Functions as designed... MIIINT👌👌👌👌 We have had a few flickers at work lately. Scrambles VFDs including those on the elevators and causes shunt trip breakers to operate.
Short outages like that, with no recloser hits, are usually due to the power company doing some switching for maintenance. Especially since the weather isn't bad.
A couple of days ago my area had something like this. At first, we started having a brownout. Then the power started turning on and off. Finally, we had a full power outage for a short time. Even though I live in a pretty populated area, my area’s power comes from lines that run very long distances through very rural areas. There were some storms in the distance that probably caused that.
Maybe some weather or tornado knocks out the power. Or whatever. But luckily for mechanical locks that are chain driven or cable driven or keywound or battery operated rather than plug in or internet sync up
Great to see everything working great when the power does go out. I think stuff like that is normally switching something then switching it back like to repair something ect.
I think the cause of the outage was the substation that powers your house had lost it's incoming feed as there was a transmission line failure from an error in the system which is probably why there were 2 quick restores in the system and not a physical issue just like when it happened at the elementary/middle school where it also killed the Notifier 640 there
could have been a reroute if a part of the circuit was compromised they do it all the time around here goes out just long enough to close all 27 fire doors in my building i get to re open but i wait until the utility power is on for at least 10 mins before i even start re opening doors
3 Days ago, I woke up at 3:45 AM to use the bathroom, when all the sudden, power went out. I thought the breaker tripped, but nope, power was in the neighborhood. It came back on at 4 AM, but then it went out again. 25 Minutes later, came back on again. So weird night for me.
This was a nice extra video. It's a little bit early for the August generator test. After all your electric company decided to do your August generator test for you at the end of July. 😂 😂 😂 😂 In fact the electric company decided to do it two times for you. This time. Unlike the last power outage. Eight months ago. Regardless of these power outages. You should still do your August generator test. With some surprise power outage that us viewers don't know about.
Hey Nic will you ever install a generator in your house? And I love your video am excited for July testing😊.I have a question when ac power come back on does that charge up the battery in the fire alarm control panel?
Thats a fire door. It closes automaticly when a fire alarm occurs. In this instance, when the power went out, the power-supply to the Electromagnet went out, so closed.
Good call on the emergency lights in the bathroom, nothing worse than dropping the log in the dark, lol.
You have so many emergency lights in your garage it looks brighter than when the lights are on.
Nice video Nic 😊❤ Good to see all the systems in place working as they should 😄

Yes VFD's definitely can be picky if it's not perfect they get upset

Nice vid! Nothing better then being at Wacken, and watching a vid from Nic as they are switching bands. Greetings from Germany!
Very cool to see all your plans working properly IRL. Nice work!
Wow! Very nice. Like seeing how everything kicks in when the power went out

Nice to see everything working well.
Love it when systems work as they should when they are needed!

hi nick love the videos. i think you should put a light on the garage just for utility power so you can see when it is restored. have a great day!!
I know when the power is restored by looking at the house or when the generator is off
@@nics-systems-electric got it thx
the way your mechines turned on is cool!

Why did the power go out?
It seems like everytime you post a video about a power outage, I get one too 😅.
Nice videos anyways!
How many times you have a power outage?
I still can't believe the garage has plumbing. You could totally live in there.
Would just need a shower and some way to cook
Did you ever find out what caused the power to go out?
No
This was a nice extra video.

this was very cool to watch
The generator was notified to start
How much would you say someone would have to spend to make their own automatic backup generator system?
Did mine for about $4000 Canadian could be done for less with cheaper generator
@@nics-systems-electricwhat if you already have a generator that's a pull start but you want to make it an automatic emergency generator?
@@theeyum2 it would need electric start to be able to be automated
@@nics-systems-electric could you convert a pull start to an electric start
Probably switching between substations, I think.
We have one in my area
Does the Generator have a extrnal tank ? if not how often do you top off/replace the gas ?
No external tank I've only filled it up fully once and usually it just stays around half full and I alternate the gas every six months
Hey Nic will you ever install a generator in your house? And I love your video am excited for July testing😊.I have a question when ac power come back on does that charge up the battery in the fire alarm control panel?
Yes the batteries are charged off AC power. And no generator in the house.
@@nics-systems-electricthanks
0:06 power goes out and Why did that garage fire door close?
Because it needs power to stay open
Hey Nic your content is amazing
Agreed!
Hey nic, would adding a sprinkler in the shed be to much ?
What shed

Why does that door close after the power outage started
I just watched another one of your videos and I saw you had a magnet that released
How common are power outages in BC?
Completely depends where you live
@@nics-systems-electric Ok then, let's say your area for example.
@@rastewart100 it's different on my road then two blocks down so it completely varies depending on where you live for me it's only a few times year
@@nics-systems-electric Hmm Interesting. Thanks for answering my question.
You don’t cost money for this emergency?
- what if you added a glass break sensor to your garage security system.
Good idea

What the delay until the generator kick in nic
It's 10 seconds delay until starting sequence

Your power is more unreliable than mine lol
Nic make a Vidio about pearl fire alarm control panel
Those notifier panels are not in his region
