@TopHatGamingManChannel Honestly Street Fighter is king of 2D martial arts game in history. That when other games follow it’s just not satisfying to play and lose interest. Leaving Mortal Kombat and killer instinct would be only rivals.
@@Mget41Capcom JP in the early 90s created a boxer who look like young Mike Tyson called Mike Bison (M. Bison)... And it was Capcom US that had to change the name and stress over the Mike Tyson issue. In another early fg, World Heroes, the first version of Muscle Power was made as a reference to Hulk Hogan. But that probably looked problematic for the localizers (though I don't really know the details behind the scenes) and that issue must have influenced the later WH versions to shave Muscle Power's mustache so it's not similar to Hulk Hogan anymore. In anime, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is full of direct and obvious references to western music, and the franchise is still going nowadays without a single worry... but when localization started, all those names had to be changed to avoid matching the names of songs and artists.
Funny how Capcom sued Data East but later they copied their homework Capcom copied Lee's gameplay and gave it to Yun. No wonder Yun ended up so OP, Lee was Top Tier in every Fighter's History game Mizoguchi's TsuuTenSai is the original Shinryuken They gave it to Ken Ryoko Kano, the first female grappler, was the inspiration for Makoto Jean is the first character who throws a rose for his projectile and likes his suspenders. Something that Dudley got Edit: SNK copied Ray's Dynamite Tackle and gave it to Terry Bogard as the Power Charge
Plus the game COMMANDO from 1985 - even though Capcom produced it, Data East released it, distributed and also made the arcade cabinets for the game 😂 what a weird friendship these two companies have 😅 !!
To an extent, I think Capcom also kinda copied a game series called Hiryu no Ken. Albert Roseman was a british, gentleman boxer who threw roses at the start of the fight and "The End"ed people SIX YEARS before Dudley. I guess capcom got pissy he looked a bit too much like Eagle.
Capcom is the superpower of the fg genre, so they will be always forgiven for that. But if a smaller company takes anything from Capcom they will be brutally attacked. The best example to me must be SNK's Ryo, whose reputation was dragged into a pit by the public outside the SNK community... because Ryo "dared" to be a karateka who wears a karate gi (?!?) and uses a fireball (not even the same hadouken gesture) and a jumping uppercut, in a game that came right after SF2. Ryo's creator was the same creator of hadouken and shoryuken anyway. And Ryo wasn't purely based on a SF shoto, he also mixed influences with Kenshiro from HNK, etc... but nothing changed the slander that ruined his reputation. And then came Dan, who wasn't even a malicious idea but fueled the hating fanboys anyway.
I loved both Street Fighter II and Fighter's History back in the day. Not gonna lie, one of the reasons why I loved Fighter's History is because it kind of felt like some sort of extra characters DLC for SF2 so maybe Capcom had a point 🤣 Ryoko was my main!!
Ryoko FTW! BTW the YAWARA! anime is one of the inspirations for Ryoko, the other being the real life japanese judoka Ryoko Tani. YAWARA! is available on UA-cam, in case you're interested.
@@persona83 You are a man of culture 👍 What is interesting is that there is another character called Ryoko who is also inspired by YAWARA! and Ryoko Tani Her name is Ryoko Izumo, who made her debut in World Heroes 2 Fighter's History and World Heroes 2, released the same year, 1993 Ryoko Kano came one month earlier than Ryoko Izumo The main difference between the two is that Ryoko (FH) is a tomboy while Ryoko (WH) is a cutesy, feminine and pure gal
@@meganinten0078 And Ryoko has historical importance for being a lightweight type of character with command grab, a huge contrast to the current model in that period: grappler = Zangief. Also Ryoko is one of the first cute girls... in 93, a time when all females still had a strong "fighter aura" like Chun Li, Cammy, King, Mai, Charlotte, Sarah, Pai Chan, Sonya, Janne, Yung Mie, etc. The cute girls who defied that rule were Ryoko from FH, Ryoko from WH, Nakoruru and Athena. And the idea became a big contribution to the genre to push the options of character types outside the SF2 stereotypes. Then even SF ended up pressured to have cute girls like Sakura, and recently Lilly is a cute girl, and short, and has a command grab. Every franchise has at least one cute girl now. The problem is that FH (like WH) became obscure and can't get the public recognition for that achievement. The current public usually thinks the earliest cute girls are Sakura, Athena and Yuri.
