Ireland! Shamrocks, shenanigans, sheep and pubs are some of the many highlights the Emerald Isle has to offer - that`s what Hungarian punk rockers Paddy And The Rats rightfully realized and quickly whipped out their fiddles and plugged in their guitars. Well, it`s one thing to dream about being Irish, but the Miskolc-based six piece instead brooded over a couple of cold beers and rum casks and decided to throw a hefty dose of pirate-isms, polka and gypsy punk into the mix! Their fifth album Riot City Outlaws is a bold step into a bright future boosted by the raw and powerful production by Grammy winner Cameron Webb (Motörhead, Megadeth, Social Distortion, Pennywise). Both Cameron and singer Paddy O`Reilly opted for a cool pop-punk approach in the vein of Green Day - overflowing with catchy choruses and dynamic up-tempo songs, Of course there are pirate party anthems like ‘Join the riot‘ and ‘One last ale‘, as well as shanties such as ‘Black Sails‘ and ‘Where Red Paints the Ocean‘ equally show the darker side of life on the Seven Seas.
Tipsy ballads ‘Castaway‘ and ‘Another life‘ plus a healthy infusion of Irish influenced punk rock songs (‘Blow‘, ‘Aerolites‘) round off a grimy pirate party bringing unwashed pub glory straight to your merry home!
this was clipped at the end of a windrose song and i had to hunt it down down because i really liked what i heard

I discovered them in live last weekend at Trolls&Légendes, they were on fire, it was awesome !

Napalm Records keeps finding good bands. I have a lot of their stuff on my iPod. Not disappointing at all. Just need more time in the day to listen to all of it. Lol.

i thank them for both introducing me for (what later became Alestorm) Battleheart, Turisas and All That Remains (sadly ive lost most of my cd's but i remember sitting either at home of at the local library with headphones on and just chilling on max volume, reading metalhammer and listning to whatever cd that were with the mag that month.. good days
Quantity and quality, my start was with John Garcia and the Band of gold, been down this rabbit hole finding new good bands regularly.

Damn, napal records has a lot of good bands. Alestorm, gloryhammer, powerwolf, wind rose and this one. Hell yeah.

I discovered you at the Tiszaújváros triathlon, where my husband grew up. We heard your music and knew that his 75 year old granddad would love it, so we sprinted back to his flat in the high street only to find that he had already left. So we sprinted back out again to the town square and we found him right in the middle of the crowd, jumping up and down and cheering with the biggest grin on his face. Every time we visit him now we play your music along with music legends Tom Jones and Elvis Presley, and it never loses it's charm, so come back to Tiszaújváros soon!

Im from Canada and i probably listen to this band more than any other band, reminds me of the good ol nefie music.
I just discovered them in Party like a Pirate....this band is catchy.
Check out a band called Storm Seeker as well. Maybe start with their Dong Open Air video. My personal favorite pirate band, with Alestorm as close second.

I've heard these dudes a long time ago (10 years +-) in a village around a river Salza in Austria, I've been in a tent wanting to fall asleep as to feel fresh for canoeing the next day but then I heard some folk metal and just had to check them out, most memorable experience I've had (I've been 10+- years old)

Been following this band for years now and It's about time an american label decided to distribute tehir stuff in north america even if it's a metal label (go figure). Now if they can also release all their former albums and not just the last one it would be awesome
