I am seriously thinking of trading in my Can Am Ryker for a Ural Ranger. Why? My wife refuses to get onto the back of any bike or trike but, only yesterday declared that she’d love to get into a sidecar. Go figure!! I showed her a Ural Sahara and she said, yes, that’s the one, all retro and Indiana Jones looking. We may be able to join you chaps one day.
Hi Big M, that's good news. My wife was exactly the same. Tired at staring at the back of my helmet all day. She goes in the sidecar no problem, can read a book, check her phone messages and occasionally look up and scream at me...bliss!! If you are in Australia I would highly recommend doing the course offered by John Taylor at Ural of OZ. I did the course before I brought my first Ural and learned all (some of) the quirks of riding a side car. I'm off next week starting the recce for the next Ural Adventure ride which will be later in the year. Off-road mostly but very manageable and always a good turnout of "normal" fun people. Hope to see you on the road one day.

Funny, if you believe the haters there would have been a trail of parts and oil along the route and a convoy of recovery vehicles needed to bring the broken or broken down Urals back to the shop. Looks like fun was had by all. Would love to join you b.
Hi Chris, you're absolutely right about the haters. Despite it's reputation, I've had more issues with my BMWs. I enjoy it's simplicity and get great satisfaction from working on it. We ride some pretty hardcore stuff and when we meet people out the the middle of nowhere get the, "what the hell are you doing out here and how did you get here on that?" Fun bike to ride and fun people to go riding with.

Hi Husler, must be luck of the draw. This is my third Ural and never a problem. Sure some things come loose and fall off, but so do they on the BMW and Tenere.