Karnov is featured in many Data East's games... Karnov is the very first boss of "Bad Dudes', Karnov and Chelnov are in the game "Tumblepop" as enemies' minions, Karnov is featured in the basketball game "Street Hoop" wearing hip-hop clothing, etc.
Karnov is one of the first guest characters and is probably the first fg character who came originally from a different genre, since FH is from 93 and Athena, Kensou, Ralf and Clark debuted in the following year in KOF 94. But FH is a small franchise that died very early and is obscure by now, so that historical achievement is meaningless.
I've always wondered why - if Capcom was willing to sue Data East for Fighters History.. Why didn't they go after SNK for World Heroes? They'd have just as much of a case there.
@@IamLegend32 Because Capcom thought it would be easy to sue and win against a small company like Data East As stated in the video. Capcom wanted to monopolize the entire fighting game industry
Ryoko from this game has historical importance for being a lightweight type of character with a command grab, a huge contrast to the current model in that period: grappler = Zangief. @@carlosaugusto9821 I personally prefer Ryoko Izumo over Ryoko Kano FH Ryoko is a rude tomboy, while WH Ryoko is very femenine and cutesy I miss female characters that are very feminine and cute Nowadays there are two types of female characters, the $€×y or the tomboy
I really liked Fighter’s history mainly because of Ryoko Kano. She subverts so many expectations because she’s the smallest character in the game, and is still an extremely powerful grappler.
It's interesting to think about the implications of Capcom monopolizing genres (practically) if they won that lawsuit and successfully managed to censor all other fg rivals. Then what would have been of the whole horror scene and the whole action scene after the creation of Resident Evil and Devil May Cry?
I LOOOOVED Fighters History! Unique characters. My favorite characters were Lee and Ryoko! Gotta love Mizourogi fireball "TAKE A LOOK AT THAT!" Which, I presumably thought what he said. 😅😅😅😅✨✨
Lotta people didn't know this: you could combo into command grabs. If a character had a special motion grab (command grab), they could hit the opponent with a normal punch or kick, then perform the command grab motion and it will go right into the grab for more damage. I love Ryoko.
I think only grapplers can do command throws in Fighters History. So only Ryoko and Marstorius. But yeah, Ryoko rules, Cho Yama Arashi is the strongest command grab, and probably the strongest move in the game.
@@Burn_Angel With Ryoko, you had to be super close to get the mountain drop, so I could only get one jab in order to connect. Any other attack and she would do the command grab where she switches sides and just plants you with her shoulder. Such a fun game.
@@LordHollow I tried it, you can actually hit the oponent with a heavy punch and still connect a Cho Yama Arashi, but only if you're fast enough, and on hit. If it's blocked, the oponent is pushed away just enough for you to get an Ippon Seoi instead. Which is infuriating, because that's literally the weakest throw in the game, even weaker than Zazie's throw.
This weren't the only game to mimic street fighter , art of fighting mimicked street fighter to the point where it's become street fighters weird brother, can you do a video about street fighter and art of fighting resemblances.
8:31-8:37 But Mizoguchi came up before Dan 😅 Nothing against Ray "BAKED POTATO!!" McDougall but Makoto "TAKE A LOOK AT THAT!!!" Mizoguchi was always cooler Ray's popularity was overshadowed by Mizoguchi's. Even Ryoko was more popular than Ray. No wonder Mizoguchi became the main protagonist of the Fighter's History series in the last game and also appeared as a guest in The King of Fighters Hope we see him and Ryoko in new games
Plus how the music changes to a more dramatic and chaotic tone when you are "near K.O" • very similar to Street Fighter 2 😮!! But I have to admit, Ray's theme is awesome 👍 it has to be the best theme of the game!!
If I created something and someone else was using it to get rich on I would make sure they would never work in that industry or anything like it for the rest of their life
Bold of Capcom to complain about clone characters when most of the SFII roster were an expy or an ersatz of manga/anime characters with moves directly taken from those mediums, lol.
