Something that bugs me and go beyond this video is how the turkic peoples superseded the iranian peoples in Central Asia. Maybe it's a good topic to explore since you're dealing with ancient steppe peoples.
Yeah it’s really sad. Don’t get me wrong I love to study the Turkic peoples. But I wish we had more surviving information from the Saka, Massagetai, Wusun, Bactrians and Sogdians, etc. Even now we know next to nothing about their language beyond the fact that it was Iranian. I wish more survived about their history, their warfare/arms and armor, their religion/mythology. I wish we could learn about the individual smaller tribes and clans that made up the larger confederations that we do know of. It’s really a terrible blow to those who love to study the Eurasian steppe peoples
@@AryaOghuz Unless we have writings from someone among them, we'll never get a clear picture of their culture, region or tribal structure. All that we have is our reconstruction of their history based on material remains and few descriptions from outsiders view.
@@boringoldhistory That’s a terrible tragedy. I am hopeful that someday archaeologists will be able to safely go into Afghanistan and do excavations there, as I believe there are (most likely) many potential discoveries about or related to the Saka and Yuezhi that once lived there. There’s got to be something there. This is another question that you may not know the answer to, but is there any evidence that steppe Iranians ever practiced throat singing? It’s generally associated with Turkic and mongolic peoples, but I know many aspects of their culture were borrowed/influenced by the Iranians. Lots of videos online which discuss steppe Iranians seem to use this type of music in the background and I was wondering if it is simply anachronistic/culture confusion and generalization or if there is some truth to it? @@AryaOghuz I honestly have no knowledge of throat singing. I have heard it in the show "Marco Polo" and so I always thought it was a Mongolian style of singing...
@@AryaOghuzwe have more insight into the nomadic iranian stepped cultures by studying early persian culture before they took over Anshan as well as the Parthians. None of them have throat singing in their reportrar so we can assume that lesser cultures of iranian bransch wouldn't have that practise going on.

They claim there ancestor is sarmatian called Sarmad Sardar(Black arm Sarmad who is a black smith) which is linked to the Ossetian black smith diety Kurdalaegon( Alan blackmith Waegon)
We're not ended, we still exist in the form of Ossetians (we call ourselves Alans) in the Caucasus and all the other people in the region descended from them. As a distinct Scythians language group population, we still exist. And not we're not Caucasians who underwent language replacement, that myth has been debunked. We're still here!
