I can relate to the short off season period which will make it nearly impossible to periodize training into strength,strength-speed,speed-strength and finally speed training....so can we train in the french contrast method which is basically starting your workout with warming up followed by a sport specific low level plyos Ex. pogo jumps/jump ropes then gradually increasing the intensity to max jumps/sprints and then you do your strength lifts Ex. squats/deadlifts and finally finish with core/stability/isometric holds???......and of course you will leave some work for the team practice like running and actually pushing yourself gradually playing your sport which is actually the most specific thing you can do :)