Sadly, Fighter's History is not owned by SNK G-Mode is the actual owner of the FH series I would love to see Ryoko Kano vs Makoto (Street Fighter) Ryoko was like the inspiration for Makoto
@@carlosaugusto9821 Indeed. I wanted to see not only Fighter's History but all other fighting game franchises who were in the NEO GEO arcade machine to appear in The King of Fighters Maybe SNK could make a deal with to the owners of those franchises, like Sakurai did years later with Smash Bros Imagine a big crossover between all games who were on the NEO GEO, like Fight Fever, Fighter's History, World Heroes, Ninja Master's, Ragnagard, Waku Waku 7, etc One can always dream...
Karnov's Revenge is one of my favorite fighting games. Also I always thought that tge first World Heroes game was much more of a copycat than Fighters History as half of the characters were literally the same with the Street Fighter characters except the looks and names.
What always struck me as being weird about Fighter's History (ther original) was that they not only borrowed the control scheme and mechanics of SF2, but also the art style. Other early fighting games used a lot of the same mechanics, but if you put the characters and portraits next to the SF2 ones, you'd be hard-pressed not to recognize they were from different games. Fighter's History on the other hand - the art looked like it could have been from SF2. Combine that with the very (very) similar characters (Mizoguchi, as mentioned, is essentially "we have Ryu at home"), and it's honestly understandable how the lawsuit happened. The verdict, of course, opened the door for *lots* of imitators, but AFAIK none ever were quite so close to the original as Fighter's History was to SF2.
Also there is the premise: other games like Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting have different plots, including vengeance and family affairs, while Fighters History has the same tournament thing.
Plus how the music changes to a more dramatic and chaotic tone when you are "near K.O" • very similar to Street Fighter 2 😮!! But I have to admit, Ray's theme is awesome 👍 it has to be the best theme of the game!!
You lack knowlegdge of the release timeline of other games to understand that the biggest part of "SF2 imitators" were already out before the lawsuit. And Capcom lost very understandably, but the cheapest games died early anyways. So it didn't matter much. In natural selection-like dynamics, the stronger games lasted longer, like SNK games, and Capcom was not going to do anything about them... or else those should have been logically the first target since Fatal Fury is from 91 while Fighters History is from 93. Secondly, the early games around 92-94 preferred to take ideas from SNK games too, that were more creative mechanically. And eventually all Capcom games went all out in taking SNK's ideas as well. Like, SF only got dashes (invented by AOF in 92) in SF3 but some smaller games got dashes before SF, like World Heroes. At least only the backdash, which is a Fatal Fury 2 reference (foward dash is only from FF3). So that's one example of SNK influence on early games.
I honestly don’t mind some of these so called “Copycats”. Competition helps create innovation, which has given us so many great games over the years. Fighter’s History walked so that Karnov’s Revenger could run. By the way, would you consider covering Breakers and Kaiser Knuckle?
i have this game featured in my 1993 (im not sure) electrnic gaming monthly magazine, even the images you use. its around the last pages of the magazine. oh nostalgia..
I have to admit, I like Matlok. He is like a generic enemy from a 90s beat em up who got tired of being beaten so he became a fighter and a musician 😁 I like his themes in both the original FH and Dynamite I would like to see Matlok meeting Duck King (Fatal Fury/KOF) "SPINNING BLADE!!" "OVERRATED KICK!!" "OUCH! COME ON!!"
How about addressing how Mortal Kombat was inspired by several things from World Heroes, which appeared some months earlier in Japan? Like the stage with spikes in it, or the 2 opposite ninjas, for instance? (1:28 one of which even named Hanzou).
Unpopular opinion. The music of the original Fighter's History is better than the music of Street Fighter 2 🎵 GAMADELIC (Data East's in-house band at that time) did an excellent job! In 2015 thet made a cover of Chelnov's theme, called 'Power of Coal Miner' In 2017 they made a cover of Mizoguchi's theme from the original Fighter's History
@@Spinning_Wave Thank you :) I like all the tracks in the original Fighter's History Even the Character Select and Game Over themes are great! As for the characters, Lee, Samchay, Jean, Matlok, Clown and Ray have my favorite tracks. Sadly, the changed the themes for the characters in Dynamite and as much as I like those, I much prefer the music in the original FH
@@meganinten0078 To be honest I didn't play FH that much, but I really dig the "versus" theme. OTOH I played a lot of FHD, being Ryoko's theme and Yungmie's theme my favs.
