    I love the way that you give and even show the sources for your equipment. OH modern horse is a bit big, but fair do it’s a good size for you by modern standards. I really wanted to set you do the “ horse leap” to mount him in all that gear! Only one comment trying to turning your heels out and toes in. This will re align your leg muscles and tendons making your seat and grip more secure. It will also stop you from inadvertently digging your spur into your horses side with every pace.At the moment you are gripping with the backs of your legs. This is not as secure for you or as comfortable for your horse. A well meant hopefully constructive criticism. Otherwise I’m very impressed 😘👍👍

    It’s interesting how greek the Bosphoran saka looked. I would love to see what the far east scythians who were found in the tarim based resembled. (The Tocharians)

    • @indrajitgupta3280
      @indrajitgupta3280 Рік тому

      Maybe the Tocharians were Scythian, maybe an independent branch of the Indo-European language speaking people altogether.
      The Scythians were East Iranians, and spoke a version of Iranian derived from Indo-Iranian, a Satam language, from the way they said 'one hundred', a language that gave rise, over centuries, to Iranian, to Mitanni, and to Indo-Aryan, from which my own language, Bengali, was a distant descendant, through Magadhi Prakrit.
      The Tocharians spoke a language (it is thought; there is no written evidence) that was part of the Centum languages, from which all of you western barbarians derive your languages - Armenian and Georgian, Greek, Latin, Celtic, Germanic, Slavic and all that.
      There is speculation that the Tocharians, under Hiung Nu pressure, fled south from their original habitat in latitudes parallel to the Mongolians, displaced the Saka, who in turn fled south and demolished the flourishing Bactrian Greek cities and that culture, and settled, after a second displacement, in northern India (briefly) and western India (for several centuries). Whether this displaced and displacing group of tribes were the Tocharians has not been clearly established. What has been established is that in the period of the first century BCE and thereafter, until the Huns ravaged central Asia and western and northern India, they built a mighty empire, and were known as the Moon Clan - one of their five ruling clans, called Kushana by the outer world, and the Yueh Chi by the Chinese.
      So it is more likely that the Tocharians were a non-Scythian stand-alone representative of Indo-European, separate from the Iranian-speaking Saka.

      That is rather expansive.
      By Aryan people, if you mean a branch of the Iranians, who used the word 'Arya' as noble, yes.
      The Buddha - Caucasian with the development of the Bactrian Greek culture, built around the Bactrian Greek cities peopled by the settlers from Alexander's armies, who gave rise to a type of art known as Gandhara art. Gandhara was the area to the east of Kabul and including Kabul, and for the first time, Indian icons were sculpted Greek style, with flowing robes and very familiar looking sculpted figures.
      That was succeeded by the great explosive expansion of Buddhism under the Kushanas, when Buddhism (a branch of it) not only dominated central Asia, but penetrated to China as well, igniting Chinese, and, from there, Japanese Buddhism.
      There were links between the Hittites, ruled by the Mitanni at one time, and the Egyptians and Sumerians (the Sumerians had died out by then), and the Mitanni were a people speaking a version of Indo-Aryan, that broke away from the root Indo-Iranian proto-language that itself gave rise to the language that the Scythians spoke. A distant relationship, and they probably never encountered each other.
      Links with the Vedas? Never heard of it. Perhaps you mean the later epic - much later - the Mahabharata, that featured ferocious fighters from the very distant lands across the Afghan mountains (the Hindu Kush, later), fought on horseback, and were almost unstoppable in battle, the Parama Kamboja. People who claim descent from the Kamboja still exist in Pakistan and in India.
