- This superb looking Rickman Metisse Triumph is a race replica of hollywood film star Steve McQueen's desert racer. Steve had two of these machines in his collection back in the day and just recently Metisse motorcycles are building a limited edition of only 100 period accurate motorcycles for sale. These machines have been personally endorsed by the McQueen family and are 100% exact copies of the bikes that Steve owned in the 1960's.

That was great Chris it really caught the moment to just look at the workmanship of a classic bike made by and enjoyed by some great men.Well done to the Rickman brothers. .
In my humble opinion.....this is one of the most beautiful bikes ever built....A true masterpiece by the Rickmans. I live in the states and in 73 my parents one of which british btw bought me a Rickman zundapp 125 6 day isdt for my 16th birthday, even that entry level Rickman was magnificant and of course stolen in 1977........

No problem Alan it's such a nice machine, and if I had my skates on and more time on the day I should maybe have taken it out of the marquee to a more picturesque location for better pictures, although maybe we could do that at a later date maybe during closed racing season.
Hi all, Gerry Lisi who owns Metisse built me a Steve McQueen in 2016. Mine has the T140v engine mated to a left foot gear change. It also has the collapsible footrests and a massive BSA TLS front brake which means it really can stop. Until you own one you will never appreciate what that frame can do in the right hands. I live in Italy and my bike is known across Tuscany and Umbria. Ciao. Chris

Hi Chris, great video footage of the Hungerford X cross. We lived in Marden in Wiltshire until 2 years ago and I competed in all the Tidworth Enduros etc and rode with Jon Wildman etc. Now I live in Italy and have met the same great guys as a result of bikes. Ciao and keep up the good work. P.S. you should call Gerry Lisi at Metisse and mention my name and get to ride a Desert Racer as it will blow your mind in terms of abilities. Gerry is brilliant!
I wonder if he did some fine tuning on that motor?