"Street Fighter remains the King of Fighters, with the art of fighting in SF6 proving the the classic franchise still has the Killer Instinct to be one of the Eternal Champions. In this Virtual Fighter where World Heroes assemble, in a crazy twist even Terry Bogard can take part in Mortal Kombat". The amount of puns is impeccable.
What I'm wondering is if Ryoko in any way inspired the design of Makoto in Third Strike-not necessarily the move set but their appearances are so strikingly similar.
Surprised they even went to court... considering Street Fighter basically was inspired by the martial art films that came before. Even Blanka was inspired off of Marvel's Hulk.
9:14 "BANANA ROSE!!" 😆 I like Jean, he had a better voice in the first Fighter's History The first time I saw Jean, I thought he was a male version of King (Art of Fighting/KOF) or King's younger brother but grown up Both are french, blonde and like roses 9:46 And don't forget that Clown is like Hisoka (Hunter x Hunter) if you know what I mean 👀 Also, maybe is just me but Clown and Jean might be siblings They are both skilled gymnasts, are blonde, flamboyants and both think that they are handsome Clown's ending in FH Mizoguchi Kiki Ippatsu! leaves you with more questions than answers 🤯
This is like baby lane getting kicked by a bunch of gangstas in Las Vegas at the Tyson fight but only picking out Tupac to take out. There was a lot of imitators but Capcom chose them to make an example of
Capcom losing this suit was a great day for fighting games, as the legal precedent set would've possibly put Capcom in position to issue C&D's against any future fighting game it felt used too many of SF2's concepts. It is not hyperbole to say that we might have no Tekken or KOF had Capcom been victorious.
Oh I can definitely see with the round 1 fight, the VS screen font, the lifebars. However Capcom can go screw themselves about winquotes which are common in all fighting games and also the slowmo ko animation. The fireball also looks nothing like a Hadouken fireball
Plus how the music changes to a more dramatic and chaotic tone when you are "near K.O" • very similar to Street Fighter 2 😮!! But I have to admit, Ray's theme is awesome 👍 it has to be the best theme of the game!!
@TonySkittleAlive184 sure, but pretty much all NES games had that kind of thing if you fight a stage boss. Heck Cadillacs and Dinosaurs also had slow mo as well as Streets of Rage when you defeat a boss character. It was replicating 90s and 80s martial arts and action movies beating the antagonist in a fight
We had both SF2 and FH in the arcades, in some of them even next to each other. But we never thought they were very similar. I mean, sure, you had projectiles and cooky looking fighters, but that was about it. BTW it's not Jean as in Jean Grey, it's Jean as in Jean-Paul Belmondo, Jean-Pierre Papin or Jean Alesi. MaRstorius, not Mastorius.
I will also like to meet a person, that never plays Street fighter, and saw fighters history, the superior game, and they've played a lot of niche games, and not so much the mainstream, all because, no one had it, and or had other priorities. They vaguely played Street fighter, but at the time, thought it was mid. Gave it a another chance, until Street fighter 4 came out.
Plus how the music changes to a more dramatic and chaotic tone when you are "near K.O" • very similar to Street Fighter 2 😮!! But I have to admit, Ray's theme is awesome 👍 it has to be the best theme of the game!!
There were many games that were Street Fighter 2 knockoffs like World Heroes, Fatal Fury 2, Art of Fighting, Power Instinct etc. Why did Capcom only go after Data East?
Thanks THG . Happy the lawsuit got tossed, I really enjoy the fighters history games and still look forward to playing it today . I feel they did a really good job at creating balance amongst the characters, and game play that draws you in with its speed, tension and intensity. Didn't know about that strong and weak button strategy.. thats pretty cool and something Im going to try to master now..would be cool to play some people online.
