz leather for prototyping projects. Before you send away the file for making a die.
Oh yes it will for sure cut through 3oz leather. I cut some 3mm thick leather with my 20W system a while back, so no problem for this one
"Welcome to Episode n of Fun With Lasers wit me, Doooooooooodlebud!" 😄
I'm again surprised that there is no real self alignment software/test. Maybe this doesn't exist at this level of product -- To check (and observe) a bunch of different points (more than 3) and then do a fit of the parameters of the various motors (x and y) to get the n points as close as possible to dead on.(And develop an internal model of the actual plane of motion.) Or are stepper motors and such so accurate these days that such an alignment step would be superfluous at this price level?
The stepper motors are extremely accurate. The alignment check is to ensure everything has been done properly during the assembly process and flush out any issues.
What about raising the legs? Can this one be raised for taller objects such as one of the other laser devices you had? This one seems to work out some of the kinks the other machines had.
Yup this one has attachment legs to raise the system for using the rotary or thick material. I'll be using them on a future video. Yeah this one seems to sort out all the things I found with other machines. Pretty happy with it so far. Looking forward to seeing how well the chuck works with this one.
What is the wire with connecter end that hangs down next to wifi antenna rightside bottom of the control panel , what does it connect to? I wish there was a way that I could insert a picture... Thank you
I'll give it a look tonight when I get home and get back to you. If you want I can send you a pic if you shoot me an email at thedoodlebud@gmail.com
I am new on this and have ATEZR 35W which i am having truble with cutting redtangle and cirycle dose not cut right not clean and is off the line any idae why .thaks
Did you check for squareness like I showed in the video?
Yeah, too bad they don't stand behind their product. Bought one worked a total of 3x's and been going back & forth with the business for the past month