I hate how game patents and stuff, are really stifling creativity, because game developers have to basically be walking around eggshells, as they can't get all of their ideas and stuff come to light, since they have to be careful not to step on anyone's toes, or else its a never ending legal battle for any company that wants to play the victim card. Like I get that companies want to protect their ideas and stuff, since game development can get really expensive, to the point that some new Triple A games have the budgets of freaking Hollywood films, but what sucks is that a lot of these companies aren't even making new games, so those patents and garbage are basically just limiting what gets released, and like I could understand if they made it so that requesting to use their patents or whatever, was as easy as paying a fee or royalties depending on how successful a new game could be, but they don't make it that easy, which is why its a real miracle that someone like Masahiro Sakurai, was able to borrow game mechanics and even characters from other game franchises, so that he could use them in the Smash games, and honestly companies should stop spending so much in court rooms and stuff, and instead allocate those funds to making better higher quality games, that can directly compete with those new games that are looked at like a threat, instead of trying to make up whatever legal story they can come up with in order to try and build a case, I'm specifically referring to Nintendo vs Pocketpair.
there were definitely moves stole from street fighter. Like that Guile clone's spin kick. That's a joke the judge couldn't see these obvious copyright infringements.
@@Spinning_Wave While I admit, Dynamite has the best gameplay I think the original FH has better music and voices Matlok, Ray, Lee, Jean sound better in the first FH Also, Dynamite is very hard against the computer 😅
I agree.. obviously the graphics are better in the sequel (obviously due to the NEO GEO hardware) but yes the predecessor FH gameplay is better, the music is better, even the punch and kicks sound effects are better 👍
I will love to meet a person that never heard of Street fighter, and or Tekken, until they saw Street fighter five and Tekken seven. They have played this, that, and the other fight games, just not Street fighter, until Street fighter five and Tekken seven. Hell, never knew there was a street fighter anime and the live action movie. They've been busy, with, this, that, and the other thing, but yet, somehow, skip over a lot of things, when it comes to Street fighter, and Tekken.
Data East should've made both Fighters History games as Bad Dudes II & III. With adventure-modes, as well as Blade & Striker being the main protagonists instead of the generic and uninspired Ray McDougall.
What is Bad Dudes? 😅 Also, I think Ray is fine but Mizoguchi was always cooler and more popular to the point that he took over the role of main protagonist Mizoguchi is one of the best 'Ryu clones' He is fun!
@@meganinten0078 Ray is just Axel Stone and me… Nothing else. But I do agree, Mizoguchi is one of the best fighting game characters ever made, but not the star of the roster. Also, Bad Dudes is more well known than this game.
@@meganinten0078Bad Dudes is a beat 'em up game made by DATA EAST ➡️ It's similar to how "Kung Fu Master" and "Vigilante" works but yes with better graphics than the aforementioned. Bad Dudes is available for PlayStation 4 and 5 and Nintendo Switch.

the first time i ended up playing street fighter 2 it was on the megadrive, Dont know if it was just me or what but i felt bein in england the megadrive and mastersystem where way more commonly chosen over the nes and snes
Does anyone remember the sprite-based fighting game with the guy in blue with long blond hair and a three section staff? His name was Goldar and he had a special move where he'd throw a wave of water across the ground. He's the only character I remember. I know I sound crazy but this D-list arcade game existed in the mid 90s at the height of the fighter craze.
It’s called “Martial Champion.” It wasn’t a three section staff but nunchucks. Where did you see it? Game was almost unheard of in the states. It’s a Konami game.
@funkrates4778 I remember a local grocery store (Piggly Wiggly?) in northern TN where my mom lived had it alongside some older classic arcades in the entrance. I'd play it when I'd go down to visit her over the weekend if we went grocery shopping when I was a kid. I could have sworn I remembered him having a three section weapon. I thought it looked like three section nunchucks but wasn't sure that was a thing but I knew a staff is.
@funkrates4778 And it does indeed look more like shorter nunchucks but if you look up his bio it names it a three section staff. Thanks for telling me the name of this game. It's driven me crazy for the past few decades. lol
Curl himself into a ball , Blanka?.............looks like they used moves but mixed in just like how World heroes combined M Bison and Dhalsim's attacks to create Brocken
Fighters History should've dropped on Sega Genesis since SF2 wasn't going to be ported to Sega for at least 1 year. But I get it, FH wanted to next to SF2 so bad

@TopHatGamingManChannel Honestly Street Fighter is king of 2D martial arts game in history. That when other games follow it’s just not satisfying to play and lose interest. Leaving Mortal Kombat and killer instinct would be only rivals.
What I find interesting is Capcom USA was suing Data East USA, but both Japanese parent companies didn't have a problem with it. 🤷♂️
I think the Japanese copyright laws are a bit more generous. See the fire pro or any non licensed puroresu game.
Americans are big babies
@@Mget41I think Capcom JP knew the game wouldn't put a dent in their bank account, so why even bother. 😄
@@CoolWave01they probably consider it flattering 😂
Funny how Capcom sued Data East but later they copied their homework
Capcom copied Lee's gameplay and gave it to Yun. No wonder Yun ended up so OP, Lee was Top Tier in every Fighter's History game
Mizoguchi's TsuuTenSai is the original Shinryuken
They gave it to Ken
Ryoko Kano, the first female grappler, was the inspiration for Makoto
Jean is the first character who throws a rose for his projectile and likes his suspenders. Something that Dudley got
Edit: SNK copied Ray's Dynamite Tackle and gave it to Terry Bogard as the Power Charge
That Jean with suspenders looked like the jean claude van damme meme where he is dancing with 2 girls
Karate champ predates street fighter and the lawsuit got tossed out
Plus the game COMMANDO from 1985 - even though Capcom produced it, Data East released it, distributed and also made the arcade cabinets for the game 😂 what a weird friendship these two companies have 😅 !!
The only way it could be copyright infringement is if they actually used SF2 code, or copied graphic/audio assets directly.
Ryu : “can I borrow some sugar?”
Ken: “SUREYOUCAN!!”
Ken : "I'm taking this bird home
Ryu : "THATS'NOT'YA'BIRD'KEN!"

Ryoko is cool
She is strong in the original game, sadly she became trash in the sequels 😅
My mains are Jean, Ryoko and Mizoguchi
Ryoko FTW! BTW the YAWARA! anime is one of the inspirations for Ryoko, the other being the real life japanese judoka Ryoko Tani. YAWARA! is available on UA-cam, in case you're interested.

Her name is Ryoko Izumo, who made her debut in World Heroes 2
Fighter's History and World Heroes 2, released the same year, 1993
Ryoko Kano came one month earlier than Ryoko Izumo
The main difference between the two is that Ryoko (FH) is a tomboy while Ryoko (WH) is a cutesy, feminine and pure gal
@@meganinten0078 And Ryoko has historical importance for being a lightweight type of character with command grab, a huge contrast to the current model in that period: grappler = Zangief.

Wasn't Data East the champion for the first PvP fighter? Karate Champ? Which means they were the first to create the white and red gis.
"Fighter's History Dynamite" is a much better name than "Karnov's Revenge." (That's it.)
@@illustreightr2630 Facts!
Nowadays there are two types of female characters, the $€×y or the tomboy
I really liked Fighter’s history mainly because of Ryoko Kano. She subverts so many expectations because she’s the smallest character in the game, and is still an extremely powerful grappler.
Her special command throw is the strongest special in the game, 'nuff said.
I remember playing Fighter's History on my Sega Genesis. And Power Moves on my Snes.
Loved fighters history cause SF was always a wait time to play
It's interesting to think about the implications of Capcom monopolizing genres (practically) if they won that lawsuit and successfully managed to censor all other fg rivals. Then what would have been of the whole horror scene and the whole action scene after the creation of Resident Evil and Devil May Cry?
I LOOOOVED Fighters History! Unique characters. My favorite characters were Lee and Ryoko! Gotta love Mizourogi fireball "TAKE A LOOK AT THAT!" Which, I presumably thought what he said. 😅😅😅😅✨✨
I didn't think you was gonna go ALL THE WAY with the fighting game references
"First time here?"
Karnov is one of the first guest characters and is probably the first fg character who came originally from a different genre, since FH is from 93 and Athena, Kensou, Ralf and Clark debuted in the following year in KOF 94. It is not hyperbole to say that we might have no Tekken or KOF had Capcom been victorious.

Ha ha loved it how you incorporated every top fighting game franchise in your introduction! 😊
I use to want the Neo Geo system so bad when I was younger. Parents wouldn't budge. I wanted to play this game.

Also, I think Ray is fine but Mizoguchi was always cooler and more popular to the point that he took over the role of main protagonist
Mizoguchi is one of the best 'Ryu clones'
He is fun!
@@meganinten0078
Ray is just Axel Stone and me… Nothing else.
I love the Bad Dudes ending. The main character is eating a burger with President Ronald Reagan in front of the White House 😂😂 • classic!!
Back in the day Capcom was protecting their product.
Data east couldn't even hide the fact they were doing it 😂
Plus how the music changes to a more dramatic and chaotic tone when you are "near K.O" • very similar to Street Fighter 2 😮!! But I have to admit, Ray's theme is awesome 👍 it has to be the best theme of the game!!
@@TonySkittleAlive184 right
Lost the lawsuit attempt though
@@carlosaugusto9821 yep.
FIghter's HIstory clearly is an attempt at surfing on SF2's success, like so many others. Now, is it a carbon copy? Absolutely not. The game has its own personality for sure.
Capcom wasn't screwing around about street fighter.😂
At least SNK and adk never had this problem.
Bro, Muay Thai boxer 'Samchay' is based on living legend Saenchai.
I remember seeing this in our local bowling alley. Years later trying to get it working on MAME with no joy. Good stuff, screw the haters.
Everything that was on a Neo-Geo cabinet always felt like a cheap, knock-off game.
Ain’t no freakin way you called all those legendary games knock offs
Plus how the music changes to a more dramatic and chaotic tone when you are "near K.O" • very similar to Street Fighter 2 😮!! But I have to admit, Ray's theme is awesome 👍 it has to be the best theme of the game!!
Then it would have been easy for Capcom to sue SNK and shut everything down. But even the lawsuit against Fighter's History failed.
Im early. I like the fighting games pun you done😅
Yea that was a flawless victory lol
I love how you named all my favorite fighting games
the first time i ended up playing street fighter 2 it was on the megadrive, Dont know if it was just me or what but i felt bein in england the megadrive and mastersystem where way more commonly chosen over the nes and snes
Yeah I remember this one I was reading the electric gaming monthly magazine back in the day it's not really sound like a old man
Unless they entirely copied the move sets and their timing, or stripped code, yeah its highly similar but there isn't infringement in a sane system.
They went after Fighter's History but didn't go after World Heroes. Strange.
Facts 👌
The day that Capcom hand Mike Tyson a royalties check is the day I will watch the rest of this video.
Sorry, I don’t play Fighter’s History, I play Street Fighter!
Then you're not as cool as you think you are. 😅
So! You want a cookie or something?!
You know you don’t. This guys and ladies this the leader of the “Fighters History” fan club right here 🙂 🤮
Sorry for you too
Never Played Fighter History, but I did Play Karnov's Revenge (The Sequel).. it was Pretty Cool.
Wow! You got me interested in this game now. I didn’t know all
This about this game. Specially the Super famicom.
Yeah I just looked it up and I got his name wrong too. His name wasn't Goldar like the Power Rangers villain, it was Goldor.
@funkrates4778 And it does indeed look more like shorter nunchucks but if you look up his bio it names it a three section staff. Thanks for telling me the name of this game. It's driven me crazy for the past few decades. lol
@@SolarDNA You’re absolutely right. It was a three section staff, a sangiekun. I just checked. Thanks for answering my question too.
wait what happened to this game? it was suppose to be out on steam but it was removed :(
It's available for PlayStation 4 and 5 under the title KARNOVS REVENGE.
I had loads of fun with fighters history! When they announce the fighters name in the game was funny for me and yet cool too LoL.
Curl himself into a ball , Blanka?.............looks like they used moves but mixed in just like how World heroes combined M Bison and Dhalsim's attacks to create Brocken
Design wise both Bison and Brocken (and Kaiser Knuckle's General, while we are at it) are inspired by Brocken from Kinnikuman, a classic anime.
@carlosaugusto9821 great so Bison was inspired by brocken from the anime and world heroes brocken was inspired by the video game character M Bison.
Fighters History should've dropped on Sega Genesis since SF2 wasn't going to be ported to Sega for at least 1 year. But I get it, FH wanted to next to SF2 so bad
